A spectacular tour, Natasha was a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable. Having the comforts of a coach to get us there and back with the awesome driver Caeser. The scenery was breathtaking, and tour of pompeii was (no words can describe it) it was that amazing. Highly recommended tour!

Amazing Experience!❤️

Lizzette_B, Mar 2026
The whole experience was wonderful. Our tour guide Laura was amazing and so knowledgeable she provided so much detailed information on Rome, the tour sights, culture etc. In Pompeii we were split into groups and we had an Amazing guide, Nikolai. Nikolai was wonderful at explaining the historical sight as well as cultural information both past and present. Nikolai engaged the group and ensured that the group was together and kept a comfortable walking pace. By far the best tour 3/26/2026 by Laura and Nikolai. Thank you!

Allison_S, Mar 2026
We enjoyed the semi-private version of this but our tour guide barely spoke English. I’ve been on other city wonder tours on the large tour buses and the tour guides always give good information. It was disappointing that we splurged on semi-private (which ended up being fully private bc no one else booked our date) to basically just be drove around like a private chauffeur. The Pompeii guide they organized was really good though. The views for amalfi coast were obviously great. Could have skipped the lemoncello “tasting”, was just a little tourist trap.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Hi Allison, Thank you for your feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the Pompeii guide and the stunning Amalfi Coast views. Our guides are English speakers, so it’s not what we expect to hear, and we sincerely apologize for any difficulties. Please contact us directly so we can investigate this and ensure we find the best resolution. We appreciate your comments and will continue working to make every tour as informative and enjoyable as possible.

Pompei and Positano

The tour was very well planned and executed. Our Tour Guide Natasha was very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, professional, and overall a great host. Our driver Daniel also did a great job. I highly recommend this tour!

Wonderful day

Heather was wonderful! The views and the day was amazing and enjoyable. Hats off to our driver Luka. Perfect!

Amazing trip

Great organization, beautiful destination, And great proud Italian guid toure. I had learned a lot and enjoyed the journey and the process.

A Great Day in Positano and Pompeii.

Rick_T, Mar 2026
We really enjoyed the itinerary, and Heather and Luca were fantastic. The tour of the Lemoncello factory wasn’t really a tour. Just a walk past the factory line on your way to the gift store. The gift store was nice with lots of fun stuff. My other complaint is the bus. There is no leg room so I ended up being uncomfortable for the 7 hours we spent in the motor coach. They could make their customers truly happy if they would remove two rows of seats. Of course, that would mean less revenue.

This was a great tour.

Jesse_S, Mar 2026
Our tour guide Valentina was informative and engaging with the group She stayed with us the entire time and we accomplished everything we paid for and then some. The bus rides long but good rest breaks…my only complaint would be use more AC.

This is a very long day....

Valerie_B, Mar 2026
This is a very long day. All the guides were knowledgeable. Burano is very nice and different. Highlife recommend the tour

Pompeii is not to be...

Ellen_S, Mar 2026
Pompeii is not to be missed. It is a city that was buried under 25 feet of volcanic ash. It is a place that gives the story of that time.

Fantastic day in Pompei and Positano

Ian_J, Mar 2026
This trip is a long day, however it is worth every penny and an early start. Our tour guide Flávio was absolutely amazing, his knowledge, approach and friendliness was great. Pompei was excellent and Positano was delightful. This experience was one that we would fully recommend to our family and friends as it is well organised and very enjoyable. Thank you Flávio for a great day 😃

Disappointing—not what we expected

Rachel_D, Mar 2026
We were very disappointed with how little time was spent at Pompeii—we were only there 1.5 hours (of a 14 hour day.) The time there felt very rushed, with a few spare minutes at the museum to see artifacts. Positano was beautiful, with plenty of adorable shops to stop in. Be aware if anyone in your party has mobility issues that the roadway to get to the bottom is steep and cannot accommodate the vans, so the walk can be a challenge. The day consists primarily of driving; we had 1.5 hours in Positano and 1.5 at the archeological site. Overall, the day felt disorganized and this was, unfortunately, not our favorite experience.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We completely understand how important Pompeii is for many guests, and we regret that the time spent there felt rushed. Due to the distance between Rome and Pompeii—approximately 3.5 hours each way—it is unfortunately not possible to allocate significantly more time at the archaeological site without extending the tour well beyond an already long day. That said, we understand how this can still feel limiting and appreciate your perspective on the pacing. Your feedback regarding timing and structure is very important, and we will be reviewing it closely with our team as we continue to improve the experience.

Pompeii and Amalfi coast trip from Rome

Dimitri_L, Mar 2026
Most of the trip is sitting a bus for hours. The tour is 12 hrs but the exposure places of interest is very limited. The Pompeii tour is very short and rushed. The whole bus was taken to a pizza restaurant that had nothing special: no view, regular pizza and rushed service. The bus trip along the coast was entertaining from inside the coach and only 2 stops were made. Time spent in Positano was 2 hours, no much to do there. Not bad but don’t have high expectations. You get what you pay for.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Hello Dimitri_L, Thank you for your honest feedback. We understand that a 12-hour day trip to Pompeii and Positano involves a significant amount of travel time. Covering over 500 km in one day, along with the narrow, winding roads of the Amalfi Coast, naturally limits the time available at each site to approximately 2 hours per stop. We aim to provide a 'snapshot' of these two world-class destinations for those with limited time in Italy. Regarding the meal, we offer the pizza stop as a convenient option to keep the group on schedule, though guests are always welcome to bring their own lunch or explore local snack bars if they prefer a different experience. We appreciate your comments as they help us set clear expectations for future travelers regarding the brisk pace of this particular itinerary.

