It was perfect. Errica was extremely knowledgeable and super friendly. We had a fantastic day 😀 😊.
The whole experience was 🏆 wonderful!
Thanks a million.

This was an amazing day and Giovanni was the best tour guide. He spoke English well and explained things well. First experience with city tours and I will use the again.

Very well run tour. Everything was timed perfectly. Especially travelling with a child, we appreciated the programmed stops, and the guide maintaining us well-informed of the schedule and how to best take advantage of our time at each location. We felt like the tour really incorporated as much as possible. The coach was new and clean, and the driver was professional and drove safely. All in all, a fabulous tour. A special thank you to Laura (guide) and Luca (driver) for their excellent service. Very recommended!

Pompeii was great but more time needed. The rest was a complete letdown. The explanation of what was expected did not come close to what was. The tour of Pompeii was a bit disappointing as the audio equipment provided were not user friendly for all. Some people prefer ear buds over ear clips. For me the ear clip was useless and kept falling off so I was unable to hear most of the guide’s information. This is not the first tour with this issue and I had the same issue with those others as well. Our main guide, Pari, was professional and knowledgeable. I would recommend taking the Pompeii tour and only the Pompeii tour (longer version) for anyone interested.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Hi Erin,
Thank you for sharing your feedback.
We're glad you found the guide to be professional and knowledgeable, and we're sorry to hear that the overall tour and the audio equipment did not meet your expectations.
We appreciate your comments, as they help us identify areas for improvement, and we'll share your feedback with our team. Thank you for taking the time to leave your review.

I’ll start by saying that Pompeii was absolutely amazing. It was the main reason we booked this tour, and it did not disappoint. That said, on a 14-hour day, we only spent about 90 minutes there.
My biggest criticism is that the trip is simply too long for the amount of time you actually get at each destination. A large portion of the day is spent sitting on the bus. Positano was absolutely gorgeous, but we didn’t have nearly enough time to really explore or enjoy it, and it was extremely crowded.
If I had it to do over again, I wouldn’t use one of our Rome vacation days for this tour. Instead, I’d save Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast for a future trip based in Naples, where you can spend much more time experiencing both without so many hours of travel.
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Hi Elizabeth,
Thank you for your feedback. We're delighted to hear that Pompeii lived up to your expectations.
We also appreciate your comments about the itinerary.
As this is a day trip from Rome covering Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast, it does involve a significant amount of travel to visit these iconic destinations in a single day.
We understand this pace isn't ideal for everyone, and we appreciate you sharing your experience to help future travelers choose the tour that best suits their preferences.

Great for zero hassle travel. Very organized and felt secure. Guided tour of Pompei was short but great info. Short stop in positano was perfect as we wouldn’t have been able to get to amalfi coast otherwise. Our driver Julio and guide Sarah were excellent!!
Joyce_E, Jul 2026
Our driver, Roman (sp?) was wonderful and very knowledgeable about Rome, the Amalfi Coast, and Positano. He kept us on schedule despite a mishap that was no fault of his own. I wish the free time in Positano could have been a little longer but were still able to see the sights.
Michael_A, Jul 2026
You spend a substantial amount of time on the bus ride there and back, that being said, the ruins in Pompeii are extraordinary, and the views and Positano are outstanding. It is also a lot of walking, so be sure to stay hydrated.
Samantha_L, Jun 2026
The visit to Pompeii was very rushed. The tour guide was knowledgeable but we did not have enough time to linger and see the artifacts. The visit to Positano was very pretty but extremely touristy and crowded. Overall good trip but wish we had more time.
Wallace_W, Jun 2026
Sarah was great. It is a log day, but there are many opportunities to stop and take bathroom/rest breaks. The coast is beautiful and very much worth the time. Positano is beautiful and the shops are great. The tour guide for Pompei was knowledgeable and took the time to answer questions and explain things. The views from the bus along the coast road are breathtaking, have your camera ready at all times.
Cristi_H, Jun 2026
Valerie was an excellent tour guide. She had so much knowledge and so much colorful content. She has a lot of charisma very fun to listen to her!
Noreen_O, Jun 2026
The tour guides and driver was great. The event came to a disappointing conclusion when a landslide prevented us from seeing the Almafi Coast. We spent more time on the bus than the tour due to this. I hope a refund is given.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Dear Noreen_O,
Thank you for your kind words about our guides and driver. We are truly disappointed that, due to the unexpected road closure caused by the landslides, it was not possible to reach Positano as planned. Unfortunately, this was entirely beyond our control, but we fully understand how disappointing it was for your day to be affected.
As a gesture of goodwill, a 50% partial refund will be processed shortly. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding under these exceptional circumstances.

