DO NOT book this Scam Excursion!

Visiting the Pantheon is amazing, but do not book this excursion. We waited for 45mins at the designated meeting place and no one showed. Finally got the tickets via WhatsApp after contacting CIS Tours, but only when we were in the queue to buy our tickets independently. We were sent a link to access the guide via the app which we downloaded while in the Pantheon although advised via WhatsApp to do this beforehand so we could read it in advance. The In-app was useless as impossible to hear in th We could have bought our own tickets on the day for €5 each instead of being ripped off by Viator and CIS Tours.

BEWARE - Do NOT choose this tour!!

Bait & Switch!!! There is no guide at the meeting location. WE WERE NOT ABLE TO SEE THE INTERIOR OF THE PANTHEON.. Shame on Viator for not vetting their third party tour providers.

First, our tour guide wasn’t there with the blue C.I.S. sign by the elephant statue like the directions stated, but thankfully I asked another tour company and they called them for us. It was randomly just us where other guides had ton of people. The lines were over an hour or two long, so I was thankful we did the skip-the-line. Our guide came, smoked the entire way to the entrance and then left us. No explanation or anything, so just remember, this isn’t a tour it’s just an entry ticket. Others were upset that we were cutting them in line when they had been waiting forever, but our guide didn’t care and told us to ignore them. We got in and to be honest, there’s not much to see, but still worth going and having a look since this is such a famous site. I’m also learning that Viator is much more expensive than buying tickets on an Italian website or when you get to Italy, but you better plan ahead because so many sell out day of.

We were able to bypass the long line of tourists and walk right into the building. We didn’t get a guided tour or an audio recording. This was a self guided tour at your own pace which is what we were interested in.
