We surf at The Guardrails on Honoapiʻilani Highway (Hwy 30) just south of mile marker 19 in West Maui. When you arrive, please park on the mountainside of the road, safely cross the road, and come down to the beach where our surf instructors will meet you.

He explained everything really well, which made it easy for us as beginners to pick things up quickly. On top of that, he was super friendly and great to talk with. Super fun experience. Waves we're larger than expected, so be prepared if you're a first timer like i was, you may end up paddling quite a ways out, and not realize that until you can finally take a break, and turn around. The instructor was very experienced, and can get a great feel for if this is safe enough for you or not. Just listen, follow directions, and have fun!
We had the best private surf lesson with Austin! He was patient, knowledgeable, and made us feel completely safe and confident in the water from the very first wave. His expert coaching got us both standing up and riding in no time. If you're looking for a top-notch surf lesson, ask for Austin—you won't be disappointed!

I would recommend this to strong swimmers only. Be prepared for big waves but a lot of fun!! Mario was our instructor and he was incredible! He was so knowledgeable and made us feel comfortable.

Instructor was great. It only lasted 1-1/2 hours, not 2. Which they were tired out by, but they shouldn't advertise as a full 2 hours.

Austin was a great trainer. Never surfed before and did pretty well! Super fun and convenient, just the right amount of time

mario is amazing. we got a little tired and he kept us entertained while we caught our breath. his lesson was thorough and we caught some waves. weather and spot was good too.

10/10 experience. Sadly, we had the start time wrong, thankful Ramon gave us a quick call and we were able to still come 20min in. He gave a super helpful introduction to surfing prior to going into the water and went over safety precautions as well. Once we were able to properly get up on the board we got into the water. We had perfect weather and a bunch of waves. We got up almost every time and he made sure to give advice when needed. Honestly coolest guy and worth trying. We got some sick photos as well that we did end up getting. That is a separate charge but worth for almost 100photos.
If you’re considering doing a private lesson or group lesson, do private. We had a couple groups next to us as well that didn’t have as much success as us but they had 2 instructors to 8 people.
Can’t stress enough how worth this experiences was.

Austin was awesome, really helped us figure out the right positions to use on the board and how to get started. He coached us through it and by the end both my brother and I figured out how to smoothly stand on the board. The whole experience was super fun and the photos turned out great.

It can take time to get up. Just don’t give up. They’re amazing and very patient. They show you everything you need to know before they get you in the water. It was really fun to learn how to surf with my oldest son. I would recommend it to friends and family

I highly recommend these lessons. I had taken a lesson several years ago in Oahu and could never get up and stay up on my board. This time, I was not only getting up and riding the waves all the way in, I was catching the waves on my own. The biggest difference is that our instructor Austin changed up the technique I used to get upright. He acknowledged that sometimes taller people (like me) struggle using the method I was taught at the Oahu lesson. So he gave me a method that worked and I had a blast.
