Great history included with the guided tour. We passed a few stops on the way up and were able to still catch them on the way back and the app knew where we were at all times.

We loved this audio tour. It was easy to follow. Great information on points of interest, details on parking and what we will see at each point of interest , costs, etc.. so happy it doesn’t expire because we can use it when we go back to catch the places we didn’t have time to see this go around.

The must see stops are worth it. Also, do not make your reservations at Black Sand Beach for too early a time since you will more than likely stop a few times along the way.
The trail at the end of the road at the national Park is worth the park price.
I enjoyed the history of Hawaii on the way back. I took the return loop not the back side.

Save your money and don't buy this audio tour. The "audio" portion never worked except at the very start which announced: "go to the starting point to start the tour." The blue dot followed us along as we drove the entire Road to Hana -- but never heard any audio on our driving tour. (And yes, the volume was up full.) The road has lots of curves and horseshoe turns, and halfway to Hana, the road changes from a State Hwy to a paved but rougher road. So, drive the road yourself, look at the views, stop along the way, take pictures of the hills and ocean, and hold onto your hat on this windy side of Maui. Drive it yourself and save $20 dollars cause there's no audio on this tour. The views are spectacular even without audio.

Hi Sheri, we’re sorry to hear that you had trouble with the audio during the tour. If you saw the blue dot then it sounds like the tour was operating correctly, but the issue may have been with your audio setup. The audio plays automatically from your phone’s speaker, but you’ll need to complete any connection to the car stereo. The best audio method is by Bluetooth, and then keeping your phone charged through the DC/cigarette lighter outlet (there’s full tips in the app’s help menu on this!). If you were connected by USB and Bluetooth (for example), it can cause a conflict with the audio source you have selected on the vehicle - which unfortunately our app can’t control. Our support team is available daily from 9AM to 6PM ET if you need any help. And we’d love to offer you a different tour if you’ve already left Maui, and learn more about how you were listening to the tour to make sure you have a better experience next time.

START your tour in the morning as suggested if you want to see it all. We had other commitments so were unable to start until 1 PM. However, we still saw plenty but some stops were skipped. Overall, this was a great excursion and we learn a lot that we didn’t previously know.

Our experience was pretty great from beginning to end. We were greeted at parking and informed of things to know about our experience ahead. The staff were attentive and informative my husband and I enjoyed our experience, no crowd, and being freely able to move around the boat was a plus. Besides from my motion sickness i enjoyed this experience.

This app is a MUST DO for anyone taking the drive to Hana. This was my 4th time taking the drive to Hana and I wish I had this app available the other 3 times. The app showed me a ton of hidden gems along the route I never knew were there
Definitely recommend this app. Don’t do the drive to Hana without it

So cool! Saw 6-7 whales including a calf. One even swam under our boat. Also saw dolphins and a sea turtle!

It's very informative including about off the road kind of places that you might want to stop at but had not heard or read about. I particularly loved hearing some of the history of Hawaii, very interesting and told in an easy to understand way.

If you are planning on driving the Road to Hana yourself, then this audio tour is a must!!! I was skeptical about getting something like this. But it was absolutely worth it! Creative commentary and cultural history as you drive along. But also pinpoint accuracy to every stop and points of interest along the way!!! We would have missed so much! Especially since you don't have cell service alot of the time. Even the GPS didn't show the road through parts of the trip! Seriously, this is a must have!!

10/10 must use app & guide! This was the most detailed & fun commentary that was 100% accurate to our location at all times, even with no service it never skipped a beat. It ensured we saw what we NEEDED to see, gave a bunch of additional options with short detours (and adjusted the directions and commentary appropriately) and on the way back gave us an oral history so nothing was repeated or duplicated. Best $20 we spent in Maui and will definitely be looking into other self guided tours through this company!

Read the tips and timing when you buy. Black sand beach requires advanced reservations! This tour was excellent, the perfect combo of directions, things to see, highlights and what to expect to help you plan your stops on a self guided day on the Road to Hana. The narrator does a wonderful job and we thoroughly enjoyed all the historical and cultural education along the way. Would highly recommend. It was so easy to run from the app which tracked us successfully in spite of having NO cell service most of the day. Download and be awed by the miracle of the recorded guided tour.

When I was finally able to get into the tour, I gotta say I did really enjoy it. The tour guy was very knowledgeable and always knew where I was. Overall, I really liked my tour. I had a hard time getting in, though it was something that I am not used to. I’m not super tech savvy and I am 51 so I thought it was gonna be a quick pay and click, but unfortunately it wasn’t that easy. But other than that, it was a great tour.
