Free pick up and drop off at your hotel or apartment in Lisbon. Our pick ups are between 7h45 and 8h15 AM. We will inform your exact pick up time on the day before the tour. • You should buy in anticipation the tickets to Pena Palace on their website. You should select the 14h30 (2h30pm) slot. It is important that you buy only for this slot, as we are organizing all the groups for the same time. • The tickets tend to sell out. If you don't purchase your tickets in anticipation, we can't guarantee availability at the Palace entrance so you might end up just being able to visit the exteriors and the gardens.

Your full-day tour of the Sintra region begins with pickup at your centrally-located Lisbon hotel, where you'll climb aboard a comfortable tour vehicle and meet your guide for the day.
Head for Pena Palace, which sits on a hilltop with a view of Sintra National Park and the Atlantic Ocean. Learn about the 19th-century Romantic style of the palace, then continue through Sintra National Park to see the flora and fauna, the Chalets, the Montserrate Palace, and the Moorish Castle.
Learn about the alchemy behind architecture and art, with origins in the Templars, the Rose Cross, and the Masonry.

We had an amazing trip with Igor! He catered to every need and question we had, was an excellent conversationalist and of course, had just the right amount of information/history to provide as I was traveling with my son. This area of Portugal is unique and beautiful — I would highly recommend this tour as a respite from the city and to see more of what this beautiful country has to offer!

Our guide was Igor. We ended up with a private tour because the other people in our group had to cancel. We were really thankful that they didn’t cancel the tour on us. Igor was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. We felt very well taken care of.

I have some mobility challenges specifically stairs or high steps are very difficult. The van used had a very high step to get in and out. The driver at first did not have anything to help me but then reluctantly he finally admitted he had a plastic step to put on the ground. He said it was cracked and wasn't sure it would hold up. I was able to use that but it was still very difficult both climbing in and then positioning my feet to be able to sit down. The legroom in the 2nd row was very small. The tour itself was disappointing because he took us first to Cascais, very early on a Sunday morning and everything was closed. We basically sat on a bench for 1 hour doing nothing. Then we went on to Sintra which had a lot more going on and would have been a nicer place to spend more than the 1/2 hour given. He then took us to the lighthouse and said we could have lunch there at 1 of the 2 or 3 restaurants. He said, "you can check each one out, if you don't like one, go 30 seconds and you will find another." Nothing could be farther from the truth. Each individual restaurant was at least a 5-10 minute walk apart. We ended up at the 1st place simply because I could not walk farther. We had a very overpriced lunch where they even wanted to charge us for bread and butter on the table. Last but not least was the stop to the Pena Palace. I was told in advance if we chose not to enter the palace there was a comfortable place to sit and wait the hour while the others in the tour went in. There was no where comfortable. Rather it was a hard bench out in the freezing cold and drizzle. We ended up waiting almost 2 hours because one member of the tour got lost in the palace. I feel this was a total waste of our day and nothing of what I expected.

The trip was educational and provided great insight into Lisbon's History. Vasco, our tour guide was professional, personable and patient; he is quite knowledgeable and has an easy going personality. He answered our questions with clarity and made us feel at ease. It was a small group of six people so everyone received equal attention.

The ad for the tour leads you to believe you will see magical gardens. You see the palace, which is cool, but to see the gardens you need far more time. Our guide acted annoyed to be doing his job. Perhaps he was just burnt out. The information he provided within the palace was helpful, however there were many moments of silence along the entire tour where he could have offered information along the way. To get any more information than the minimum, we had to ask for it.

Great trip. Luis is a very personable and knowledgeable guide. His food recommendation was spot on. He provided us with a great deal of historical information accompanying the site along the way as well as at the destinations.

We did not get to see all that was stated in the tour nor was much explained by the tour guide. He was a nice tour guide, just not too informative. Much of the day was determined by the weather. Do not get the Full Pena Ticket included as you do not have time with this tour to see it all, just get the half.

Louis was not a good tour guy at all. We were so disappointed with his service. His mono tone and italian accent when speaking English is hard to understand. He doesn't have a good communication and definitely didn't get his story across to everyone. Most, if not all of us were so bored because he mumbled a lot and mono tone through out the day which puts us to sleep. :-( He didn't plan it well neither. We didn't start visiting the main castle until the afternoon which by then everyone were too tired to climb up. It should be the first place to visit when everyone were still fresh and alert. We were so disappointed and didn't enjoy this trip at all. Would not recommend this at all! Waisted of time and money

Great tour. Great host. Marco really did a great job making our trip extra enjoyable even though it rained and was foggy at the Pena Palace. He made great recommendations for lunch and shopping in cascais and sintra. He showed us everything and you could tell he takes great pride in his work and in Portugal.

Our guide was very helpful. I think though, the tour felt rushed and I would recommend it to be a little longer for more enjoyment. Sintra itself was way too crowded to enjoy properly. That didn't have anything to do with the quality of our guide. He was great.

Marco was a fantastic guide! Could not recommend this tour enough. We drove along the coast and through vineyards up to Sintra, stopping for lunch along the way. We were considering navigating this day on our own, but we were very happy that we decided to go with the tour.

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour! André was fabulous! He was very polite, funny and knowledgeable. SO impressed with his multiple languages! Ride up the coast was beautiful. Sintra is a quaint town, lots of souvenir shops, and filled with tourists. The Pena Palace was pretty. If you have trouble with walking up fairly steep hills there is supposedly a shuttle bus you can take.

Very good. Wish the tour guide was only English speaking instead of 2 languages. It is a strain on the guide and the group to keep up, switching between 2 languages.
