Going to Pompeii and Positano is a long day trip from Rome (12 hours round-trip), but definitely doable. In addition to the driver, Lorenzo, the company arranged for a tour guide at Pompeii, Francesca for an extra cost. They were both very helpful and informative. I’m not sure we would package these sights in a day trip from Rome if we had to do it all over again, but that’s certainly no fault of this tour.

If you have limited time to see the Amalfi coast and Pompeii, this tour is a great option. Our driver Giuliano was a wonderful host and provided a great lunch recommendation in Sorrento, we travelled in winter, everywhere was so pretty for Christmas, we did not have any crowds or waiting times anywhere, so we had a good amount of time in both locations. I could imagine that Summer would be very busy, l probably would not do this tour on a weekend as both sites would have a lot of day trippers and you may feel like you have more time in the car than at the locations, l would book midweek in Summer. We had a wonderful day and a very comfortable drive in a day from Rome. I would recommend. Thank you Giuliano for a great day.

This was a very personalized experience where our driver Giuliano picked us up directly from our Vrbo apartment early in the morning and drove our family (4 adults, and 2 kids) to Sorrento and Pompeii. Giuliano was great, professional, on time, and super pleasant. He explained what the activities would be as well as the timeframe. The car was a spacious, air-conditioned, comfortable Mercedes van that fit all of us. We spent a little over 2 hours in each location. We wish we could have spent more time on each but we understand it is a long drive. I recommend this stress-free, private service experience to anyone.

We had a great time. Driver was professional and knowledgeable. Helped us choose the best place to visit along the Amalfi Coast (Sorrento given this was just a day trip). My only suggestion is that it is a very long day — 3 to 4 hours each way. If I were doing it again I’d try to get a night or two on the coast. That said, we only could do a day trip given our schedule and this was a good option. Tour company delivered exactly what we asked for!

We had 3 hours of free time in Sorrento to experience the place and culture in our own way. We also had more than 2 hours at Pompeii to experience that on our own also. Pompeii was much larger than I expected.

Our driver Livio picked us up on time at the front door of our rental and the van was clean and comfortable. He stopped a few times on the way to Sorrento to let us take pictures of the amazing coast views. 3 hours in Sorrento was enough to check out views, wander through shops, and have lunch at a rooftop restaurant recommended by Livio that had a garden and lemon tree grove. Way overpriced however our guide Salvatore was great. Loved Pompeii and Sorrento. Get the pizza.
Warning that Pompeii is huge so don’t think you’ll cover it all; you’d need a few days for that however our guide there did a great job helping us to visualize the era and the circumstances behind its demise. Note: we had to pay additionally for Pompeii. Very expensive tour.

Family with 3 kids (ages 10 to 14) loved this tour. Giuliano was an amazing driver. He was communicative, helpful, and made the long drive comfortable. We loved being able to see Pompeii, drive through the Amalfi coast and get a taste of Sorrento. Definitely recommend the tour.

Livio was a great guide! We had so much fun…even when the weather turned bad. He gave us great suggestions and did not lead us astray. This was my favourite experience we had while in rome. Giuliano was on time for our hotel pick up, was very knowledgeable and friendly and got us safely from rome to Pompeii, sorrento and back to rome. I definitely recommend booking this if you’re interested in seeing Pompeii and the Amalfi coast!

Claudio was an awesome driver. We had a great time in Pompeii and Sorento. He pointed out important places to see a king the way, stopped for us to take pictures and even recommended a fantastic place for lunch in Sorento. Book this trip and and ask for Claudio! You won’t regret it!!

The fascinating exploration of the Pompei ruins and the beautiful town of Sorrento and it’s food. Our driver Claudio was a well spring of knowledge and stories, he kept us well entertained on the drive. While it was a long drive it was well worth the time and price.

If you have the extra money to spend, a private tour is definitely the WAY to go! And this was a great day trip to see as much of Italy as we possibly could in a short amount of time! We did a private tour because we wanted more flexibility in our day than what you get being with a larger group. This paid off because we got an amazing driver, Salvatore, who was the type of person everyone should want on their private tour. He arrived 5 minutes early with a smile, energy and knowledge of his country that helped enrich our drive. We thoroughly enjoyed Positano, the Amalfi coast and Pompeii but I have every confidence that it wouldn’t have been as enjoyable with any other driver!

A wonderful experience with Giuliano! Our day started off with an ON TIME driver with an immaculately clean MB SUV. Giuliano gave us suggestions on our day which were great. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. I thought our day would be long and tiresome but it was the complete opposite thanks to our amazing tour guide. A super fun day trip to Pompeii and the beautiful Amalfi coast.

We had a wonderful private driver Michael. He took us to a lovely restaurant overlooking the coast. It was a very nice trip and Michael was very accommodating. Stopping along the way for us to take pictures. Would recommend this trip!
