Amazing tour!! I am a 15 year old girl who went on the tour with my mom and 13 y/o sister. This was truly a great experience all around and we recommend it to anyone!! The tour guide, Nia, was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and she really helped make the excursion so memorable. Truthfully, she was one of the best guides I’ve had on any tour. Our captain Simon was also friendly and the two guides paired well as a team. Everything went smoothly: we were directed to our boat quickly, we were advised on how to spot the whales, and we ended up seeing both humpback whales and orcas! We were even given snacks and hot cocoa!! It was overall so entertaining and I had loads of fun. Totally recommend to everyone.

30 minutes on the bus out to the boat and great trip out to the open waters where we observed Humpbacks surfacing and diving to the bottom showing that iconic tail fin unique to individual whales a must and I'd do it again any day

This was the first time I ever booked with Viator. They were fantastic! Our drive picked us up when they said and was there and returned us back to our ship. The tour itself was the best. Our captain and naturalist were great. They took us out and the first thing we saw were 2 Orca whales which are rare. We then went out further where we saw several other humpbacks. One of them even breached which was fantastic! I would highly recommend recommend Viator & the whale watching excursion.

Everything about the booking was efficient and easy. The meet up and drop off spot was easy breezy! The excursion…OMG! was simply amazing. Rio, our naturalist was absolutely the best. He was knowledgeable and he seemed like he really enjoyed his job. And the Captain really knew how to navigate the waters. We seem many humpbacks and rarely seen Orcas. I would definitely recommend you book now!

It was a very mediocre tour. The bus ride to the boat was not informative-mostly corny jokes and the guide didn’t point out wildlife or local attractions. We drove within eyesight of a glacier with no mention of it. The whale watching was ok. The tour guides obviously can’t control where the whales are and we did see several, but they were pretty far away and not the close encounters we were hoping for. Our naturalist was ok-a bit off putting but knowledgeable about the whales. Overall it was just a very mediocre experience-not worth the money we paid in my opinion.

Whale Watching in Juneau – Highly Recommended!
We had an amazing experience whale watching in Juneau! Our guide, Nai, was absolutely wonderful—friendly, passionate about her job, and incredibly knowledgeable. She gave us clear directions and safety instructions, and even shared helpful tips on how to spot when a whale might be near.
Captain Jay was equally impressive. His navigation skills were excellent, and he made sure we were always in the right spot to see whales up close. Thanks to him, we had plenty of opportunities to take great photos and enjoy the incredible views.
Overall, it was a smooth, safe, and unforgettable trip. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Juneau!

Captain Perry and Naturist Sam took great care of us and gave us some amazing views of several whales. The boat is super clean and well maintained and has a bathroom on board. While inside the boat you are protected from the weather and there is a small deck on the front and the back that let you get some amazing views. Sam shared a ton of knowledge about the whales and the area.

Great experience. It was evident that Perry was an experienced and knowledgeable captain. Sam was a wealth of information about whales, interesting and enthusiastic. We would go on an excursion with them again and highly recommend Dolphin Jet Boat Tours!

They have poor communication to people outside of the tour boat. They would not communicate by email or phone text to help prior to the pick up point for bus. They are focused on tour boat service.

Nia and Perry were wonderful tour guides - they were knowledgeable, entertaining and gave it there all to try to get us to see whales. While we were lucky enough to be able to see a lot of whales (and a baby whale breaching!), the tour would have been wonderful regardless thanks to the kindness and incredibly positive energy Nia provided! We never spend extra money on excursions and I am so grateful we chose this specific tour to spend our money on. We were a group of 18 people and everyone had a magical time!

The tour was fantastic. Viator utilizes Dolphin Jet Boat Tours for the excursion. We went out on the Raven's Journey with Captain Perry. The naturalist on board as well as the Captain were exceptional. Our bus driver Sam was also great. The boat itself is ideal and the best from the ones we saw on the water in terms of comfort and size. Snacks are provided at the mid point of the trip. We saw several whales as well as seals and got sufficiently close to both for pictures.

The staff was great and knowledgeable and knew how to find the whales! The coffee, hot chocolate and snacks was a nice touch as well. I wish the platforms of the boat were a little bigger so we all had room to comfortable stand outside. But it wasn’t a big deal.

This was great a great trip. We got lucky and had only 6 people on our boat (no cruise ships were in port that morning) and must have seen 10 whales. A very special experience.
