We had an incredible afternoon on the water with Captain Larry and team! We saw many humpback whales and a family of orcas! It was one of our favorite experiences for our entire trip to Alaska! Don’t hesitate to book this excursion!

The staff were terrific! Our cruise ship was running late and without even asking the team rebooked us on a later whale watching tour. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and very attentive. We had a terrific time and actually saw groups of orca Wales along with some humpback.s. The captain made a great effort for us to have a good view. I would highly recommend this company for your whale watching experience in Juneau!

This was such a great excursion, with all that was promised, plus a few surprizes that made the trip an 11 out of 10! Gwen and Claire know so much about whales that they had answers to all of our questions, and it is obvious they really love what they do. James was excellent as the captain of our ship, and Lexi was hilarious and fun as our tour guide to and from the dock. I can’t think of anything that could have made this trip any better!

From the nice people greeting us, the excellent ship crew and the amazing whales, dolphins, seals and a pod of seven orcas it was better than we hoped for.
Van was easy to find and from there we just put ourselves into the crews hands and all was great. Definitely recommend to people of all ages.

Amazing experience! Very knowledgeable crew and beautiful boat! It’s been a few years since we have been. Now they even can ID the whales by name. Really enjoyable. Just stepped off our cruise ship and met the group.

Michelle, Gwen, and Morgan were great and engaging. However-the itinerary says we’d stop for five minutes at mendenhall glacier (and stay on the bus) -we never stopped nor was it even pointed out. I’m bummed about that. Next, it seems like other boats were able to get a little closer to the whales. Lastly, I didn’t read that we’d be stuck on an indoor boat resembling the Stanton island ferry and only let out when a whale was sighted. That ruined it for me. Let us out! That was SO lame. Feel like I wasted my time while in Juneau.

We were picked up at the cable car station by a very lively and passionate young bus driver who should seriously consider a career in stand up comedy. I would come see her show!!! The crew on the ship were also informative and helpful; it was evident that these are passionate professionals in their field.

Our excursion with Alaska Tales was amazing. We saw so many whales and our captain (Krichelle) would get us as close as possible without putting us in danger. Sophie and Morgan our tour guides were very knowledgeable and helped us spot a lot of the whales before we would see them. It was an amazingly wonderful experience.

A very satisfying experience as we sighted humpbacks and numerous Orcas. The tour guides, bus driver, and boat captain were all very informative, entertaining, and considerate of others.

We saw many whales during our trip! The grand finale, like a firework show, were a few whales jumping for about 2 minutes! I got it all on video! It was an unbelievable time and to top it off....the weather was so warm (May 25th) we did not even need a coat! The staff on the boat were absolutely amazed with the weather and the sighting we saw!

Let me start by saying that it was a wonderful experience. Our crew (James, Ashley and Taylor) were incredible. Things I did that helped were: taking a raincoat with.you, good gloves and/or hand warmers and hat.
Also you can get the most out of the experience if you get a little educated on the different types of whale tails before you go.
Price was very reasonable. There is pick up and drop off at no extra charge,

It was really easy to find and run extremely well. It can be nerve wracking when you book from a non-cruise provider because there are no guarantees that they will get you back on time, but these guys were very professional. They knew where to go to find the whales and the conservation experts were on point the whole time and they got us back on time!! Nate, Ash, and Captain Larry were the best!!!!

Amazing experience. Booked last minute and could not have been a better whale watching trip. Saw tons of whales, sea lions and watched a whale fully breach right next to our boat. The crew was excellent. Truly a 10 out of 10 experience!!!

This was great! We saw whales up close and breaching. We also got to see sea lions. The crew James, Nate, and Claire were great and knowledgeable. We also did a quick drive by of the glacier. This is a great quick 3 hour tour of you need something to do.

The young woman (Morgan?) that conducting our whale watching, was very knowledgable and friendly. We saw many whales and enjoyed watching the seals. We learned a lot about whales, sea life in general and living conditions of the animals in Juneau’s ocean (Pacific Ocean). The interior was mostly comfortable. We did experience seating issues, unrelated to the tour. One couple took our original seats and another woman saved 2 rows, of 8 seats, for her family that didn’t require all of the seats. We ended up seated apart and in uncomfortable situations. Viewing outside the cabin was great. We have many many photos and videos. But the memories are the best.
The bus driver was very informative and entertaining. He made the ride more enjoyable.

Truly great experience. We did the tour with Whale Tale group and they were awesome. The transportation to the bay was nice. We saw bears and eagles from the bus on the way. Lots of whales , as well as a few sea lions from the boat. All in all great time was had by all.

Our trip started with a short ride in a bus with our driver, Aidan. He kept the ride entertaining! Our guides on the boat were Morgan and Sophie. The boat was clean and had a bathroom. We saw multiple pods of orcas and a humpback whale that the crew identified by his tail markings. We actually saw Kelp twice in different locations. We also saw sea lions lounging on a buoy. The crew was very knowledgable. Overall it was a wonderful experience!
