One of our favorite experiences in Alaska! Juneau as a port was very disappointing, just one diamond international store after another. It was so refreshing to have David pick us up and drive us out of the tourist madhouse to go see what makes Juneau and Alaska a gorgeous place. He drove us to 2 different locations to get views of Mendenhall glacier. Gave us information about the area. The trip out to the Temple of St. Teresa was amazing. He gave us time to walk around and take it all in. He pointed out wildlife and plant life and explained how Alaskans use the environment around them. He drove us to his favorite places. It was such an enjoyable afternoon. We loved it all!

Go wherever you want to go but the driver will provide good recommendations. Juneau is so beautiful there are lots of options. It’s great having your own driver.

Private tours are thebest! Aleta informed us where she would be and a picture so we would recognize her helpful. Tour was amazing and pictures we took so great. Would do private tours again and again to avoid walking too much and avoiding large bus loads.

This was the perfect way to see Juneau. Aleta was a great tour guide. We learned a lot about Alaska. She made sure we saw the places that were important to us and we feel like we got to see so much more than if we had gone on a big group tour.

The pre-trip communication was excellent and made everything easy to understand ahead of time. The morning of the excursion was simple and well organized, which made for an stress-free start. Aleta did an incredible job sharing the history of the town and surrounding area. Being away from the large bus tours made the experience much more relaxing, personal, and informative. We really enjoyed the pace and appreciated the local knowledge that made the excursion feel special. And got to see and enjoy bears.

Got to see all the major sites of Juneau, plus a black bear and a beautiful shot of the glacier. Our guide was wonderful, he knew all about Alaska and answered any questions and was able to point out animals left and right.

We had a group of eight ranging in age from 11 to 70, and everyone enjoyed the experience (with the possible exception of our 11-year-old, who decided the van was the perfect place for a nap).
Ray was friendly, accommodating, and made sure we saw some beautiful scenery and viewpoints that we likely would have missed on our own. The smaller, private format was a nice change from larger tour groups and allowed us to move at a comfortable pace.
One thing worth noting is that our group tends to be very curious, and we enjoy learning about the places we visit. We asked quite a few questions about the local environment, glaciers, wildlife, and geography. Ray was happy to answer what he could, but we were hoping for a deeper level of interpretation and local knowledge than was provided.
That said, if your goal is a comfortable, scenic tour of Juneau with a personable guide and some fantastic views, this is a great option. We had a very enjoyable morning and were glad we booked it.

This was the best tour!!
Not too long and not too short. Just the perfect amount of time to leave us time to tour the town and go to Jelly Fish Donuts for a sweet treat.
Family of 8 - from 8 years old to 67 years old.
Aleta was out tour guide and she was amazing! From meeting us at the top of the pier, to water for all, a container of snacks and a first aid kit and extra binoculars, Aleta was prepared for anything and everything!
The vehicle was clean and roomy and in excellent condition.
We viewed the beautiful Mendenhall Glacier from vantage points were we didn't have any crowds. Visited the shrine of Saint Therese which I loved ( and I met a priest from home!!). we saw bears and lots of eagles.
This was the perfect tour for our family.
Aleta also stopped at the best spot for glacier viewing which had a little beach . Everyone enjoyed walking around, the little kids ran around and everyone skipped rocks across the water.
Before we left, Aleta asked to take a family photo which made me so happy.

Avoid the overpriced cruise ship cattle car tours. For less money, Aleta will provide a custom tour that fits your interests and level of activity. It’s like comparing basic economy to first class: there is no comparison! Highly recommend!

Aleta was great. The tour was not what I expected. Recommends asking guest their preference. A lot of history would have liked more scenic and sightseeing. Did not got to douglas. St Therese was the major highlight.

Dave was amazing in telling us little personal bits about the area, fun stories, showed us hidden gems and amazing viewpoints that he went out of his way to get us to. He made sure we could get perfect photos with perfect angles, stopped to absorb the experience, helped find appropriate bathroom stops and was generally very lovely. He let us use his binoculars and helped my family with mobility issues as much as he could. He was brilliant at spotting whales, deer, bears and eagles along the way and we had the most magical experience seeing a whale from the shoreline. The best trip we had venturing up and down Alaska!

This was a perfect way to spend the morning. Our guide, David, picked us up at the airport and we got to travel a good portion of the Juneau area. He took us to some very nice secluded spots where we watched Eagles and ducks. David was pleasant and professional and modified our trip for a limited mobility person.

We had a fantastic tour with our local guide, Aleta! Our family was traveling with two little kids and this was the perfect tour to accommodate all our needs (even a McDonalds bathroom stop for the kids). Aleta met us in downtown Juneau with a well stocked van full of snacks, water, and even an activity book for the kids. Our trip started with an enjoyable and scenic ride through the town of Juneau. Then Aleta took us to the perfect viewing spot of the Mendenhall Glacier that avoided the crowds and allowed us to take the best family photos in front of the stunning scenery. Aleta did a wonderful job of finding the best wildlife spots and we were fortunate to see eagles and a mama bear with her 3 baby cubs! A major highlight that not many other tours listed was the National Shrine of St. Therese. Our family could have spent the whole day taking in the beautiful landscape. Overall a wonderful and extremely relaxed tour that we would highly recommend, especially for families.

We booked a private tour in Juneau with friends and family, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Our guide, David, was incredibly knowledgeable and went above and beyond. He didn’t just take us to the popular spots — he also brought us to meaningful, lesser‑known locations that he personally felt were important to share.
We saw an amazing amount of wildlife, including bears, whales, sea lions, eagles, and deer. The scenic drives were stunning, and many of the views felt completely private, like they were just for us.
Overall, it was a fantastic day and I absolutely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a personal and memorable Juneau experience.

Would highly recommend this service for anyone traveling to Juneau. Even though it was pouring rain the day we were in town, our driver made the best of it and made sure we had a great time. There were 4 of us in our group, and we all loved the tour and our driver. His stories and just chatting with us made the tour so much better!!

We had an absolutely fantastic localized tour with Aleta from Juneau Pvt Tours, and we cannot recommend her highly enough!
From start to finish, her communication was excellent—she was informative, engaging, and made sure we didn't miss a thing. We had a truly memorable time exploring Juneau's highlights, including the stunning Mendenhall Glacier and the serene Shrine of St. Thérèse.
The wildlife viewing was spectacular. Beyond an incredible watching experience, we lucky enough to see a bear, a deer, a majestic Bald Eagle, and even a Sea Lion!

We had a great tour with Aleta. She was on time and took us to all the beautiful places in Juneau. She knew her way around to spots that allowed us to see all the sights without crowds.
Aleta put our tour onto two separate groups of black bears that was amazing along with some Eagles.

Get to know the genuine Juneau with this excellent tour. We were a multi-generational group and this had something for everyone. Joel, our guide was new to the job, but not new to Juneau. His expertise and love for the area really shined through. Our greatest surprise was the Shrine of St. Therese. What a gem! While you don't get up close to the Mendenhall Glacier - the two vantage points were EXCELLENT! Plus, with older travelers it was easier for them. Kids loved spotting a bear and our driver got us a great vantage point. Highly recommend this tour.
