Overview
Surf lessons can sometimes be intimidating when there’s only one instructor for a big group. This group surf lesson on Ka'anapali Beach makes sure only one instructor is assigned to three students tops, so you can get the attention you want and need from a lesson. First, spend time on the beach learning surfing techniques in a safe environment, and then hit the water once you feel confident to tackle waves. All equipment, as well as a 3-hour parking validation are included with this Hawaii surf class.

Aloha, your surf lesson is confirmed at Marriott Maui Ocean Club’s north end on the beach next to the Kaanapali Alii resort We’ll text a pinpoint location. If no beach parking, valet at Kā‘anapali Marriott for easier access. Bring sunscreen, water, towel, and swimwear. Call or text if needed.

My friend and I came on one of the windiest days ever, but despite that and our frustration, the instructors never gave up on us and kept us motivated the whole time!

We had the best time at our surf lesson today! The instructors were incredibly friendly and made us feel comfortable right away. They put a big emphasis on safety, which we really appreciated, especially as beginners.
They were so patient and encouraging, and made sure every single person in our group got up on a board (which felt amazing!). You could tell they genuinely cared about us having a great experience, not just getting through the lesson.
It ended up being one of the highlights of our trip We were all smiling the entire time. Highly recommend to anyone thinking about trying surfing!

Our instructor, Nick, was very good and patient. The communication between what was posted on viator, and what we received was not consistent and a little confusing as to where to meet up. Instructions were sent via email from viator, but they were not exactly correct - so we texted with our instructor and it was helpful. There should be a steamlined process of exactly where to meet. Viator told us what to look for and there was none of that. It was Nick on the beach - no table, no umbrella, etc. I'm glad we were able to get in touch with him -otherwise - we would have never been able to find him if following viator instructions. Also - viator should give directions and parking instructions. This is also something we had to figure out on our own. Lastly, what we signed up for included photography options. There are none.. I did not receive any instructions on how to get the "professional photography" that was promised.

Amazing! The best part of our trip to Maui was learning to surf. Nick and Reef were amazing. They were great kind, patient, and gave great feedback. By the third wave we were up and standing! Overall, it was simply fantastic! We will definitely be back.

Great surfing experience! If you pay attention to what he tells you on the beach it makes it easy in the water. Stood up on the first wave. It was so much fun and I would definitely do it again. Clear instructions on where to meet. It was a great time and he’s a great teacher! 🏄🏼♀️🏄🏼♀️

Great lesson! If you’re going solo, don’t worry, this is a great surf lesson to do. Great for beginners. I just wish there was a photographer to capture us on the water—those pictures would be so cool!

The guys were nice and really good with my daughter! They took the group to a spot that was pretty rocky and it was a little rough. Also, if you plan on booking with this company, be mindful of their cancellation policy. They don't accommodate if someone in your party gets sick 3 hours prior to your lesson.

My 8-year-old son and I had an incredible experience with our instructor, Matt. From the start, he made us feel comfortable and confident in the water. His teaching style was both fun and informative. Matt was patient, encouraging, and clearly passionate about what he does. Thanks to his guidance, we were both able to catch some waves and had an absolute blast. If you’re looking for a surf school that’s great for both kids and adults, I highly recommend booking a lesson. We can’t wait to come back!

Our instructors were easy to talk to and gave great instruction! Our 2 boys both got up and surfed and even did a couple of little tricks! The 2 of us adults that were surfing were both able to get up and surf as well. Would highly recommend this company to all that want to surf!

I had a great time learning to surf! The instructions to find the meeting spot were vague, so it's probably a good thing they say to arrive 30 minutes before your start time. The instructor called me and directed me to where the tour was starting. There was no yellow umbrella to look out for, which led to my confusion. However the lesson itself was easy to follow and after about 20 minutes we went into the water. Everyone in the session stood up at least once. The instructors were great at finding waves and telling us when to paddle and stand up. Definitely recommend.

this is my first time surfing with my friends, and I don't feel the lesson is very descriptive or informative. The surfing coach was facing a big group and his voice is just too far and too small for me to hear. It seems the surfing coach does not care so much about how me and my friends were doing as well
