We were unsure of what to do with our free day. We scheduled this two days in advance and it was such a blast to go and see the ruins of Pompeii and the beautiful Amalfi Coast. The tour guide was very helpful in giving ideas on how best to use your day.

We had an amazing experience on our Italy excursion to Pompeii and Positano with our tour guide, Ion! He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and professional throughout the entire day. Ion brought the history of Pompeii to life with fascinating stories and made sure we had plenty of time to enjoy the beautiful scenery and charm of Positano.
He was also very attentive and helpful, making the whole experience smooth, enjoyable, and stress-free. We truly appreciated his passion for Italy and his great sense of humor. We highly recommend Ion to anyone looking for an unforgettable tour of Pompeii and Positano!

Ion was a great tour guide. He had a lot of recommendations for us not only in Positano but for Rome also

Very long day, but worth it
I thought they should supply water for bus ride, it was extremely hot
I would have liked to have seen a little more of Amalfi
Flavio our guide was very personable and informative

Mari was one of our guides. While all our tours I rate 5* for this one I give 3*. This is not because the tour was bad, it was amazing. But, it was too much packed in one day which I don’t recommend. If you are heading for a long road to Amalfi coast, you need at least a day. We had only 1.5 hrs which is nothing but to take photos and get back. Pompei took majority of the day - incredible to see it on a separate day. The pit stops at the Cassino was poor. Limoncello factory (yes, included as an extra stop to change in vans) was very short. All in all, Mari, our guide was incredible and tumbs up to her and Berta at the Pompei. Hope this is helpful.

Hi Jelena,
Thank you for your detailed feedback!
We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the tour and that Mari and Berta made such a great impression.
We understand your comments about the packed itinerary and limited time in Amalfi.
We appreciate your helpful suggestions and will share them with our team.

Amazing and the best way to see Pompei and Positano from Rome. The coaches are very comfortable and makes the long rides to and from manageable. Amazing guides. Wear comfortable walking shoes and if its summer get a hat with big veranda and portable fan if possible.

Klir and our driver, Enrico, were amazing ! Klir was so engaging and really informative about all our destinations. She kept everyone so organized, and made the entire trip super enjoyable.
It’s a long day, but so worth it the trip.

Long bus rides and couple of places to view in short time, but a fun ride. Laura and Marco are great company as our own tour guide and driver
Fay_W, Aug 2026
I loved that the entire trip is organised from start to finish and someone else’s responsibility. All we had to do was get on the coach, sit back and enjoy the trip.
lainie_n, Aug 2026
Was exactly as advertised. Marius was an amazing guide and so helpful and informative with any questions. A great experience!

Thomas_E, Aug 2026
Pompeii is absolutely amazing to see. Sorrento was fun to see. You will wish you had more time at both, but they are squeezing both into one trip. Sorrento is very busy. The limoncello factory was great.
Christine_H, Aug 2026
Our tour guide Rob was amazing! He was incredibly informative as well as extremely entertaining. Pompeii was a great experience and Positano was beautiful. Highly recommend!

We were at the meeting point before 8 am and returned at 10pm. This tour is worthwhile for visiting Pompeii and Positano in a day. Both are amazing places to visit. Patricia is an excellent and enthusiastic guide, explained thoroughly what to expect, and kept the big group of about 60 together. Our bus driver was skilled at navigating narrow roads. The only thing that can improve is the overpriced 18 Euro lunch which was a personal pizza or pasta and a soda and a sfogliatella. We have had much better ones in Rome. The pizza lacked flavor, the pasta was overcooked/not al dente, and the sfogliatella had very little filling inside. But it was what was available and quick to get. No other alternatives for lunch. Everything else on this tour was perfect!

I thought the guide was excellent but was very disappointed in the limoncello stop. It took away from the stop at Positano. An hour and a half is not long enough when it takes nearly 50 minutes to get to and from the base of the bus stop. If you need it for bus changes, do the change and be done. Very disappointing.
Laurie_K, Aug 2026
Very long day- bring extra phone charger and snacks for the bus! The bus to positano is very windey and so my kids got very nauseous. Pauola and Luca were amazing!
Andrei_S, Aug 2026
Great experience visiting remote places in a day. Guide at Pompeii is fantastic, very interesting to listen and answered every questions! Highly recommend this tour!

