What an incredible experience! I did the private Deluxe Halfway to Hana tour departing from Kahului with guide Gus, and it was simply the highlight of our Maui trip. In a comfortable car, we stopped at the most beautiful spots along the Road to Hana—hidden waterfalls, black sand beaches, and breathtaking views—without the rush of group tours.
What made all the difference was Gus's contagious friendliness, his genuine love for Hawaii, and his deep knowledge of local stories. He didn't just take us to the places; he shared ancient Hawaiian legends, myths about the islands' formation, and fun facts that turned the outing into a lively and engaging lesson. Every stop turned into an animated conversation, like we were hanging out with a local friend.
And the most pleasant surprise? Discovering that Gus is Brazilian! In the middle of Hawaiian paradise, finding a fellow countryman as a guide was an unexpected gift—he explained everything in fluent Portuguese, making it so much easier and helping us feel even more at ease. Who would have thought we'd find a Brazilian leading tours in Maui?
Oh, and I can't fail to mention: Maui's banana bread is the best I've ever tasted in my life! Gus took us to a secret spot where they serve this warm, irresistible treat—a delight worth every bite.

#1 Maui Adventure with Gus: A Five-Star Experience!
Gus is an absolute gem! He made our Maui tour truly unforgettable. His passion for the island’s history shone through in every story he shared. He not only gave us the facts, but painted vivid pictures of the past, making the landscape come alive.
We were thrilled to see the breathtaking waterfalls and stunning coastline, but the true highlights were the unexpected encounters. Spotting sea taking a break from the water to sunbath was magical, and catching a glimpse of the elusive mongoose was a bonus we hadn't anticipated.
Gus's friendly and engaging personality made the experience even more enjoyable. He was patient, answered all our questions, and made sure we felt comfortable throughout the tour. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and entertaining guide to explore the beauty of Maui.

The guide "Joe" was really an excellent tour guide. On this private tour we were allowed more flexibility on what we really wanted to see and do. We learnt a lot on the culture and got a quick guide on the alphabet and prononciation of the hawaiian living. Really had a good time with Joe, we highly recommend this tour. Joe is a real asset to this company.

Joe was a wonderful guide. He knew all the perfects spots for pictures, turtle watching and where old Hawaii meets new. So many waterfalls!!! He did a great job in providing us with the history of the area. It was fascinating and beautiful beyond words!

The half-way tour was more than enough to see all of the sights and swim at the waterfall. Kea, our drive was very knowledgeable and told great strories that entertained us all, including the kids, and made the trip fun. We learned a lot about Hawaiian Culture and the history of the history of the islands. The stops for banana bread and lunch at Uncle Harry's were a hoot and the food was great. We let them pick us up at our condo in Ka'anapali, it will made everything a lot easier - I highly recommend doin this. I highly recommend Holo Holo Maui Tours, we had a blast!

Kae was a great guide very informative. Got to see everything we wanted to see on our tour. Beautiful lookout points. Seeing the sea turtles was great. Banana bread was delicious and perfect snack. Be aware the road is very narrow and windy not the best for people that get car sick. Would recommend bring something for motion sickness. Definitely bring hand sanitizer or wipes because the bathrooms are very rustic and many do not have soap. Overall glad we did the tour.

So glad we had a guide. I normally drive so it allowed me to take in every single bit of it, absolutely amazing. Our driver and guide, Dane, was fantastic! Not only getting us up and down safely but also taking his time. He told us about the area, the state, the history. He took us to two great snack places uncles and aunts. LOL. The banana bread, and I am not a fan of banana bread, was phenomenal. Kalua pork tacos with the barbecue sauce on them were amazing. We saw loggerhead turtles, we saw a monk seal, we saw amazing nature, and Dane and the kids jumped from a waterfall I to the pool. We had a fantastic time. There were eight in our party. Definitely recommend.

The tour operator went out of his way to accommodate our needs. He was great . That being said; Do NOT try to enter without a hard copy of your negative CoVid test. We were denied entry & had to return to Oahu because we couldn’t produce our PDF result in a half hour! They also quarantined us.

Rodney, a/k/a Handsome Bugga picked us up from our hotel and from minute one was full of energy and excitement. The knowledge and personal experience he shared with us was second to none. Whether you go all the way to Hana or just halfway as we did, myself, wife and son who is in graduate school in Monoa had the time of our lives. From the history to the unbelievable Banana Bread and Pork Sandwich we enjoyed at lunch to the warmth and Aloha spirit he showed, could not recommend it any more. Mahalo!!

Tommy was awesome and so accommodating. He is a walking history/agricultural book! We had 2 young kids with us (2 and 4 year old) and he was great with them. Do the private tour and you go at your own pace and stop where you want! Would recommend to all my friends and family.
