What To Expect

Head to Maui’s South Shore for your surfing lesson, choosing from among a range of morning start times that suit your schedule. Meet your instructor and begin class with a safety lesson on how to enter the water and an introduction to surfing technique.

Spend the next two hours out in the water with your instructor, offering a chance to get the hang of catching a wave, standing up, and riding the wave toward shore. You’ll also learn more about the philosophy behind the surfing mindset, discovering the unique combination of focus and skill required to excel in the ever-changing conditions of the Pacific.

When you finish your two-hour session, head back to shore, where you can celebrate your success during a quick rundown with your instructor. Those who are looking to continue the fun can make plans to take an intermediate or advanced lesson.

Pedro was my girls instructor! He was so awesome! So patient and so good with my little ones! They loved every minute! The pics were worth it! They wanted to go back! FYI they give u rash guard shirts. However we should have bought something to cover my kids legs. They did get the surf board rash. Overalll great experience!

First timer here. Pedro was the instructor. Group of 4. Pedro was very knowledgeable and patient. I got the basics I needed both in and out of the water. At one point, another instructor even helped Pedro to get me standing on the board. I definately need more practice. Rental on my own with Surf Club Maui would be $45. The hardest part was swimming back out to catch a wave, as it was tiring. I cant say enough about how pleased I am with this whole operation. They provided everything I needed for the lesson. All 4 Surf Club Maui people I encountered were happy doing their jobs and I didnt feel like just another tourist. Btw, the photographer captured a great shot of me.

Learning how to surf and also swim with turtles at the same time it’s an amazing experience. Our instructor Epes was amazing and offered us a 10/10 experience. Very kind and patience.
