We had a great day. We had a small group and got a lot in. We saw all the spots we wished for. If you take this tour, ask for Dell. He was a great guide.

Ok this is such a great day with so many different stops. The tour guide knows the roads so well, and is not in a hurry. My kids loved swimming by the waterfall and at beach. She was so knowledgable about hawaiin culture and the road to Hana. I drove the road to hana 10 years ago and we did not get in as many stops in ans definately didnt learn that much. I took a 6 year old and an 8 year old.

Tour was fine until it came time to get back to our hotel. Driver asked us if we wanted to see the west side of the island, which we agreed to but didn’t know it would add over 2.5 hours to our day making it an eleven hours day ( we were 15 minutes from hotel when this happened). So, the other people were dropped off leaving us for last to benefit the driver( traffic). Felt duped.
But the driver did thank us for “taking one for the team”(?) what team? His team.
I have since cancelled two Viator tours.

Travel time is long, not much to offer.
Road was closed for more than half an hour going to and more than half an hour back which put you under pressure if you from cruise line.
Doesn’t worth to pay more than $200 to see the rocky shore in Hāna.

It's a wow for those who love nature. We were in very capable hands with our driver & tour guide, Del, who safely navigated tight alleys & the very long winding road to Hana. The bay & black pebble beach are slices of paradise.

Jason made our private Maui rainforest tour excellent. He's cool, funny, professional, and genuinely passionate—not just reciting facts but sharing stories that stick. We rode in a comfy vehicle, stopped for fresh coconuts, and hit a trail with amazing views: bamboo tunnels, multiple waterfalls, and pools light enough to look neon. Mid-hike there was warm banana bread that tasted like it came out of someone's kitchen five minutes earlier. Jason paced it perfectly—photo stops without padding, skips to dodge crowds, and time to stand in the mist and listen. Stunning, laid-back, and memorable.
Ask for Jason. You will not regret

The tour guide was very knowledgeable, but before the trip we were texted to wear flip flops and bring a towel because there were places to go in the water. Although this was true, it was cold, rainy, and we walked in very slippery areas that I would have worn better shoes if I had known. I was not dressed correctly, thinking it would be nice based on the text. The last comment I will make, is boy is it a long tour, we were ready to be done half way through.

Jason our guide was an energetic experienced local who wanted to share beautiful Maui from a local perspective. This is an all day adventure exploring in the rainforest. Lots of time driving the 30 miles of winding road. Beautiful rainfalls. Awesome views from the twists and turns drive. Lots of stops at local vendors. Stops to smell barks of trees, plants. Time to immersed yourself into nature surroundings. Great black sand beach with an option to hike. Decent no frills lunch.
Jason as a guide/driver. Knowledgeable and friendly. Wished we spent more time at the black sand beach and at a rainfall where we could have access to stand beneath. Time well spent in Maui’s natural surroundings away from resort.

We did a private tour which was nice to take the tour in a SUV instead of a bus. It is a treacherous road but felt safe with our driver. We were happy with Aloha Sunshine Tours although we didn’t care for our guide. We felt he could have given us more information on the sites we were or would be seeing.

Great views. Not much hiking or waterfall time. Expected more based on the description of the tour. Guide (Lisa) was very engaged and made many stops to take photos and to shop.

This was a great experience! Jason was so knowledgeable about Hana, Maui and Hawaiian culture and history. He communicated well and was on time. He really took care of us!
My mom and sister don’t travel much and aren’t the most physically capable, but they loved the trip. It was the best day of the vacation by far.

Jason was amazing and made the trip very delightful. He made some surprise stops along the way an took us to the best banana bread stand! Also we got to try fruit! I definitely recommend this trip and if possible ask for Jason! He was born and raised here and is very in touch with the culture!

This is NOT the experience you want if you don’t want to spend all day in a van or stoping at roadside banana bread stands. The highlight of the tour was WAIʻĀNAPANAPA STATE PARK and its black sand beaches. The environment, vegetation and ecological sites were stunning. It truly felt like paradise. We spent an hour here but would’ve loved more time to explore.
The other highlight was stopping at a waterfall. However, it was a small waterfall just off the side of the road. It was crowded with other groups and we only had maybe 20 mins at this stop.
I originally booked this specific tour based on the reviews and photos of amazing hiking, waterfall and sea turtle adventures. I mean the title of the tour includes the word waterfalls. We saw several waterfalls but only stopped at one. That was definitely mis-representation in the headline and description. We were looking for a hike to a waterfall followed by a swim. That did not happen.
We also only briefly stopped at Pua'a Ka'a State Park to see the sea turtles and we saw them from a very highly elevated standpoint in the parking lot area. It would’ve been great to go down to the beach area.
There was a lot of time in the van and a lot of stops at roadside stands. I would’ve rather eliminated most of those stops and spent more time at the black sand beaches and various waterfalls.
I would’ve also have loved to learn more about the history of this area. Our tour guide was super friendly and safe, but we could’ve used more information about the land and history of Maui, and less personal or family stories.

Wow! Jason was amazing…a truly local born and raised in the area guide who shared so many great stories, local history, and legends that it kept our visit exciting and interesting. We visited highlighted areas plus he added some bonus stops with local fruit and chocolate stands. Get ready for the best banana bread you’ve had (don’t tell grandma we said that). He even sent us a list of his favorite spots for hanging out and eating after the tour. We wished this had been our first tour of the week since there were so many amazing recommendations. I bet we may just need to come back again! Additionally, he contacted us after the tour to let us know we left a pair of binoculars and offered to meet us on his day off to return them. Mahalo!

This tour is definitely for "NATURE" lovers & people who like long drives..the added stops - black sand beach, north shore beach, aunties sandies banna bread, broke up the drive..the waterfall stop were ok.

Anthony our tour guide made this a fun and adventuresome day touring the Road to Hana. He did a great job introducing the group to each other. First time, I remembered everyone’s name in a group over 10 people. We were so engaged in a group conversation that we were at our first point of interest half way to Hana at what seemed like a blink of an eye. Enjoyed hearing Anthony’s explanation of the history and culture of Maui and Hawaii in general. The points of interest were well chosen providing a mix of scenic views, hiking opportunities and shopping. Anthony moved things along so that you could take it all in at each stop but did not feel burdened by staying too long at anyone site. I am usually hesitant to take bus tours, but this one was a blast.

We absolutely loved the Road to Hāna. The journey was both relaxing and historically engaging, with so much beauty and meaning along the way.
