Our guide Arjuna is the highlight of this tour. The place itself is beautiful and has many things to see. But our guide brought the experience to a whole new level. We walked and talked and learned about the history and nature of hawaii and maui. Towards the end of the tour we stopped by a waterfall to take pictures, truly experienced chocolate, and he even made us his own recipe from scratch in front of us.
I cannot overstate enough that our guide Arjuna is the best. There was never a dull moment and he always kept us entertained.

Great experience. Ryan was knowledgable and personable. He made everyone feel comfortable. Chocolate tasting was great. Many different kinds.

Arjuna, our tour was fantastic. He is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about rainforests and chocolate. Mix that together within beautiful waterfalls makes for a very fun, different type of tour. Highly recommend!

JOJO!!!!!!!! The trip that made my trip.
This private rainforest is truly amazing, Jojo the guide is a fountain of information and fun. We left the rainforest educated on so many things. Especially how to make chocolate naturally.
Stephanie_C, Nov 2025
Great tour! Beautiful Rainforest area. Jojo was great guide. The trail was very good and manageable. It rained right in the middle of the tour for about 10 min, making the tour even better. Because of course you should experience rain while in a rainforest, made it perfect.
The chocolate demonstration and tasting were great as well.

Jojo was a wonderful guide. He is extremely informed about the islands history as well as very knowledge about flora and fauna.
He was funny and very respectful.
Not to mention this tour included chocolate! White chocolate, milk chocolate, dark, milk and toffee, etc. He was very generous with his sharing of chocolate. It was also accompanied with a little chocolate making demonstration.
This hike was very slow paced and very relaxed. It was not moderately difficult.
5 stars and would recommend Jojo to anyone.

Amazing tour hosted by JoJo, who was extremely knowledgeable about the flora and fauna. The chocolate tasting after the tour was an unexpected treat. Highly recommended nature and short (2 hours) experience.

I don’t know how it happened but I booked a tour for Sunday and it ended up becoming a tour for Monday. When my husband looked at the address as we were approaching the final site, he realized there was a text that said text me to get the final address. It was kind of strange, we didn’t expect that. We thought that we had the final address. And when we texted her, she said oh your reservation is for tomorrow. Well that wasn’t going to work because we’re traveling tomorrow back home to California. but, she was amazing. She said all is not lost, she assured us that she knew of other places that we could visit. She sent this long text about all the other places that we could visit. I asked her if she could refund us since we would not be able to attend this Kings garden that we had signed up for. But, she said, there was no refund available since it was a charity donation. I guess I’m just supposed to look at this as having donated to the natural flora which was the donations cause. It was very strange. Usually, this doesn’t happen on Viator. They always give you events that are fully refundable. Anyway, we hope you don’t have the same experience.

This person was a no show, booked for the Monday refer to get in on the Sunday. It was no fault of ours. We went out of our way to help you with giving you alternatives things to do as you were trying to get in on the day you were not booked for. L

My husband and I enjoyed listening to Ryan's stories. He was very knowledgeable and also kept us laughing with his sense of humor. Very beautiful trail. Loved the waterfall and learning about cacao vs cocoa.

The tour was way shorter than expected. There was no walking to waterfall but a view of it. The chocolate testing of chocolate made on the island not there. And did not get to make own chocolate ...guide made a small tray of it, placed it on freezer and never saw it again. And the ruin have great history but don't be expecting much. Guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Compared to other tour this one was way, way over priced! Should be like may be $40 per person. A bit of a tourist trap!!!
Response from Host, Apr 2025
We Strive to always do better, 99% of visitors feel it is worth every penny, and love helping, a great local charity. They love the fact that it is an easy mini hike great for kids and families. Also with global warming more and more people are being washed way at all waterfall locations never to be seen again in flash floods, but the great news is that at our waterfall location this has never happened as we are at an officially safe viewing distance. And we state it is views of the waterfall and that there is another waterfall that we send visitors to for swimming that belongs to one of the directors friends, that your guide tells about and how to get to. We hope you have a nice day and will contact us directly so we can help make your day that much better.
Please note as a charity we have help feed over 2,000 people during the pandemic and the Lahaina Wild Fires, we have also helped with giving shelter, clothing, medical and PTS treatments to as many of the survivors as possible. This is all besides the preservation restoration and conservation efforts here at this location deemed as one of the most significant Historical Sites in all of Hawaii. Have a nice rest of the day.

Ryan is a Pro in every sense of the word! His knowledge of Hawaiian history, landscape, and traditions, combined with his genuine spiritual connection made him an excellent guide into the King's Garden. The area was beautiful, the waterfall was majestic and the chocolates were delicious!
Cathy_H, Aug 2024
I will never forget this tour, everything was amazing. I don't even like chocolate but I loved this chocolate. Getting back to mother nature and experiencing the jungle in such a raw natural state of being and our guide Steven who was so knowledgeable and friendly made this one of the many highlights of my trip to paradise.
Adam_N, May 2024

Jeanne_M, May 2024
Our tour guide T was fantastic, personable, and super knowledgeable. It’s was great to learn about the history, the land, and nature itself. The chocolate was a perfect ending against the backdrop of the beautiful rain forest-like scenery.
William_j, May 2024
Our guide was the best thank you GOD bless really insightful fun beautiful place was easy hike easy to find
HelmutMichael_L, Apr 2024
Our tour was whittled down to just my wife and I due to heavy rains but Jiva was excellent as a tour guide providing rain ponchos and being very safety conscious on the wet and slippery surfaces. He was very knowledgeable and presented the information in a way that was easy to understand and remember. He has a great sense of humour and we had an excellent time in the garden despite the rain. The history of chocolate making and the sampling were a nice finish to the tour. Well worth the time and money.
