My two boys, 11 and 13, took a morning surf lesson with Conan. Despite us being late (totally my fault), Conan was friendly, fun, and gave them a really useful lesson. They loved it so much that we rebooked with him for another lesson a few days later! One of their favorite experiences on our trip to Maui!

Got a text early morning from our instructor Eric with a pin to the exact location to meet him. We did lessons for our kids age 10 and 16. He was friendly and helped them catch some good waves. They got to see whales out in the water too.

WOW!! This was one of our kids favorite activities on our cruise! I truly believe the quality of your surf experience has a lot to do with your instructor and if you are lucky enough to get Jess and/or Sharky as your instructor you have hit the jackpot! IMO if you don't have fun, it is all on you, not them! They were both patient individuals that were excellent at explaining the ins and outs of surfing.
We booked this activity for our two kids and their SO who are all 21-22 yo and they can't stop talking about surfing and wanting to try it again! Each couple was booked with one instructor, but they decided they wanted to do it together, so they had two instructors for the four of them. They enjoyed doing it this way because they received feedback from two people instead of one. They were all able to get up on their boards which was cool!
The beach is not crowded like a lot of beaches where surf lessons are offered, so no worries about "stealing" somebody's wave or being taken out by another surfer. The waves weren't crazy big so it was prefect for beginners.
We took an Uber there from the cruise port and ordered an Uber when they were done with no problems.
They provided shoes, rash guard, and the board. Communication prior to the lessons was excellent.
The kids 100% recommend Jess and Sharky at Rivers to the Sea for surf lessons!! A special thank you to Jess and Sharky for helping our kids and their SO make awesome memories learning to surf in Maui!!

This surf lesson was for my 7 year old and 10 year old daughters. Tanner was an absolute legend and showed both patience and kindness as he took them out to surf. His passion and knowledge for the sport was obvious and contagious and both girls did not want to stop riding waves. Thank you!

My two daughters(ages 11,14) took a lesson from instructor Sharky today. It was their first time surfing so we chose to do the small 2 person lesson. The girls got all of his attention unlike some of the bigger group lessons going on around us. The winds have been up so the waves were bigger than expected and my youngest was scared about getting too far out and the size of the waves. Sharky took great care of them and prioritized their safety. They had a great time and both got up on their first attempt. Highly recommend this tour and Sharky.

Tanner was an amazing instructor! He was very patient and kind to our two kids trying surfing for the first time, and now they love it! He also made sure they were safe in the ocean, spending time one on one with each, definitely recommend Tanner!

My two sons had a great experience with Sharky the instructor. They said he was really good, a great teacher & a great motivator. The day we went out it was a beautiful day. The waves weren’t big so it was perfect for beginners. They were able to stand on the board after a few tries. It was well worth the time and money. Booking was so easy as well. A must do on Hawaii!

Great surfing location. The Honolulu of Maui. Eric was patient, professional and made sure we had a successful experience. The waves are slow rolling sets without all the traffic and fanfare.

My husband and I signed up and I was terrified. Kane was such an excellent instructor, my fears disappeared completely. My husband and I both were able to get up on the board on the water within the first hour and by the end of the lesson, I was hooked, looking forward to the next time. Husband and I bothe enjoyed and would definitely do it again!

Wonderful experience with Tanner. We had an 8 and 11 year old and I was a little nervous. But he took them out and made them catch waves from the start. They loved the experience!!! He was watching both of them like a hawk. We went in the beginning of April and I would recommend a wet suit for kids - the wind makes you really cold when wet.

From the moment we met up with our surf instructor Sharky, he was the epitome of Hawaiian hospitality and surfing knowledge. Our 12-year old twins were surfing for the first time. He was kind, calm and attentive. We would recommend Sharky to everyone.

Me and my sister are very beginner surfers and we had our lesson with Sharky and it was absolutely so much fun we had such a great time and got much better by the end of the lesson! We can cake back to the same beach the next day to go again, it was that good. Highly recommend to anyone!!!
