Pompeii & Vesuvius! Beautiful and Powerful!

Pompeii and Vesuvius all in one. What a great day! It is 12 hours but jam packed with information, vistas, and awe inspiring memories you have to see to believe. The views from the crater at top of Vesuvius of the Bay of Naples, Capri, and the Amalfi coast are memorable. The lunch (Authentic Naples Margherita Pizza) was served from a halfway point on Vesuvius with a wall to wall glass view of the bay of Naples. Wow! And a great shout out to Kler and Paulo! Our guide and driver. They were so attentive, informative, joyful, professional. You cannot ask for more.

Fortunately, we decided to indulge in the 12 Highlights of Rome tour through Viator/ . It was an amazing private guided tour with native Roman and accomplished historian Claudio! He assured us he was ours for the day and that he would take us to what we wanted to see. He recommended a lovely locals restaurant for our lunch and surprised us with many lesser know wonders as well. We are at a lose for words to fully express how Claudio made our tour and time in Rome extraordinary!

Our guide, Alex, was wonderful. He picked us up very close to our hotel. It was nearly impossible to get to our hotel via any vehicle. He gave us two options, the major highlights of Rome or the hidden gems with spectacular views. We chose the hidden gems that’s spectacular views. It was a wonderful way to see Rome and Alex did a great job. Highly recommend!

What a great way to get introduced to Rome - and really Italy as a whole. The tour was well paced, with a nice balance of relaxed conversation and interesting history and culture. Our driver, John, was knowledgeable without overdoing it, and he made the experience feel personal rather than scripted. He also navigated the city smoothly and safely, which definitely added to the overall comfort of the tour. I’ll be raising a glass of wine tonight in his honor. Enrica is the best guide ever!

This is a great way to see all the big attractions. It’s a lot of walking, but well worth it if you’re short on time or even if you have time to spare. Our guide Enrica was absolutely amazing! I can’t say enough good things about her. Hopefully your’re lucky enough to have her guide you!

The tour was AMAZING!! Honestly, we liked the tour of the forum as much or more than the colosseum. It was a little pricey, but worth it to get a tour of both places (including the underground portion of the colosseum) in a small group. I've been to the colosseum before, and definitely got more out of the experience seeing underground. Our tour guide, Rosy, was the best! We highly recommend her! I also recommend doing this in Spring or Fall - there is not a lot of shade (except for the underground part), it would be rough in the summer heat.

10/5 - book immediately and hope for Cristina!

I'd give 10/5 stars if I could! We originally booked the underground, and Tours of Rome gave us a heads up well in advance that we could either cancel or do their Full Experience tour (at a discounted price, equivalent), and were very communicative with any questions we had. Cristina was an amazing tour guide, super friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and even took us on a couple of side quests since we were making good time. The amount that we learned looking back and reflecting was amazing, and her being part of the archaeological community really gives her a cut above a standard tour guide. Couldn't recommend this tour company in general, and if you get to go on a tour with Cristina, you're in for a massive treat!!

I had a wonderful time with this tour. Our tour guide Alessandra helped us make it inside the Vatican as swift as possible considering how hectic the entrance can be. In this tour you’ll be able to take a shortcut to get you to the Sistine chapel and another for Saint Peter’s Basilica. It’s a nice detail considering how many people visit the Vatican everyday. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and patient with everyone. Highly recommend.

Great tour and hope Olga is your guide

Very informative and the guides are incredible. It was a treat to have Olga as our guide for the Vatican portion of the tour. This tour is full of incredible facts and gives you plenty of time in between to grab lunch and make it to the next tour. I went in June, so be aware of the heat because it is a lot of walking and can be very hot.
