Get to know the genuine Juneau with this excellent tour. We were a multi-generational group and this had something for everyone. Joel, our guide was new to the job, but not new to Juneau. His expertise and love for the area really shined through. Our greatest surprise was the Shrine of St. Therese. What a gem! While you don't get up close to the Mendenhall Glacier - the two vantage points were EXCELLENT! Plus, with older travelers it was easier for them. Kids loved spotting a bear and our driver got us a great vantage point. Highly recommend this tour.

Absolutely loved this tour! He was so friendly, flexible, and knowledgeable! Helped us spot wildlife, see different things that weren't covered by the Cruise ship tours, and even took us to pick a few wild huckleberries and blueberries. Would absolutely book this tour again!

This was the best tour we did our entire time in Alaska. Please ask for Dave. He was phenomenal. He took us by and explained everything with such deep understanding. He was a wealth of information he even extended our tour, a bit to get us views of the glacier the fog wasn’t quite cooperating, but he continued to try until we did get to see a bit of it our entire group of 12 loved this tour and loved Dave again. I highly recommend Dave and this tour. He dropped us off in town when we were done and even ran a couple people back to the ship that didn’t want to go to town. Thanks again Dave great tour

We were on a cruise ship and wanted to see Juneau without having to be on a bus or drive around ourselves. We hired Viator for a three hour scenic tour. Our driver was David he was on time and helped us in and out of the van. He was absolutely amazing so informative gave us snacks and water and was pointing out things that we didn’t even notice. He took so many memorable pictures of our group with our phones. He brought along binoculars so we could see glaciers from afar. Let us have rest breaks and was just the kindest person you’d ever wanna meet We got to see salmon trying to swim upstream and beautiful architectural buildings. We will go back in two years and we would definitely request David again. Thank you, Gina S.

It’s not as advertised. We expected to spend time at the Mendenhall glacier but we were only able to drive by and take pictures out the window.

Joel was a fabulous tour guide. He made us feel right at home with his laid back conversation woven into his heartfelt commentary on his hometown. The sites he took us to were some of the most beautiful, picturesque places we had ever seen. We loved that he was just a regular guy showing us the beauty of God’s creation in a place that he loves! No one showed or responded. Got a Viator bot trying to help us. It was pointless- suggesting things I’d already done (in my initial description of what I did). Got a human who said “give me a min. to review” then asked me the same questions! If he’d really read, he’d see my booking# and all I’d done! Ended up spending another fortune for a lesser tour in a trolley and no refund so far, just stupid requests to “review your tour!” Frustrating, embarrassing (I’d booked for my family) and wasted precious port time.

Our guide was Dave and he tailored the 3 hour tour to our needs. We had seen the town of Juneau on prior trips so this was a chance to see more of the natural sights; Mendenhall away from the tourist area, St. Therese chapel, smaller ports and beautiful scenery. I recommend this tour if you don’t want to see Juneau town again. Dave was a friendly and informative guide.

Joel was a wonderful guide. He took us by the major landmarks in town and then to some beautiful, peaceful views out from town. We saw lots of eagles and he even found some salmon still swimming. It's a great way to spend a few hours in Juneau.

We had a great tour with our guide, Joel! He is native to the area and gave us lots of helpful information and history. He took us to the St. Theresa Shrine, which was our main reason for going on that particular tour, and it was beautiful there. Joel even helped us spot a whale while we were at the shrine. David was very friendly, took the extra time to describe and made loops for more opportunities to see wildlife, very knowledgeable and had eyes like a hawk!! We were a group of 11 friends that enjoyed our wonderful guide, and to add the best weather in Juneau having a great time!

Perfect way to see the scenic areas surrounding Juneau. Pick up was easy, just steps from our cruise ship landing. Van was very accommodating for our party of 4. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, having grown up in Juneau. Seeing sites away from the city was why we chose this tour and it was well worth it.

The pick up was a disappointment. I received a text from Joel to inform us he was at the meet up location. Once we arrived there I texted to let him know we were there. No Joel! There was a white van there that we approached and John was the driver. He informed us Joel left with a different group. We ended up with John who was great. The overall tour was great. The advertisement says water and Alaskan snack are included. I did not know that Costco granola bars were considered Alaskan themed

We were so lucky to have Joel with Juneau Private Tours for our guide. He grew up in Juneau and knew so much its history. He's related to people who had impacted to what Juneau had evolved today. He brought us to the most interesting highlights like the salmon hatchery, totem poles, glacier views and the National Shrine of St. Therese. We luckily saw a bear along the river bank!

We had a wonderful time on this tour. We saw many great sites and our tour guide, Joel, got us to Skaters cabin in the nick of time. We happened to be there the day the flooding started and if it weren’t for Joel’s quick thinking we would have missed the opportunity to get a great picture of the Mendenhall glacier. We also saw some other great sites such as St. Teresa’s shrine and Overstreet park. Thank you so much, Joel.

Captain John was a wonderful tour guide. He knew all of the right places to observe wildlife. We really enjoyed seeing a bear cub catch some lunch and our visit to the church spotting whales. His recommendation for a silly picture at the whale fountain captured a favorite memory from our trip.