It’s a long day, but wonderful! Pompeii is an amazing place, so perfectly preserved for us to learn about ancient times. Seeing Mt Vesuvius and its indolent power has been a life long dream of mine. I was there this week, in a heat wave and still, there were spots along the way to duck out of the sun. You can see you these people lived and died, and the construction skill is something we should all learn from - particularly those of us in the USA. The guide was lovely, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. Stopping on the Amalfi coast - even if we just had a few hours - was well worth the travel. Bus was comfy, process was smooth overall, City Wonders guide was super helpful and pleasant. Would highly recommend.
Ryan_R, Jun 2026
Great tour, our host Heather was incredible. Very upbeat and full of knowledge. She made the drives very entertaining and gave us great tips for our locations
Karen_G, Jun 2026
We had a wonderful experience. Ion, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and provided interesting and enlightening information at every phase of our tour. The tour was well worth the money.
Paul_A, Jun 2026
A fascinating tour. Pompeii is so interesting as an example of life in Ancient Rome especially the differences between the classes. The Amalfi Coast is beautiful. Even with the steep hills in Positano it was a pleasant walk through the town.

We arrived at the meeting point at 7:10 as requested for a 730 departure, but we didn’t leave until 745. We had paid for an upgrade to a semi private tour with a limoncello tasting. We all boarded a small Mercedes Van which was fairly comfortable, although the air-conditioning was mediocre. The entire trip was made in silence - no music and no talking by our guide Francisco. As we approached, Positano, Francisco suggested that we skip the Limoncello tasting to have more time in Positano. When we arrived in Positano, he told us that we would have one hour and 15 minutes there which was clearly not enough time. In fact, the itinerary stated we would have two hours there. He suggested that because we had so little time in Positano, he would make arrangements for us to have a table meal just outside of Pompeii. When we arrived in Pompeii, we realized he had made arrangements with a tourist restaurant for a fixed price menu for us so we had no say in what the meal was. The food was decent, but when we finished our meal the waiter suggested that we all pay in cash so we had to empty our wallets of all of our euro to pay for this meal. We then crossed the street to the Pompeii site and were met by our Pompeii guide, Vincenzo. Vincenzo was an excellent guide and we were able to see quite a bit of Pompeii despite a torrential downpour during the museum portion of our tour. We finished at Pompeii and met Francisco for the 2 1/2 hour trip back to Rome. We arrived back in Rome at 7:30 so despite the tour saying it had a 13 hour duration, we were actually less than 12 hours and our Positano portion was cut very short. We were also disappointed that Francisco did not say anything during the entire trip not even to point out locations or regions or things of interest except for Mount Vesuvius, and the Bay.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hi Shirley_C,
Thank you for your detailed feedback.
We're sorry to hear that parts of the tour did not meet your expectations.
On the Semi Private tour you have included a driver for the journey not an official licensed guide.
We appreciate you highlighting Vincenzo's excellent guidance in Pompeii, and we're pleased that portion of the experience was enjoyable despite the weather.
Your comments regarding the itinerary, timing, and lunch arrangements will be shared with our team for review.
Thank you again for your feedback—it helps us improve our tours and the overall guest experience.

