This is a very family friendly activity for anyone wanting to learn to surf. Professional staff. Our instructor, Pablo, was great at explaining technique and helping us catch great waves. My kids took to it quickly and had a great time!

These surf lessons were top notch. My 18 and 17 year olds loved their experience, from the on land instructions, to the in the water experience all details were A+. The photos were amazing also and I’m forever thankful to have them as a keep sake. I highly recommend!

Our instructor Brian was amazing. The lesson was long enough and we got pretty good pretty fast with Brian’s instructions. The photos were great and made it look like we knew what we were doing! We didn’t wait at all, we arrived a little early and almost immediately got down to business, there were no delays eating into our lesson. Equipment was clean and comfortable. We were offered water after our lesson. All around, the service was amazing and we would recommend to anyone staying on the island.

Willow was an amazing instructor! He would provide the feedback after every run to make an improvement. This was our first time taking surf lesson and we had a lot of fun! Kids got confidence to surf by themselves! I highly recommend Maui Surf Club!!

Awesome first surf lesson with Brendon Barber through Surf Club Maui! He was super nice, very personable and knowledgeable. We highly recommend you book with him if possible. We got up on our boards multiple times at our first lesson. It was the highlight of our Maui trip. We will be booking this tour again when we're back on Maui.

Great experience for beginners our kids 9, 11, 12 were up surfing in minutes. Even have turtles swimming around us as we were catching waves!

Anyone can do this. Young or old. I had Bryan as an instructor and Johnny taking photos. They help you get up on the board for the first time. They coach you as you go so you can make improvements. I can’t recommend this enough.

My husband and I had an absolute blast learning how to surf. Our instructor was very attentive and helped everyone get up! Great beginner lesson and lovely company. Would do it again in a heartbeat!

Awesome experience! Pedro was very patient and knowledgeable. The waves weren't super big, but perfect for a bunch of beginners. By the time we were chomping for bigger, we were tired enough to head in. Great time from beginning to end!

David- our instructor was wonderful. I went with my son and husband. We had the basics on land, and then hit the waves. The photographers captured some great pictures of them surfing. They gave real time advice and helped both surf with ease. David was personable and great for our family. Don’t know the other instructors but David was great.
One small deduction is not for the surf school- but location. We were on a very rocky beach. While they did a great job and teaching to fall properly - we all got scraps from the rocks. I ended up just hanging back bc I didn’t feel very comfortable falling in shallow water with the rocks. That’s totally my comfort level- the two boys felt fine but had it been just sandy waters - I would have continued to surf. It’s van-based so maybe it was just the day/location bc it’s not mentioned in other reviews and I wish I would have known that ahead of time. Again- highly recommend regardless.

Branden from Surf Club Maui took great care of our group and made sure we were able to catch good waves, get the right speed and stand up in the correct moment. Without him we would not have been able to score such a fun and successful surf lesson. Had a great morning! The "swimming/wading with hughe turtles was an additional bonus. Had an awesome time, thank you very much! Highly recommended.

Our instructor, Sarge, was encouraging, positive and a wealth of knowledge. We all caught waves. The pictures were incredible too and we couldn’t resist buying them.

This was my first lesson and it was great. I was definitely struggling a lot - have a very hrd time balancing myself - but the instructor was very patient and encouraging. Even the other instructors around the ocean were quite helpful.

Our grandson (15) took his first surfing lesson and absolutely loved it! When he was done he immediately asked if he could do it again! His instructor, Epps, was really good and patient with the kids and very encouraging! The photographers were amazing also!! Definitely get the pics at the end!!!

We had a great time at our surf lesson with Pablo! He did a wonderful job coaching both our teenagers and adults. During the lesson, there was a very good guy photographer that took wonderful action shots of my family. You can purchase the pictures afterwards and I would highly recommend doing this. I forget his name but he took wonderful photos and the purchase process at the end was very easy.

The surf instructors were super professional and very kind. They supported my son while he was learning and turned him loose when they could tell he had the confidence and the skills to get up on the board on his own. We would use this company again and again.

You never know what the wind and tides will bring, but our instructor, Sarge, was excellent. You bring the swimsuit and sunscreen, and the company brings the rest. There's some on-land time for learning the board basics, then right off to the 2 to 4 foot water depth to catch some baby waves. With groups limited to 4 max, you'll have personal time with the instructor as the others are padding back after riding a wave. I'd suggest going early morning for calmer winds, or call the place for tide information if you want to ride in shallower water if you're not confident about swimming.

Great time. Was perfect for me and my young teenagers. Instruction was concise and appropriate. Our instructor, “the Sargent” was very knowledgeable and fun to chill with in between the waves.
