Hosmer Grove hike & Haleakala sunset

This was the only tour I saw that allowed for an easy hike on the Hosmer Grove trail. The hike was filled with great views. We then were given a snack and finished our drive to the summit. We had time to explore. Just be sure to dress appropriately. Yvonne (I hope I spelled that right) was a great guide who helped us get the most out of our trip.

Lots of great photos from this trip. Yvonne was a great guide. She provided us with a great place to watch the sunset away from the masses. It was a little cool at the top of the mountain but not too bad. Yvonne even dropped us off near some food at the end of the tour so we could get dinner.

Great experience with short hike, Banana and coconut bread and fresh pineapple along the way. The top of the volcano is breathtaking, literally. Beautiful views and plant life.

What to say about this experience when I don’t feel words are sufficient! Let me start by saying how incredible Joe was as our tour guide. My husband was recently diagnosed with Parkinson’s and Joe was very accommodating and kind while still making the tour a lot of fun. Joe has an incredible wealth of knowledge about the volcano and Maui overall. By the end of the tour, we felt like we had made a new friend. The views at the top of the summit were awe-inspiring. We enjoyed the stops along the way and all the information that Joe provided as well. An added bonus was the banana bread and the Maui Gold pineapple provided to us as we made our way up the volcano. Jasmine was very helpful in coordinating the trip in assuring we were able to find the pick up spot as well as other support. This is a trip not to be missed with a tour company and tour guide that provides exceptional service.

What was great about our private tour is that our unique interests were acknowledged and met. Our guide, Joe, asked about our expectations and "wish list" and made them happen. We noticed that we had plenty of time to linger at spectacular sites and other points of interest. Joe provided excellent commentary related to geography, geology, the observatory, the history of the trees on the Hosmer Grove trail and camping opportunities in the park. We appreciated his time in spotting and identifying indigenous birds of Maui for us. Joe was passionate about preserving the heritage of Maui and made suggestions of other "must see" experiences on the island. He was professional, engaged us in discussions and was very personable. We also had communication with Jasmine of Holo Holo Maui Tours (the tour company). She responded back to us very quickly with answers to questions we had before the experience. The guided experience was everything we had hoped for and we were not rushed or had an agenda pushed on us. When we realized that we had gone over time, Joe shared that this is a positive aspect of a private tour. We had an amazing time and would like to share that Maui is open for business. Every encounter was excellent so, come and immerse yourself in the culture of Maui (and we highly recommend Holo Holo Maui Tours for those wishing a private tour experience).

A day in Haleakala

We went to Haleakala Crater through Holo Holo tours with Kea as our guide. It was a private tour and included only my husband and myself. My husband walks with a cane. Kea was very helpful, informative and very mindful of our slower pace. He explained everything along the way and was just a great guy to be around. 10 out of 10 for sure.

What a beautiful way to end the day! The Haleakala stroll & summit was absolutely amazing! The volcano was brought to life, by our exceptional guides Jasmine & Kai's knowledge & stories. I didn't know the summit sunset was on my bucket list when we signed up for this tour but it is a memory, I will treasure for a lifetime!

Luke our guide was outstanding…in fact so outstanding…there was confusion on my part about pickup location…and we were late….and frankly I was somewhat rude to Luke on the phone…He took it in stride and was a thorough professional…of which later I apologized for found that I was indeed wrong….His tour was professional informative and frankly worth every penny…..but it was because we were fortunate to have him. And to boot the snacks he brought were excellent.