Too much to cover in a day

fjyyntm8xv, Mar 2026
We knew what we signed up for and we got what we paid for. The time on the crowded bus was way too long. Our guide, Francesco, in Pompeii was exceptional and knowledgeable. The trip to Positano was not as impactful as we expected. Lots of walking and shopping, but would have preferred more sightseeing on the bus before shopping.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Dear Customer, Thank you for your review! We are thrilled to hear that you found Francesco’s expertise in Pompeii exceptional. We sincerely appreciate your feedback regarding the itinerary; covering both Pompeii and Positano in a single day is indeed a logistical challenge due to the distance and regional traffic. We try to balance historical exploration with free time, but we understand your point about wanting more guided sightseeing from the bus. We will take your comments into account to keep improving the experience.

Great!

DeniseP_A, Mar 2026
Long day but worth it!! Chiara our tour guide was great!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ She gave us a lot of information during the bus ride! Positano was beautiful!!

Great views.

Beth_N, Mar 2026
The places we went and saw were amazing. I gave it 3 stars for several reasons. 1. Pompeii was too rushed. We basically ran from one thing to the next. 2. Tour never mentioned a stop at a lemonchello factory for a tasting. What happens if someone signed up that is struggling to stay sober. I would much rather have spent the time in Pompeii. This stop should have been mentioned in the outing details. This is my opinion.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Dear Beth_N, Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the sites visited, but we’re sorry that the time in Pompeii felt rushed. We understand how important this visit is and will share your comments with our team. We also appreciate your note regarding the limoncello stop. We understand your concern and will review how this is communicated in our tour details to ensure greater transparency for all guests. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts.

Amazing

Wonderful experience, Antonione was very knowledgeable. Our driver Max was the best, keeping us safe on some schetchy roads. Thank you both and Nicola (Pompeii guide) for a perfect day.

Had Paula bus 84 today, she was very knowledgeable, kept the tour interesting and was very polite! Overall great tour

Exceptional day trip - a must add to any Italian vacay!

Chriselda_G, Mar 2026
Phenomenal experience! We traveled to Paris and Rome and I booked everything myself and worked out transportation. For this day trip, I decided to book this trip so that I wouldn’t have to coordinate travel to Pompeii and Almafi coast and tickets myself. It was the right choice! Everything was perfectly coordinated and allowed for a perfect day, with no stress! Truly a magical day! Alberto was so knowledgeable, friendly, and ensured the trip was flawless.

Yes! Go!

Ryan_L, Mar 2026
What a delightful experience! The tour guide was absolutely amazing and we stopped after an hour to go to the bathroom and get snacks. Although the tour is quite long, It is broken up expertly to give you plenty of time to rest and even take little naps.

Our day guide Flávio and...

Amy_L, Mar 2026
Our day guide Flávio and driver Daniel were both amazing. This trip was very long. There was very few times we could try to get decent food. In Positano lots of things were closed but it was a fun atmosphere. The Pompei portion of this trip went way too fast. our guide was so fast we were at the back of the line. We never saw what she was talking about. She didn’t wait. She moved on. We are constantly just running through the whole thing. This trip would be better broken up into two days where you could sit down and enjoy a meal have a nice day and not feel so rushed from one place to another.

Response from Host, Mar 2026

Hello Amy_L, Thank you for your feedback. We are thrilled to hear that Flávio and Daniel provided such great service, but we sincerely apologize that the pace of the tour did not meet your expectations. Combining Pompeii and Positano in a single day is a significant undertaking that requires a very tight schedule to cover both locations. We regret that this left you feeling rushed. We hope that despite the fast pace, you still took home some wonderful memories of the beautiful views in Positano.

This is a great day trip...

Casey_S, Mar 2026
This is a great day trip to see Pompeii AND Positano. Loved that we stopped at a Lemonchello factory! It is a long day on the bus (made longer by the fact there was an accident and road closures). Ciara and the driver did a fantastic job of keeping us in the loop and trying to keep us as close to schedule as possible with the unforseen circumstances.

It was great experience...

Manrico_R, Mar 2026
It was great experience with this travel company and always updated with our schedules good communication to us. No hassle. And the tour guide is great awsome person chiara! Give her 5 star! We miss her very nice person.

