Second time booking with Pink Sails since we’ve been here on our honeymoon. Second time it’s been a phenomenal experience. The crew was great and helped us take a beautiful picture together with a rainbow in the background. Third trip is planned for tomorrow to snorkel with turtles. We had a lovely experience on our sunset boat tour! The views were stunning, and we even got to see some whales and sea turtles! The boat staff was very friendly and they made sure we get the most out of our time on the water. Would definitely take this tour again!

This cruise was fabulous. It wasn't just a sunset cruise but also a fun experience swimming in the ocean with a beautiful view onto Waikiki and Diamond Head. Sunset was amazing and we spent half hour admiring it and taking pictures even after it was gone The crew was super entertaining, helpful taking pictures and friendly, with Captain Jamie, Peter and Lexie. Highly recommend it and we would totally do it again.

I am rewriting this review because my first attempt got lost when I navigated away to look for photos to add. This time there will be no photos, as I don't know how to not have the same thing happen again. My trip with Pink Sails was on November 19, 2025. I think the trip was to begin @ 5:00 p.m with participants being there about half hr. early. Price was about $40 and duration about 2hrs. Unsure if this varies with the season. The idea of watching the sunset near Diamond Head from the water was attractive. The vessel was a catamaran. The weather was mostly cloudy although the sun did peak through sometimes. It was also very windy. I don't know wind speed in terms of miles per hr., but it was windy and with some quite strong gusts. The water on the open ocean was choppy. I was seated near the prow of the vessel and did not move to any other place or seat for the whole trip. The young people (those under age 40) moved about quite a bit and a good number of them went swimming. A time for the catamaran to be still to allow for swimming for those who desired to swim was built into the program. There was below deck seating available, but I did not go there. However, Peter, one of the co-captains, suggested taking my backpack below for safekeeping and I allowed that, although when I later felt cold, I asked him to go retrieve a sweatshirt from the backpack, which fortunately was right at the top making it easy to find. The weather was mostly cloudy with high, gusty winds. It was a challenge just to hold onto things (my walking stick, phone/camera, and my water bottle.) When a very strong wave crashed over the front of the catamaran, I held onto my walking stick and phone/camera but lost my water steel water bottle which I had purchased that same morning fir $9.99+tax. The following morning I purchased another smaller steel water bottle from the same store for $7.99+tax. The a smaller bottle is better suited to my needs because it is lighter(esp when full) and easier to carry in my backpack. The clouds interfered with the sunset, but after sunset we did get some nice color in the sky. My fellow passengers were friendly and one woman offered to take my photo with my camera. I accepted. She took 3 shots. Later that evening when I was reviewing the day's photos, I kept only the best one and deleted the other 2 (hey, I do the same with the photos I take). There were quite a number of families, some with small children and babies. There were also some young couples (late teens to 30 something). A diverse group by age, race, ethnicity etc. I think I may have been the oldest...soon to be 80.

It was amazing to swim in the ocean, the water was so blue! The boat ride was fun and the sunset was beautiful. The crew was great. My husband got motion sickness and they took great care of him. Little Dog was so cute and he was wonderful company. It was a memorable tour!

Good tour guides, Capt Brian, John and Tyler. Had fun swimming in the ocean. Unfortunately we did not have a sunset which is out of the control of tour guides.

The sunset was gorgeous of course, it was the loveliest view to get to look back to the city with from the ocean. The operators were nice, swimming bit is a fun cute touch to add to this experience.

Experience was decent, but not very much inclusivity and interactions from the crew, like previous sunset catamaran cruises we have done in other places. Sunset views were very pretty and the drinks were good lol.

Great experience! Crew was cool! Lexi, Peter and the captain were so nice taking pictures for us and giving a great vibe. I just hate that we have to pay for the soda that was watered down. If it’s going to be flat and watered down, it should be at least included in the package. That’s my only issue. Other than that, it was a great experience.

This was an awesome experience. Being a local - the price was right compared to other “sunset cruises” & I was most happy with getting to swim without “mandatory” life vests. The ride was amazing and the crew was so helpful. We do plan on doing this again with our ‘ohana!

Booked this tour for a group of friends & notified the company well ahead of time that our arrival will be right on time due to unforeseen traffic incident. The associate I spoke with let me know she notified the captain but upon our arrival as they see my group exiting the vans they still decide to untie the ropes, ignore us & leave us stranded. Fortunately another hosting company near by was willing to host our group & were more than accommodating. Won’t be booking here again.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear you were unable to join your tour, and we’d like to provide some clarification for future guests who may read this.
When you booked, our confirmation email clearly stated:
* Check-in time: Guests must arrive 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time.
* Departure policy: Tours depart promptly at the listed time — just like an airplane. Late arrivals may miss the tour, and no refunds can be issued for missed departures.
* Cancellation policy: Changes or cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance to qualify for a refund or credit.
In your case, our team received a call at 4:10 PM, ten minutes after your check-in time.
You advised that your group of 22 guests was still coming from the North Shore and would arrive around 4:30 PM. Our representative explained that our Captain strictly departs on schedule, as we must respect the time of the 90+ other passengers who checked in early and boarded on time. Our team also set your expectations while we can inform our Captain and crew we can't promise or we can't assure that they will wait for you. Those were clearly stated during your phone call with our team and you mentioned that "you understand" that there is no assurance.
While you saw the boat still at the dock when you arrived at 4:35 PM, boarding had already closed. At that point, our Captain was conducting the mandatory safety briefing—an essential part of every tour. For safety and operational reasons, no one can board after this process begins.
We fully understand travel delays can happen, but many of our guests—including families with young children, senior citizens, and visitors arriving straight from flights—manage to arrive on time by planning ahead for traffic and parking.
You were also informed in advance through our listing, confirmation email, and over the phone about the consequences of arriving late. We record all calls for quality assurance, and your acknowledgment of this policy was noted.
While we regret that you were unable to join the tour, we must remain fair to all guests and crew members by upholding the same standards consistently.

You are literally just riding a boat that will take you to watch the sunset. Nothing special about it. I mean I can watch the sunset from the shore. Crew aren’t very encouraging about swimming for those that aren’t a good swimmer. You are kind of your own besides their warning to not swim if you aren’t a swimmer. I think this is a waste of money because next time I’ll just watch the sunsetting somewhere
