Whale Watching With a Peek at the Mendenhall Glacier

This tour includes two hours on the water following the whales, and a quick 15 minute peek at the Mendenhall Glacier. It is just enough time to step off the bus, take a quick picture, and then head back downtown for the rest of your Alaska adventure! This tour is recommended for those who want to see the glacier, but don't want to spend too much time exploring the surrounding recreation area. On this tour, you will take one of the tour buses from downtown Juneau on a 20-minute, narrated tour through Juneau and Mendenhall Valley to Auke Bay. In Auke Bay you will board one of the boats and head out on a 2-hour whale watching experience. Upon returning to the harbor you will be escorted back to the bus for a quick trip inland to Mendenhall Glacier. You will have 15 minutes to get out and take a quick picture, and then get back on the bus for your next adventure in Juneau.

Great trip all around. Pick up at dock, bus was comfortable and driver was entertaining, boat was new clean with big Yamaha power comfortable seats and clean heads. Captain was engaging and informative, crew professional and accommodating. Bus got us back intime to grab a crab at Tracie's

Great Excursion - 10/10 Recommend

Great experience once they got everyone loaded onto buses. Our whale watching guides were wonderful (Brock & crew…..), and made our whale watching adventure so exciting. We were fortunate in that we saw the rare bubble net feeding within moments of arriving in the whale watching viewing area. The bus ride there was great as well. Our driver (Clachelle?) was very informative along the route. Our driver coming back after the whale watching adventure (Rorie?) was great as well. Learned alot about Juneau and Alaska on the ride back to the pier. A little misunderstanding - our booking said we would experience a 5 min viewing of Mendenhall Glacier for a photo opportunity as part of our excursion. However, we followed the instructions as given to us by the tour guides, and with the color of tickets that we were given upon checking in for our excursion, and the bus we were directed to after the whale watching portion never included that photo opportunity/viewing of Mendenhall Glacier. All in all, it was a great experience and would do it again. Just wished we would have been able to see the Mendenhall Glacier.

Loved it!

Fantastic day on the boat. The weather was cruddy but we had a fabulous time. Lots of whales and info passed along from captain and naturalist (sorry I can not remember their names). Naturalist even took some pics with long lens camera that she shared with us. I passed them off as my own when I showed the kids. I was so happy that my husband was able to experience this bucket list item. It is a small operation (1 boat) and done perfectly.

We had an amazing day. Everyone who worked together to coordinate the experience was amazing. I would love to give a special shout out to the naturalist on board. Kyla was exceptional. She was so knowledgeable and personable which created a top notch experience.

The Best Whale Watch!

An awesome whale watching tour. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable! Tourin on a smaller vessel slows for a more intimate experience, and better viewing! You can book directly through the tour company or through Viator, instead of the cruise line to save some money. The best whale watch I have ever been on ...and I have been on many!
