If you’re considering booking a Road to Hana tour while visiting Maui, I highly recommend it! We had a wonderful time, and our tour guide, Lisa, was absolutely amazing! She was knowledgeable, insightful, friendly, and passionate about sharing the beauty, history, and culture of Hawaii.
Our group included 13 people, including three teenagers, and Lisa did an outstanding job catering to everyone’s interests and expectations. She made sure everyone felt included and engaged, creating an enjoyable experience for the entire group. Her knowledge and personality truly made the journey special!
A few things future travelers should know: The Road to Hana is about enjoying the journey just as much as the destination. Be prepared for winding roads, beautiful scenery, and plenty of memorable sights along the way. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, bring water, and consider motion sickness remedies if you’re sensitive to curves. Most importantly, come with an open mind, a sense of adventure, and a willingness to enjoy the experience.
Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and Lisa was a huge part of what made it so memorable. If you’re looking for a tour guide who is knowledgeable, personable, and attentive to her guests, Lisa is the one! You won’t just see Maui’s beauty—you’ll gain a deeper appreciation for the island along the way.

Great day trip. Was going to drive myself but you can't see the views when ur driving. We'll worth having the guide w the history and culture. Jason was greay provided cultural information and was on time. Provided a great Playlist throughout the day and answered any questions u had. Some guide provide too much information and at the end of a long trip can leave me w a headache from the nonstop information. Jason is cool calm and provides just the right amount of info. Great stops the last was actually my favorite for photos. Lunch was delicious I liked ite sprouts on the turkey and fresh bread. Plenty of food to be had on the way no need to even bring breakfast as people say. Popsicles at the farm stand were also fab.

Enjoyed. Hope we had more stops and had a visit to garden. Feels lukewarm we were rushing. Driver was good, he has to point the objects while vehicle was moving at 10 to 15 miles by the time we try to locate, we miss it.

The was a great tour. Lisa was our driver. She was so fun and made extra stops and were able to see places we had not seen. Banana bread, coconuts and chocolate farms. Long day but sp worth it.

Overall this was an enjoyable experience and met our expectations. We enjoyed the waterfall swimming and black sand beach a lot! Our guide Marc was also very knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna. We only wish we had more time at the beach and that lunch could have been a separate stop instead of combined with the beach. Also, we didn't realize that the start time can vary based on where your pickup location is - that isn't clearly stated.

Our driver Jason was awesome and hit all the hot spots. It made us enjoy the trip more because he played a lot of island reggae! We had plenty of time w/ each stop. I chose to jump pua’a ka’a and it was killer!!!!

Lisa was entertaining and informative along the tour. Stops were interesting and some stops had tasty eats. Though not everything was done on the tour due to weather it was enjoyable.

Maluhia was an amazing guide. She was knowledgeable, kind and an all around wonderful person. The places we visited were well explained and by starting early, we missed the crowds that came later on.

We had a very pleasant experience. Our driver Ed was very personable and knowledgeable. RTH is a very long trip, so it was nice to have a friendly driver to help us pass the time. Ed asked all of us what we wanted to see the most so we all could have a great experience.

Unfortunately, I would not recommend this tour. Everything felt very rushed, even the bathroom breaks. I would have preferred fewer stops and more time at the waterfalls to actually enjoy the scenery and experience. With so many curves on the Road to Hana, the drive can make you dizzy, so constantly rushing from one stop to another made it less enjoyable. We were only given one bottle of water for the entire trip, and the sandwich was terrible. The driver talked almost nonstop, but the commentary became boring and I actually fell asleep. He also didn’t seem very attentive to how the passengers were feeling. For such a long tour, I expected better food, more water, more attention to the passengers, and more time to enjoy the best stops.

Guide was new and not very knowledgeable. She appeared to be sleepy (veering off the road) and was even pulled over for running a read light and was given a warning. Her driving was questionable. We were dropped off in a town and told to return to the van in 20 minutes. It was early in the morning so everything was closed. At this point we wanted to return to the resort. She then picked up her boyfriend and said he would help during the tour. On the way back we felt safer because the boyfriend drove. The was not a whole lot of dialogue on the way back which made the trip seem longer. Lunch was meh. There werent even condiment packets to go along with the sandwiches. Also, everyone does not like bean sprouts. That should have been mentioned as an option. Overall, I would not book this tour again as it is quite pricey for the experience we received.

We were picked up at our hotel at 6 am and didn't return until 6 pm. We stopped many times at bathroom facilities. Bring your breakfast; one of the first stops is a nice place to eat. Our tour guide, Chris, was excellent. Very knowledgeable and stopped at numerous places to take photos, have a great lunch (sandwiches, water) and swim in turquoise waters. Know that you'll be in the mini-van for a good part of the day and getting in and out many times. We stopped at waterfalls, black sand beaches and lookouts during the day. He pointed out all the sights at each stop. There are snacks on the way back. I do recommend you bring a water bottle with you to drink while in the van.
Do not attempt to drive the road to Hana yourself. It is a twisting, winding, mountainous road with many one-land bridges. Fabulous excursion!
Since this is a long day, I recommend you eat dinner at your hotel afterwards!

Jason was a great guide. We missed a stop since another couple was 30 minutes late but Jason did his best and took us to another black sand beach. Jason took our son & another kid to jump off waterfall which was great. He also shared his play list for our son which was great.
