Discover Maui’s South Shore on a 2.5- or 4.5-hour snorkel and kayak tour. Led by a local guide, you’ll paddle through the scenic Makena Bay on your choice of single or tandem kayaks. Then, take a dip in the water and explore the underwater world on a snorkel tour. Keep your eyes peeled for green sea turtles and other bright marine life. No experience is necessary on this kayak and snorkeling adventure. If desired, your guide will provide beachside paddling instruction before you launch into the water. You’ll head along Maui’s southern shore, past Little Beach and Big Beach, out towards La Perouse Bay. Admire the scenic views from the water while your guide provides commentary about the island.
Then, hit the water! Snap on your snorkel gear and peer into the exotic marine life below. Glide past colorful coral reef, schools of fish and a green sea turtle or two. If you’re up for the 4.5-hour excursion, lunch will be provided along the way.

Our guide, Tyler, was outstanding. He provided clear, encouraging instructions and tailored the experience to fit our interests. We opted to focus on snorkeling and couldn’t be happier. Tyler took us to a spot filled with sea turtles—it felt like swimming in a dream. He also shared fascinating insights about Maui’s marine life and history, which added so much depth to the experience.
We explored a vibrant coral reef full of colorful fish and sea creatures. The entire tour felt safe, personal, and truly special. This was, hands down, the highlight of our trip. Highly recommend!

This is a great trip! Tyler was the best guide. Park in the Makena parking lot and then walk up the road and you’ll see all the tour guides there. There are a few different tours going on in the same area, all small groups of 10 or less. This is way better than the big boat tour. Our guide,Tyler, told us all sorts of stuff about the island and he checked on each of the 9 of us. We stopped in two spots and saw so many turtles! They are everywhere! We had to paddle backward so we wouldn’t bump into o them.

This was a magical trip. Guides are so knowledgeable about Maui and the ocean. The whale watching experience was a bonus to an already great experience.

Excellent experience. We saw numerous sea turtles as well as other sea life. Our guide Miah (Jeremiah) was very informative and entertaining. Highly recommend.

Had an amazing kayaking/snorkeling trip with our guide, Rabbit! He mentioned there were still whale sightings in late April, so we paddled 1.5 miles straight out in the ocean. It paid off! We could hear a baby whale calling to its mom and it jumped 30ft away from me before swimming to her. We then paddled to Turtle Bay to snorkel. There were 10+ turtles and tons of different fish. It was awesome! Rabbit shared a lot of facts and stories with us throughout the trip and answered any questions we had. By far, the best excursion I’ve ever had!

Jake was a great guide. He has extensive knowledge about marine life and could point out many things to us. It was a fun paddle and not too rigorous.

Tyler was awesome! He is extremely knowledgeable and you’ll learn so much about Maui, sea life, and kayaking. He knew all the best snorkeling spots in the area. We got to swim up close with sea turtles. I am expecting and he was extremely kind and accommodating. Would 100% recommend. It was worth every penny!

Knowledge guide. I had no previous experience with kayaking or snorkeling. It was novice friendly. It was a small group with all ages. Everyone looked like they were enjoying the experience.

This was an exciting trip kayaking out in the ocean. We anchored the kayak, then jumped out to snorkel. Immediately we saw beautiful coral, lots of fish, and watched the small fish cleaning the turtles. It was an incredible sight! We loved this experience!

It was fun to go kayaking and snorkeling with the family in a small group! Guide gave us some neat information about Hawaii, and we saw sea turtles, some cool fish and an eel. That being said, we hardly went anywhere in our kayaks, we were hoping to do a lot more paddling and explore more and the snorkeling was right near the shore which we could have done on our own - we thought we would be kayaking to somewhere remote to snorkel.

Tyler was an incredible guide! He was so knowledgeable about the island and the history of Hawaii. Tyler knew all of the best spots and we ended up seeing around 20 sea turtles and other incredible wildlife during our time! We loved our experience and would absolutely recommend!

Seeing and swimming right next to the turtles was absolutely amazing and an unforgettable experience. It took a few minutes to find the area with turtles, but once we did we saw 4-5 at a time. Our instructor, Tyler, was so patient and kind! It was my first time kayaking and second time snorkeling and Tyler was very informative, told all of us to take our time, and kept pointing out the turtles when they came to the surface. Overall, it was an amazing time and a highlight of our trip!

Our guide Tyler was awesome. He was very knowledgeable and helpful for beginners the whole time. I was not good at snorkeling and he towed be around as I looked in the water to see turtles and fish! Thank you for making it so memorable!

Gorgeous scenery but too much talking and not enough kayaking and snorkeling from the guide. Also, he offered an extra photo package and there were barely any pics of us in the water. Bit disappointed since we paid a lot

Turtle Town was better than we’d ever imagined it would be. Turtles everywhere! Our guide, Cody was the best. Our daughter is an introvert and typically takes awhile to get comfortable with new people and experiences but he was able to pull her out of her shell and give her amazing memories from this dive.

We had an amazing time, l highly recommend this tour especially it you’re visiting Maui during whale season. Our guide Tyler was the best, he walked us through everything and made us very comfortable. Be sure to wear a hat a sunglasses, but bring only the essencials with you (stuff is going to get wet). We got to see whales really close to us, and of course many turtles when snorkeling. 10/10 experience

Cody, was great. Patience and fun. Better than expected.
We were on the Kaanapali side and wished I had known the location. We took off from Wailea side. Not convenient, but Uber did take us and it was not cheap. But we found it. So it’s a lesson learned.
I had booked it online before I arrived. Next time I will make sure I book on the side we are staying.
This was my error! Turtles, fish and much more were fun to see. Plus the kayak adventure was super.
