The bus driver, Clark was fabulous! He was a plethora of information about Alaska and her history and he was very kind, offering me his coat because I was cold. The food was very nice and the heaters around this outdoor activity were very helpful.

The staff A++ , from the drivers to anyone we spoke to in the area was amazing, very knowledgeable and friendly. Beautiful scenery, fun little trail to try your hand at gold panning, waterfall, etc.
However the main reason we booked this excursion was to eat some delicious Alaskan Salmon. We were extremely disappointing to say the least. The salmon was bland, our first time through the line it was also undercooked. By bland I mean zero flavor. Very sad because we would have gone to a nice restaurant for cheaper and better quality but we thought this would be a fun experience. If you are going to call yourselves a salmon bake, I would think your salmon needs to be top notch. The corn bread and ribs were pretty good, but I wanted the Alaskan Salmon flavor.
I would say save your money, eat in town.

Gold Creek Salmon bake was a wonderful experience. It was a rainy day when we went and we were still able to stay dry and enjoy our meal. The live music and campfires made the environment so inviting. The food was SO DELICIOUS and the staff was welcoming and kind. The short walk to the waterfall was beautiful. 10/10 experience!

The food was really good. The grounds included a really nice waterfall. And the weather is not always cold, lol.

This was a Fun experience in an awesome location ❤️ The salmon was amazing too. Lots to do with a waterfall to view, panning for gold, and a campfire with marshmallows.

Salmon is cooked on the fire just as you walk in. Food is excellent. Decided to go back a 2nd time. Salmon, coleslaw, baked beans and fire roasted marshmallows were the best for us.

Pretty location, good food. I had hoped this would be a little more traditional with salmon cooked on boards around an open pit or something similar. Had a nice time, staff were very friendly. I just think it's a bit over sold

Easy to find pick up on the dock at Juneau, bus transfer with informative Sherry the driver. Good choice of salad, cornbread and cheesy potatoes and lovely salmon and ribs. Spend as long as you want there and get any bus back. Loved it.

Great food. The smell as soon as you get off the bus was amazing. The salmon was cooked too perfection. All you can eat, too! They also have a buffet of sides (coleslaw, salads, beans, ribs, etc) highly regime for the price.

Not quite worth the money. I really wanted to like this excursion. My issue was the over cooked salmon that had a lot of bones. If you can stomach that, it’s great. The setting is beautiful and there’s a pretty waterfall to walk to. I just don’t think it’s all worth $80.

The food was great and atmosphere was so pretty! Take the time to walk the few minutes to the waterfall area.

Great food, good music and fun venue. Short easy walk to beautiful waterfall. Small gift shop with local Products. Food was buffet style and all you can eat.

Good food with roasting marshmallows over an open fire and stunning waterfall in the back. Overall a nice afternoon.

The food was a little cold and the rain made it feel colder outside but the experience was still amazing! Danny was the person guiding us and she was a pleasure!

It was wonderful except for the rain and a bit cold. The food was amazing and the staff we encountered were also great.

Disappointing is an understatement as the Tour Operator was a 'No Show' despite email confirmation. If you are a cruise passenger, I do not recommend you book through this company. We had the unfortunate situation where our ship's arrival was delayed due to a medical situation. We received a email from the tour operator on the morning of our cruise notifying us that they were aware of our ship's situation and had adjusted our excursion time accordingly. We followed the instructions provided, only to find that the Tour Operator wsd a 'No Show'. Upon contacting the Tour Operator, they showed no empathy and instead said they could do nothing as we booked through Viator. This is despite receiving an email from the Tour Operator that morning. As a result we were left disappointed and annoyed we were so easily dismissed by a representative of the Tour Operator. I would not recommend this company and would advise any cruise passengers to seriously consider their options before booking this tour.
Noting, we have booked many excursions through Viator and this is the first to go awry. No fault of Viator at all.

The pick up was easily located once you were in the city. The guide was very easy to locate.
The food was plentiful and tasty. Having live entertainment added a special touch.
I would recommend this excursion.

