Great atmosphere. Food was delicious, open bar with good drinks, great performances, kind and top notch hospitality. This was the highlight of the entire trip!!! We did splurge for VIP seating, and it was worth it. We were right in front of the stage.

Beautiful setting. We had 12 of us; 8 adults; 1 child, and 2 infants. We were able to fit at one table with infants in Laos. Booster chairs available. Loved family style dining instead of buffet Plenty of food and drinks. Service all around was excellent

Your evening at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort on Maui begins with lively pre-show music and entertainment, priming you for a night of cultural immersion, so you can understand the island’s history and ancestral tales.

After your pre-dinner entertainment, settle down to watch the show—”Te Au Moana: The Ocean Tide," a captivating performance that demonstrates the dances and ancestral stories of Polynesia, including a lively fire knife performance.

During the performance, indulge in a hassle-free, all-you-can-eat buffet. This luau-style dinner offers a variety of Hawaiian specialties, allowing you to sample a wide range of local flavors without the need to choose from a menu.

As a souvenir of your memorable evening, receive a special gift, such as a traditional flower lei, a kukui nut lei, or a hand-carved wooden necklace. After the show, you’re free to arrange your transportation and plan the rest of your Maui evening.

Have attended many Luau’s on few islands. This one was by far the best. The entertainment added humor with crowd engagement. The staff were incredibly friendly and the food was better than expected for a buffet style meal.

Luau was a huge hit with family of nine and children ages 9-15. Quality food family style — thank goodness no buffet lines. Drinks were nice enough! Desserts fruit and meats vegetables excellent! Entertainment outstanding and I’ve been to Maui luaus five times before I shared experience with grandkids! Excellent service. Personnel fantastic!

Make your reservations early we decided to go once we had gotten to Hawaii, so our table was not close to the stage. But I believe all the tables have a decent view. Overall, I believe it was overpriced The food was ok but it was presented well and our waiter was very friendly. I recommend the mai tai drink the frozen drink choices melted fast. The performers were talented and I enjoyed the luau experience.

The Te Au Moana was our favorite luau ever! Elegant, delicious, entertaining and memorable ! From the moment we arrived and received our beautiful orchid leis, our group of grandparents and teens were all happy! Brandon our bartender, took care of our beverage needs and Benji our expert waiter served us the most delicious selections of high quality and fresh foods! He even brought us extra portions of our favorite dishes. The entertainment was outstanding and engaging! What a beautiful evening!

Fantastic Evening of Hawaiian Culture

We booked the premium seating, and it was absolutely worth it. Our table was in the very front, which we loved, although honestly every table seemed to have a great view. One tip: plan to be in line by 4:30 p.m. People start lining up early, and even though premium seating has reserved tables, the entry lines are still long and as soon as you are seated, you can get a drink! The show itself was outstanding. The dancers, musicians, and singers were incredibly talented and you could tell they genuinely care about preserving and sharing Hawaiian culture. I've been to several luaus over the years, and this was by far the best one. One thing I especially appreciated was that they didn't waste time bringing tourists on stage to dance the hula for laughs. I came to watch professional performers, not another tourist trying to dance! 😂 Instead, everyone in the audience learned and participated in a short hula routine right from their seats, which was fun without taking away from the performance. A final tip: bring sunglasses and a hat. Even at 5:00 p.m., the sun is intense until it starts to set. This was a beautiful, authentic, and thoroughly entertaining evening. I would absolutely recommend it. (Note. The tickets indicated the show ended at 9 pm; however, it was from 5-8:15 pm.)

The show was excellent The food was good. Not a fan of the kalua pork. The guava cake dessert was yummy. The open bar was fast. The Mai tai is good. Pina colada was also good, quite sweet.

Beautiful setting for the luau. Friendly staff especially at the bar. Enjoyed the show- perfect amount of time. The food was just ok, not great but not terrible. Enjoyed the shredded pork, rice, macaroni salad. The desserts were ok too.

Really nice show, in a picture perfect setting. Energetic and talented mistress of the event. Learned a bit about Polynesian culture while being entertained. High energy performances, good food between the pork, Huli huli chicken, and sweet potato. Not pushy to upsell extras although we did purchase a professional photo. Only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is because it’s my first event of this kind and I feel like There might be another level to hit regarding the storytelling, or getting to know the characters

Beautiful Show, but Arrive Early

We attended the Te Au Moana Luau at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort with a group where half of us had attended a luau before and half had not. Our check-in time was 5:10 p.m. We parked at about 5:07, but underestimated how long it would take to walk through the resort to the luau grounds. By the time we arrived around 5:25, the event was already underway. Unfortunately, we missed the lei-making and temporary tattoo activities, the appetizers had already been served, and the open bar line was quite long. It took us about 15–20 minutes just to get a drink, and by the time we sat down, most of the pre-show activities had ended. One thing future guests should know is to plan extra time for parking and walking through the resort so you don’t miss those experiences. As for the food, it was good but not exceptional. I’d give it a solid B—everything was tasty, but nothing particularly stood out as memorable. We also found it a little odd that the pig presentation took place just moments before dinner plates were served, making it seem unlikely that what was showcased was actually being served. The biggest highlight of the evening was the performance itself. The storytelling, music, and dancing were beautiful, engaging, and captivating throughout the night. However, one aspect of the timing felt like a missed opportunity. The show began right as the sun was setting, and given the stunning oceanfront location, it would have been nice to have a few minutes built into the schedule for guests to enjoy and photograph the sunset before the performance started. Instead, many guests seemed torn between watching the show and taking in one of Maui’s most beautiful natural attractions. Overall, most luaus in Maui come with a hefty price tag, and after experiencing this one, I personally don’t feel the need to seek out another. The show was wonderful and I’m glad we attended, but for us, the entertainment was the highlight—not necessarily the dinner. If you’re looking for a beautiful cultural performance in a stunning setting, you’ll likely enjoy Te Au Moana, just be sure to arrive earlier than you think you need to.

This was so fun! We had an amazing table, filled with fun and friendly people. Everyone was so helpful and welcoming. Monica our server was exceptional. The show did not disappoint either. Absolutely amazing. Beautiful location. Beautiful people. The show was very well put on with all the staff being energetic, polite and just giving positive vibes. Sunset was Beautiful, the grounds of the resport hosting the event was top notch, I could not have asked for a better experience. Food was amazing and staff brought out plenty. Drinks were great, food was great, service was amazing, and the show included historical facts that kept our attention. Would recommend highly!

To me not worth the cost if you’ve seen a luau before

Nice setup, but factoring in the cost of premium seats $1300 for 4 people, not worth it. Standard seats are only slightly less. The food was generally good, but could have been more variety of local dishes. Open bar was mainly pineapple and rum based drinks, limited beer and wine and had to stand in line to get it. They wouldn’t try to customize a drink by leaving out one ingredient for a family member. The dancers were good, but the storytelling kinda went on. Only one fire dance at the end. Not that much difference in view between most premium and regular seats. If you’ve never been to a luau, consider going, but if you’ve seen one already, I’d skip this one.

Overall great experience! The performers are extremely talented and put on a great show. The view of the ocean was absolutely beautiful especially as the sun set . My family thought the food tasted really good and there was a large variety to choose from served family style. Everyone working there was extremely kind and took great care of us. There are a couple activities that you can do before the show starts and you can get a professional photo taken that you have the chance to purchase at the end. The open bar had a good cocktail menu and the line was never very long and the drinks were tasty. Would definitely recommend this experience!
