If nothing else, take this wonderful tour to be enriched, humored and enchanted by tour guide Anthony. He is an exceptional host who is quite skilled and approachable.
While taking in the majestic sites on the road to Hana, Anthony passionately explained the fundamentals of Hawaiian history, culture and language. He was caring and upbeat, and gladly responded to individual needs!
Also noteworthy, Anthony was an extremely safe driver on this very challenging and curvy road.
In sum, Anthony truly represents the spirit of Aloha!!

Great Tour on the road to Hana. Jason was an amazing tour guide, very informative and knowledgeable about the island of Maui. We were given plenty of rest room breaks, water and opportunity for yummy snacks. I would highly recommend this tour with Jason.

Good evening,
On Sunday I went on the road to Hana tour with my girlfriend and good friend, and unfortunately I have been left feeling very underwhelmed from the whole experience. From my understanding, the tour guide we had was not the original planned, and was a substitute. However during the tour, we got off the bus just 5 times (including lunch), and when we did we only got 10-15 minutes in each place, (on the itinerary it was a lot more places and all for at least 30 minutes), apart from the beach where we got 45 minute's. It felt like we were being rushed in every single location, and during the tour, we never stopped at any of the venders on the trip (apart from the farm), despite being told to bring cash so we could stop. During the tour, the guide didn't fill us with information and in order to get any, we had to constantly ask about anything for him to speak to us.
The tour felt like a quick dash in and out drive and when I asked if we could stop to take a picture of the rainbow eucalyptus, as I had seen other buses pull over and stop, we just slowed down as we drove past it and kept going. We were also told after the beach we would stop at a waterfall and we would have time to jump in and swim, however we never stopped and we just kept driving last them all, so again I feel like it's something I've missed doing as the tour felt rushed and the guide wasn't 100% interested in giving us the best possible day. The guide kept pointing out different locations and venders leading up to the feeling of stopping and seeing, but went on to say we aren't going there today.
On top of this, we ate lunch next to the toilets, instead of a nice spot which was a bit disappointing, to be eating next to bathroom that you could smell.
From my understanding, there was other people on the bus upset and confused as to why we were not getting off the bus very often and why we were not stopping more often at venders and spots.
For me, spending $440 on this trip for my girlfriend and I, we expected an awful lot more, and don't feel like I got anywhere close to the value of what I paid out of the experience. I was very dissapointed with what we did and the experience. If there is something that could be done in terms of a refund or even a partial refund I would be very much appreciated as I don't believe to have got the value for the money spent.

Great experience overall with excellent sites/views and a wonderful way to learn about the culture. We had Jason as our tour guide. He was fantastic. He gave us great insights on the local culture. The road is very curvy - one lane each way - take motion sickness medicine! Enjoy the waterfalls and the black sand beach as well.

We were picked up by Dell at the condo we stayed. That was a great perk for a 6:00 am tour. Dell is personable and shared a base of good knowledge. His being experienced with the winding narrow road was obvious. At times we were crossing bridges only one car could be on. He was courteous and patient with other drivers who weren’t familiar with the right of way. We did get a full rain forest experience. The recommended rain jacket or poncho is important. The water temperature at the waterfall was 50 degrees so have something warm to wear after in the air conditioned van. The sandwich was delicious. We were eating it during a heavy downpour and there wasn’t a covered place to eat. So an umbrella would help. We didn’t have one so we got drenched. Again, having a towel to cover yourself in the air conditioned van is helpful. The tour is as described. The waterfalls and scenery are beautiful. The banana bread is truly delicious. I bought four loaves to take back to our family who were staying at the condo and everyone raved about them. We had original for those who can’t eat nuts and the macadamia nut one that were the favorite. The pineapple one was good too but not as good. It was amazing to see around 50 turtles on a beach. The great thing about the day was we didn’t have to navigate and make decisions about which stops to make. A stress free enjoyable nine hours on Maui

Road to Hāna with the driver Dell was amazing. I felt super safe with him navigating the roads, and at each stop he made sure no one was left behind! Would definitely book this tour again, also want to note that the sub for lunch was amazing!

It's a long day in a van but we made frequent rest stops and the places we saw offered incredible views and photo ops!
Our driver did a great job navigating the tight turns and provided good commentary!

Dell was so phenomenal. Super patient. Answered a ton of questions. But more than anything else, his driving was safe. That is the greatest aspect of the package. The road to Hana can be tricky if you drive yourself, but having Dell probably saved my marriage since it spared us from dealing with no signal, a rental, finding locations and parking, traffic, places to eat…etc

Ok this is such a great day with so many different stops. The tour guide knows the roads so well, and is not in a hurry. My kids loved swimming by the waterfall and at beach. She was so knowledgable about hawaiin culture and the road to Hana. I drove the road to hana 10 years ago and we did not get in as many stops in ans definately didnt learn that much. I took a 6 year old and an 8 year old.

Tour was fine until it came time to get back to our hotel. Driver asked us if we wanted to see the west side of the island, which we agreed to but didn’t know it would add over 2.5 hours to our day making it an eleven hours day ( we were 15 minutes from hotel when this happened). So, the other people were dropped off leaving us for last to benefit the driver( traffic). Felt duped.
But the driver did thank us for “taking one for the team”(?) what team? His team.
I have since cancelled two Viator tours.

Travel time is long, not much to offer.
Road was closed for more than half an hour going to and more than half an hour back which put you under pressure if you from cruise line.
Doesn’t worth to pay more than $200 to see the rocky shore in Hāna.

It's a wow for those who love nature. We were in very capable hands with our driver & tour guide, Del, who safely navigated tight alleys & the very long winding road to Hana. The bay & black pebble beach are slices of paradise.

Jason made our private Maui rainforest tour excellent. He's cool, funny, professional, and genuinely passionate—not just reciting facts but sharing stories that stick. We rode in a comfy vehicle, stopped for fresh coconuts, and hit a trail with amazing views: bamboo tunnels, multiple waterfalls, and pools light enough to look neon. Mid-hike there was warm banana bread that tasted like it came out of someone's kitchen five minutes earlier. Jason paced it perfectly—photo stops without padding, skips to dodge crowds, and time to stand in the mist and listen. Stunning, laid-back, and memorable.
Ask for Jason. You will not regret

The tour guide was very knowledgeable, but before the trip we were texted to wear flip flops and bring a towel because there were places to go in the water. Although this was true, it was cold, rainy, and we walked in very slippery areas that I would have worn better shoes if I had known. I was not dressed correctly, thinking it would be nice based on the text. The last comment I will make, is boy is it a long tour, we were ready to be done half way through.

Jason our guide was an energetic experienced local who wanted to share beautiful Maui from a local perspective. This is an all day adventure exploring in the rainforest. Lots of time driving the 30 miles of winding road. Beautiful rainfalls. Awesome views from the twists and turns drive. Lots of stops at local vendors. Stops to smell barks of trees, plants. Time to immersed yourself into nature surroundings. Great black sand beach with an option to hike. Decent no frills lunch.
Jason as a guide/driver. Knowledgeable and friendly. Wished we spent more time at the black sand beach and at a rainfall where we could have access to stand beneath. Time well spent in Maui’s natural surroundings away from resort.

We did a private tour which was nice to take the tour in a SUV instead of a bus. It is a treacherous road but felt safe with our driver. We were happy with Aloha Sunshine Tours although we didn’t care for our guide. We felt he could have given us more information on the sites we were or would be seeing.

Great views. Not much hiking or waterfall time. Expected more based on the description of the tour. Guide (Lisa) was very engaged and made many stops to take photos and to shop.