Our family loved the ambiance but thought the cost was really high for the food per person. The transport system was a little rocky with the way it was managed, Drivers were not counting as people entered the buses, requiring people to back out of bus and then missing opportunity to board the next bus because it was already being filled up. Fortunately buses were running often, but could have been smoother.

I had high hopes for the Juneau Gold Creek Salmon Bake, but unfortunately, it fell short in several key areas. The salmon was just okay—nothing memorable, and certainly not the star of the show as advertised. The ribs were served cold, which was a real letdown, and the baked beans were also cold and bland. For a place that prides itself on hearty Alaskan fare, the execution was surprisingly poor.
Drink options were extremely limited—barely more than lemonade-aid, iced tea. The outdoor setting could have been charming, but it felt more like a tourist churn than a genuine Alaskan experience.
Honestly, you’d be better off spending your money at a nice restaurant in town where the food is fresh, the drinks are flowing, and the service is attentive. This felt more like a box to check off a cruise itinerary than a culinary highlight. Disappointed.

Great food, fabulous, friendly staff. Good for all people regardless of mobility issues. Even the side dishes were fabulous. We roasted marshmallows And took the short easy hike to the waterfalls. Grounds are well kept, very clean. I'd do it again.

AAA+++ It was a nice evening with friends and families.
Very good services and history.
Thanks to cooker

The atmosphere is great! Live music, plenty to eat, roasting marshmallows, gold mining, and a beautiful waterfall and creek. But the food was mediocre. They drop you off and you can stay and eat as long as you want to. Buses leave every 20-25 minutes to return you to town. Kids would probably love it.

We had another good visit at this salmon bake. We come here every time we are in town. We like to improvement they kept making on the ground, Service and food was really good. We will come back again next time when we are in town.

Delicious. Nice experience. Food was good. Atmosphere was fun. Entire family enjoyed the experience.

This experience is designed to accommodate a large number of cruise tourists. The outdoor setting is pleasant beside a flowing creek and waterfall. The food is what you might expect from an all you can buffet; it's okay but not remarkable. My piece of grilled salmon was for my taste was overcooked and dry, although that be what cruise patrons prefer. I bought a pint of local amber beer which was quite good but the $10 a pint was a surprise. We tried the blueberry cake for dessert; the flavor was okay but it was so dry that it crumbled off of the fork. We also tried the hot apple cider. It was more like hot apple syrup, just too sweet for my pallet. The musician was excellent; he played a lot of easy listening James Taylor classics. It was not loud or obtrusive. I can recommend visiting Gold Creek Salmon Bake for the experience, but be aware that the food is average prepared for tourists who will probably never return. They do provide transportation to and from the cruise ship docks, but if you are staying in a hotel they will not accommodate you, but require you to find your way to the cruise dock pick up point.

This excursion was a great concept, food and scenery was nice, but they should definitely limit the number of people there at one time. You stood in line the majority of time you are there either for the buffet line or to get back on the bus, there is ONLY marshmallows, not Smores. A staff member said the management refuses to take that part off the listing. We probably wouldn’t do this again if we knew the facts.
Gail_D, Jul 2025
Relaxing cool setting. Food was fantastic. Service was excellent, music was comforting. Great scenery and picture opportunities galore!
Michaela_C, Jul 2025
Beautiful setting, lots of history, salmon in the creek, good food and music! Friendly staff and well-maintained facilities.
Monica_S, Jul 2025
The food simply was not to our liking. There’s nothing else to do here so if you’re not interested in eating, you’re just sitting there watching others eat.
Teresa_G, Jun 2025
I really wanted to like this but nothing that was promised in the description was what it was. We were told when we booked that there would be s'mores. Yeah none. Not any marshmallows at all. As soon as we got picked up the driver told us her intercom system was broken and she wasn't going to yell to give us info. That was crap. Then when we got there they started breaking down one side of the food bar and had to wait in a long line to even get one plate let alone anything extra. Was told it had chicken as well as ribs and salmon. No chicken at all. The only thing that even was remotely as promised was the waterfall but that would be hard to screw up. Wish we hadn't of booked this at all. Not worth the $75 a person.
