Spend a full day kayaking, surfing, and snorkeling off Maui’s coast, beginning with a kayak trip across Makena Bay in search of fish and sea turtles, all while paddling above coral reefs in a protected volcanic cove—and getting in the water for a snorkeling session, too. Then it's off to the surf shop and to learn how to ride Hawaii's epic waves, your instructor lighting the way.

Check in 15 min. (7am ) b4 start time ( Start 7:15am ). Road side parking. Look for kayak & trailers along roadside beach, apprx 40 yards South of address, ask any guide for Kelii's Kayak Tours as our trucks are unmarked. Then 11:30am check in 1993 S Kihei road with Surf Shack Island surf building.

What To Expect
Begin the day with a surf instructor who will teach to ride the waves, from the best method of paddling in to how to stand on the board. You’ll also learn proper surf etiquette and ways to read the waves, with lessons designed for first time surfer who’s just learning the fundamentals.
The surfing lesson is two hours long, and the maximum group size of six people helps ensure you get personal attention. Learning to surf and stand on the board is virtually guaranteed, and the next lesson is on the house if you aren’t riding waves by the end!
After exiting the surfing area, make the drive to Makena Bay to continue the aquatic adventure, where you’ll paddle above colorful color reefs that teem with turtles and fish. In winter, it’s common to watch Humpbacks splash offshore from the private perch of your kayak, and it’s even possible to encounter dolphins during any time of the year.

Aloha! We had a great time watching a large pod of spinning dolphins and a couple of monk seals! Snorkling with the turtles was such fun as was the paddling and inflatable slide. The crew was awesome! Mahalo for the memories!

My daughter and I had gotten the flu and were not able to attend this event. However, my husband went and he said he enjoyed the surfing. This is through two different companies and is scheduled for two different days and two different parts of the island. So, if you are going to book this make sure you have the days available and know when/where/who you are meeting.

Snorkel and kayaking were great. Kyle is a great guide: very accommodating and lots of local knowledge. We saw lots of turtles! Surfing was fun. The instructors were so helpful, very experienced, and were determined to help us get up on the board. So much fun, but plan on being exhausted afterwards!

Snorkeling with turtles was amazing . Learning to surf , I was a little skeptical . I totally enjoyed it and was shocked that I could actually get up on board and surf.

The kayaking and snorkeling portion was canceled due to big waves. But the surfing part was great on the other hand so stoked. The kayaking portion was refunded and we paid just for the surfing lesson and they were good about the refund.

We found this combination of three activities and loved every single one of them. To get to do all three alone was worth it, but the price was unmatched by any other tour group or company, and most others were much more expensive for only one or two of the activities.
We were even able to split the surfing off to a separate day because we were so worn out from the amazing kayaking and snorkeling on the first day.
Curtis, our kayak/snorkel guide, was amazing. He took the time to point out much of the rich history and beauty of the island while kayaking, showing us many points of interest and lots of wildlife that we would never have noticed otherwise.He got us out on the water early so that we had the snorkeling spot to ourselves for a significant amount of time which was absolutely amazing. It was essentially a private tour which allowed us to really encounter a lot more reef wildlife than was visible once the other tour groups started to arrive. It was simply an awesome experience, and we learned a lot too. Could not recommend the tour company or Curtis enough.
For the surf lessons, we were equally pleased to say the least. Ashley was extremely helpful and patient with us, giving us great tips and pointers along the way, along with the very helpful pushes to get started. We had great waves, and even when there was a lull she was fun to chat with both regarding surfing tips as well as general conversation about the island and life. We had an absolute blast and could have spent the rest of the trip surfing every day after the lessons.
Kylee got some amazing pictures of us surfing as well, which made for one of the best souvenirs of our trip, along with similarly being fun and helpful the whole time.
I would book the same tour again in a second if we were to go back, in spite of having done it already.