Wow what a memorable trip with Enrica… an Italian Nonna with a heart of gold! Full of knowledge and humor and I loved her energy and attention to the admittedly tight timetable.
Everything was so smooth and seamless for the trip… no need to charter a bunch of private taxis. There is definitely a lot of drive time probably about 6 hours total, but it’s broken up enough that it doesn’t feel that way. I do wish we got to spend more time in Positano, only ended up being about 1.5 hours there, but there were adequate breaks included throughout and all things considered it was a great value. I suggest if you want to spend a full day in Positano to actually stay there overnight somehow. The tour guides at Pompeii were also awesome. All in all highly recommend.

What an amazing tour.!!!! It’s the most amazing beautiful place on earth to see.
And what makes it more amazing was our guide Roberto who was so attentive, patient and so concerned on all of us in the tour. So with The driver of our bus too Rommel. We had a very nice safe smooth ride to and from our tour. Just one all day and yet we got to see a once in a lifetime tour experience that we’ll never forget.

While this is a long day it is well worth the time. The Amalfi Coast is beautiful and the Pompeii was very interesting. The shopping in Posttonic was great. What made this really special was our guide Sarah. Knowledgeable, friendly and kept the group together and on time. Definitely recommend this excursion. Well worth the money

Enrica was really good very detailed kept an eye on us it was wonderful feeling like a mom watching over us give us great information and recommendations loved it!

Overall, we enjoyed the Pompeii, Amalfi Coast, and Positano day trip. Our tour guide, Kler, and driver, Luca, did a great job getting us to each location and making sure we stayed together and organized. Kler made a point of giving us information about Rome and things to do during our stay. She was upbeat and spoke clearly so that everyone could understand—great guide!
Even though it was excruciatingly hot in August, the Pompeii portion of the trip was awesome. Our tour guide, Bernadette, did a fantastic job taking us around the grounds of Pompeii and sharing information in a way that kept our interest while allowing us to see the most important sites within the allotted time. She gets an A+ from us!
We then stopped at DiCapri for a limoncello tasting. It was a quick, touristy stop that seemed focused on encouraging visitors to purchase items from the gift shop. After that, we continued on to Positano for our scheduled free time.
This is where I felt the tour fell short. We were dropped off in the lower section of the Positano shopping area and given only 1.5 hours of free time, which, in my opinion, was not enough. We were so rushed trying to see the views and take photos from both above and below the shops that we didn't have enough time to shop or even enjoy a drink by the sea. Not to mention, it was close to 100 degrees, making it very difficult to move quickly up and down those hills.
Time could have been made up by shortening what I felt was an unnecessarily long stop in Cassino at the beginning of the tour. At the very least, the group should have been told that there was no need to purchase a large amount of food at that stop, because once we were back on the bus, Kler was taking orders for pizza for our stop in Pompeii. My husband and I had no interest in ordering pizza after having just purchased food in Cassino.
I would also skip the limoncello tasting stop. Eliminating that stop could provide more time in Positano, and if anyone wanted to purchase limoncello, there were plenty of opportunities to do so in Positano.
All in all, it was a great trip, and we really enjoyed seeing these areas outside of Rome during our stay. However, be prepared to spend a lot of extra time getting on and off the bus and, unfortunately, to have less time to enjoy Positano.
A few tips: Wear good walking shoes, bring a hat for sun coverage, plenty of water, portable fans if you have them.
Valerie_R, Aug 2026
Van is great but 3 people had to sit backwards. Enough time to explore Positano and Pompeii. Really hot that day.
Jack_M, Aug 2026
This was genuinely one of the best days of our trip to Rome. The whole day was organised really well, from leaving Rome in the morning, visiting beautiful Positano and then going on to explore Pompeii.
Considering how much travelling is involved, the coach was really comfortable and the journey actually became an enjoyable part of the day. Our tour guide Natascia was honestly out of this world. She was so friendly, knowledgeable and made the whole experience feel relaxed from beginning to end. She has such a calm and relaxing voice too, it was genuinely nice just sitting back on the coach and listening to her talk about the places we were visiting and the areas we were travelling through.
Positano was absolutely beautiful and then getting to experience Pompeii afterwards made the day even more special. It felt like we managed to see and experience so much in one day without it feeling stressful.
The whole day was amazing and we couldn’t recommend City Wonders and Natascia enough. If you’re visiting Rome and want to experience the Amalfi Coast and Pompeii, definitely book this trip. A massive thank you to Natascia for making an already incredible day even better
Jeffrey_S, Aug 2026
Great experience to see Pompeii. Amazing place to visit and have a guide talk about the history. Amalfi Coast was very nice to see. A lot of tourist in the summer time.
Ijeoma_O, Aug 2026
Eduardo our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. He kept us entertained throughout the trip. We loved every bit of it.