Long Day But Great Value

Caroline_G, Mar 2026
We opted for this tour as wanted to make the most of our time on a visit to Rome and take in Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. It is a little chaotic when you meet early morning (6:50 am) in Piazza del Popolo as there isn’t really any clear instructions as to what is happening whilst the sour out the tour groups. There is a short walk to the coach outside the square and once on board you are given more information. There is a comfort break stop (after approx 2 hours) at Cassino on the way to Pompeii. Once you arrive in Pompeii it is a short walk from the coach to the entrance where you meet a Guide who is very knowledgeable and interesting. Pompeii is an amazing experience and covers a huge area. A 2 hour tour covers approximately 1/5th of the site. You are offered a lunch option (which you pay for separately) at the Restaurant where the coach parks. Personally I would not take up the Pizza/Pasta lunch offered by the tour company but instead use the snack bar just by the entrance to Pompeii. Back in the coach they announce a stop at a Limoncello Factory which is very much geared up for selling local produce and crafts - make of this what you will ! Here you are transferred from the Coach to Mini Buses for the journey to Positano. The seats we encountered on the mini bus were broken and kept falling back so not the most comfortable ride on the narrow winding coast road but the views were beautiful along the coast. Positano is beautiful. Be prepared for walking the steep roads of the village. There are beautiful shops but all very expensive. You have free time to explore and afterwards are taken by the mini bus back to meet the coach for your trip back to Rome which is about 3 hours or so. Our guide was Valentina who was charming. Paolo was our main Coach driver and did an excellent job. We felt Valentins could have been a little more informative as to what was happening at times, particularly with regard to the organisation of the mini bus transfers as at one point we were a little worried we were in the wrong bus. All in all we felt the trip was good value for money and really enjoyed our day. Please note that this is about a 13/14 hour day trip so if you have children you may wish to consider whether this trip is for you.

A Fantastic tour thanks to Marius

Sergio_R, Mar 2026
If you’re lucky enough to get Marius as your tour guide, you’re in for a great day. His planning and communication are flawless, everything runs smoothly and on time, so you can actually relax and enjoy the experience instead of worrying about the details. What really makes the tour special, though, are the stories he shares during the travel time. Marius fills the ride with fascinating insights about the cities you’re passing or about to visit, Italian culture, local food, and even a crash course on the famous Italian hand gestures. As a Roman, he also loves sharing his favorite spots, hidden gems, and recommendations. He would advise you about prices and the best spot to take a bathroom break. And whatever you do… don’t leave without asking him to sing the beer song. Dont forget to record it! Trust me, it’s worth it.

It was a beautiful day....

Amy_Z, Mar 2026
It was a beautiful day. We felt the tour of Pompeii was a little long with being almost 2 hours, but there was a lot to cover and learned so much about the site. We brought our lunch, but heard from others the lunch option (for 18 euro) was not great. Positano was beautiful and the perfect amount of time there. If you are prone to car sickness, there are lots of turns so bring some medicine. It was really lovely day. Valentina was an amazing guide.

Excellent Day Trip to Pompeii and Positano

Maria_H, Mar 2026
Outstanding service from start to finish. Chiara the tour guide was exceptional! She was cheerful as early as 6:45 am, and was consistent throughout the trip to 8 pm when we arrived back at Piazza del Popolo. Chiara shared her knowledge from the Benedictine monastery to pistachios and lemon trees. An extraordinary tour, indeed. Thank you to Chiara and the safe driving of Caesare!

Christa_H, Mar 2026
Lovely tour. Pompeii is fascinating. Lilia was such an entertaining guide. Antonino was very kind and friendly also. Positano is such a picturesque place, I hope to return. Long day, but worth the experience.

A Worthwhile Tour! I Enjoyed It Very Much!

Patra_J, Mar 2026
This is an exciting and educational experience. Our guide Nicholas was so enthusiastic and he made it so interesting, I learned a lot. The Amalfi Coast at Positano was so beautiful and wonderful shopping. I had a wonderful time. Our driver Sergio did a fantastic job on the mountainous curves on the coast, we clapped for him a few times. And lastly, our tour guide for the trip was Laura M. I can not say enough about how knowledgeable she is, she knows so much history about the Italy and has a great sense of humor! During each stop, she made sure everyone was accounted for and was very efficient with our time. It was a wonderful tour.

Fantastic tour with Flavio!

Jeannie_M, Mar 2026
Had a wonderful time on this day trip to Pompei & Positano. Our tour guide was Flavio and he was delightful, very positive and had a lot of knowledge. Our driver was Julio and in Pompei, our guide’s name was Giancarla. The meet up instructions were clear, with a lot of people already there when we got there. You check in with the tour guide and get sorted into the time slot you selected. The only downside is there are a LOT of people per tour…probably upwards of 40-50 folks on our bus. There are plenty of bathroom breaks for the long bus ride (1.5 hours then 20 minute bathroom break), followed by first stop in Pompei. It was a radio tour guide at this point, and Giancarla was very informative. Pompei was very cool. We then had a quick lunch we pre-ordered with Flavio (soda/beer, pizza + dessert party for 18 euros) because it’s the off season so a lot of restaurants in Positano were closed. We stopped by a limoncello factory and then took smaller shuttles into Positano, where we spent about 1.5 hours. It was lovely but not much to do in the off season (most restaurants + shops closed). 1.5 hours was enough time. Beautiful view of the Amalfi coast. Took a long nap on the drive back. Overall would recommend! Had a lovely time but it’s a long day (around 12 hours).