This tour simply has it all! I am so glad we picked this tour. We got to swim with some turtles, got to see starfish and reefs. Our guide Greg was super cool, we started off with nice and clear saftey instructions as well as a lesson on how to paddle and use the sea kayak. We were provided snorkel gear, dry bags,snacks as well as life jackets for our adventure. Greg made sure everyone stayed together safe and helped those who needed it. If someone was feeling a little sick he was quick to provide ginger ale (which helped a lot!). After the snorkel and paddle adventure we headed off to the third part of the tour (be aware you have to drive yourself to the destination, the tour gives you information on where to go). Our surf instructor Alex was an awesome instructor, he started off by providing rash guards and foot wear. They match you to a surf board depending on your height, after that we had a lesson on land on how to stand up and where to position yourself as well as how to fall or "bail". Once we were in the water everyone had a great time. My family members were all able to stand on the board and were given individual tips and tricks on how to improve their form. They also give options for photographs which was cool.We were provided lunch and they even have vegetarian options! We all really loved this tour ! Mahalo!

The actual surfing and kayak/snorkeling experiences were outstanding. I did not realize that we had to drive from the surfing to the kayak/snorkeling takeoff points on our own. I was alone and was handed a paper with directions after surfing on how to get to the kayak takeoff. There was a vague map and tiny print directions, which I could not read while driving, so got very lost. I wish we could have gone as a group to the second site. I eventually found it and they were waiting for me, so it turned out OK.

Loved this tour! The snorkeling was amazing, saw more with this tour than other places we went to on our own. Surfing was great too, way easier than I expected.

It was great. I went with my daughter. Our surf instructor was really good. I never surfed before, can't ride a skateboard or snowboard but he had me up on the waves by my third try. I'm hooked for life now. Kayaking and snorkeling was a lot of fun as well. We saw turtles and some pretty fish. Afterwards we were exhausted but it was a great time.

This is a very fun day. The surf instructor was very nice and a good teacher. The 5 of us in the class were all catching waves by the end. Then we went to the snorkel/kayak site. A beautiful bay and ate our very large packed lunch. The snorkeling was great, beautiful reef with sea turtles.

Unfortunately, new students are required to run before they learn how to walk.
The instructors are good surfers, but have no knowledge about teaching.
I have the surfing basics, and will now practice on my own, without someone yelling at me to stand up, when I'm happy to be kneeling and not falling off.

Kayaking instructor was not only able to instruct those in the group who had never been, but a great tour guide. His passion for the water and island was exspresed in his line of work. Never a dual moment

My husband and I were the only ones surfing, it was like we had a private lesson. We literally swam with the turtles and we saw a shark (a harmless shark) the only thing that would keep me from booking this tour again is that it was REALLY exhausting to surf, kayak and snorkel all in one day.

My wife and I really enjoyed this comprehensive experience. Learning to surf was a great experience. Our instructor Kyle did a great job teacing us the basics and was very attentive. We also enjoyed the kayaking portion with Aaron. We had a great time snorkeling and just floating with a group of sea turtles

We had a great time learning to surf! Our instructor was amazing! Our kayak instructor was also great and we had a good time however I wish we could have seen more while snorkeling! The turtle was fabulous just wish there would have been more! Overall I trip was fantastic and we couldn't have asked for a better day!

This was one of the best days of our trip! Both the surf instructor and the kayak/snorkel staff were amazing! Friendly, helpful, and funny! The lunch that is included is huge...we were shocked for all that was involved with the price of this package. Well worth it! Can't say ebough!

it was awesome. I booked this for my son and daughter who are 18 and 14. They had a blast with the surfer instructor who was very attentive and an excellent teacher. My son and daughter enjoyed their lesons very much and by the end, they were able to stand up on their boards and catch some really good waves. I was impressed and extremely pleased with the instructor. They also liked their kayak and snorkeling guide, SCOTT. He was very pleasant and knowledgable about the reef and its surrounding areas. He took some great underwater shots of my children, the fish as well as turtles while they were snorkeling. They absolutely love their Maui snorkeling experience. We would do this again in a heart beat and next time, my wife and I are going on this excursion.

Our instructors/guides were fabulous! The surfing lessons were first thing in the morning lessons were great. The snorkel and kayak trip was by far the best! The guide/instructor was awesome; took us to great snorkeling place and was very attentive to 11 yr old grandson that was very scared. We will definitely do this again.