It was a fabulous day! Our tour guide Enrica was full of life and knowledge, charm and humor. Her love of being a guide was obvious. She brought the 3 cities to life through her stories.
Andrew_T, Jun 2026
We completed a tour with Manuela as our tour guide today! She was absolutely wonderful and made sure the day went super smooth considering how busy the the itinerary was. She communicated clearly and had so many interesting details to share about the amalfi coast and Pompeii. Highly highly reccomend this tour, it’s a lot of driving, but it’s worth it if you are staying in Rome and want to adventure out.
Eric_P, Jun 2026
Maria Luisa was a great guide. She was enthusiastic and informative with fun facts and history about the locations. She was very attentive to the needs of the entire large group.
Gustavo_F, Jun 2026
The tour was very nice. The view is amazing.Francesco the driver was very nice!Positano is a exciting city and the ruins of Pompei have a lot of history!
Nancy_B, Jun 2026
Sabina was a great tour guide. Very informative. Wish we could have spent a bit more time in Positano (1 1/2 hours) however the length of the tour just didn't allow it. Scenery was amazing. Pompeii fascinating as well.
maleeyah420, Jun 2026
The tour was good. Paola was our tour guide and she was very funny and told us what to eat in every region! The limoncello spritz was a game changer. My new fave drink! Pompeii was super cool. To know that it was lost and then found is crazy. I just wish we had more time in positano!
Allen_S, Jun 2026
You’re out all day, from 8am to 9:30pm but you only get 1.5 hours in Pompeii and 1.5 hours in Positano where you have to walk down then up a big hill.
Why, unnecessary stops at service stations and a pointless Limoncello factory stop basically. The driver doesn’t need to stop on the way to Pompeii from Rome despite what your guide tells you. Yes they need breaks but Google it, they could get to Pompeii from Rome in the allotted time. They’ve clearly got a kickback from the garage though.
Then you get a pizza at a place in Pompeii because again they’ve probably got a kickback there. Although you needed food here and the pizza was great so this was one of the more understandable stops.
Then comes the Limoncello factory. Just a sales thing with a kickback. It’s Limoncello of various types and some over priced wine. You look at a boring factory with more flies than you’d like to see for a sterile area and then get very very small samples of their products. It’s very very forgettable and I wish this time was used to allow more exploring in Pompeii.
Then the trip to the Amalfi coast and Positano. Very windy roads, more time travelling for a picturesque but rushed stop. Walk down the hill, grab a bite to eat or dip your toes in the water then back up the hill you go or you’ll be left behind. Way too rushed. Can the service stations each way and the Limoncello stop and you’ll add 1.5 hours of fun onto this trip where you can enjoy Pompeii or Positano.
A sneak peek at everything but I won’t use City Wonders again as they’ve clearly got a kickback in place with too many people and too little respect for peoples time. Out of 13.5 hours you get 3 hours of enjoyment.
Get the train to Pompeii and enjoy at your leisure. That’s what I’ll be doing next time.
In closing, Heather was a decent guide, didn’t have much to do tbh though apart from tell us to get back so we can waste sometime at a place where they’re paid to take us to.
You’ve been warned.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Hi Allen,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While we're sorry to hear that the pace of the tour did not meet your expectations, we're pleased that you enjoyed the pizza and found Heather to be a good guide.
As this is a day trip covering a significant distance from Rome, scheduled comfort stops are necessary to allow guests time for refreshments and to ensure a comfortable journey. The visit to the local limoncello producer is included to offer travelers a taste of regional traditions and products that are unique to the area.
This tour is designed to provide an introduction to several of southern Italy's most iconic destinations in a single day, which naturally means that time at each stop is limited. We understand that some guests may prefer a more in-depth visit to a single destination, while others enjoy the opportunity to experience Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast, and Positano all in one itinerary.
We appreciate your comments and are glad you had the chance to experience these beautiful locations with us.
