This was an excellent tour given by Pierre Giorgio. His knowledge was extensive and entertaining. We were easily able to understand and ask questions. A lot of walking, but a great sample of so many famous places. I would highly recommend this tour.

Good Value… We experienced ‘local flavor’ Sam our guide provided excellent commentary and insight into the many places we saw. At the end of the tour Sam walked us to find a taxi back to our hotel. Very kind gesture on his part

Itinerary

Meet your guide at the designated meeting point and see lively Piazza Navona, with its street performers, crowds, and Bernini fountains that together sum up the spirit of Rome.

Walk over to the Pantheon for photos and learn how the ancient monument evolved from humble beginnings as a pagan temple to a grand resting place for Italian kings. Tickets are included for guests on the group tour.

Stroll to Piazza Colonna and the Column of Marcus Aurelius, past the iconic Trevi Fountain, where you can throw in a coin to ensure your return to Rome (with ticket purchase) and hear some of the history behind the flamboyant fountain.

We didn’t make this tour as we con’t find the meeting point we looked around and around for 2 hours, unable to locate a flag, shirt, or the point of contact.

Our tour guide was wonderful! She answered all of our questions & gave us so much interesting information throughout the tour. We also got gelato as part of the tour which was really nice also. You get to see so many sites and learn about them and she knows the best ways to get around so it doesnt take you all day either. If your going to rome, especially for the 1st time this tour is a must in my opinion.

Don’t use City Wonders. They are frauds

We booked a walking tour and a few days before our tour, I started getting questions about where our driver should pick us up. I ignored this thinking it was an error. Finally the day and time of the tour come along. We go to the meeting point and see no one. We were early so we went to a restaurant nearby to wait for further instructions. I got a call from WhatsApp. It was the driver. We met up with him, but he didn’t speak English and had no idea about what our tour entailed. Very nice, he tried his best but ended up taking us back to the Vatican where we just were. We got out and walked around deciding we had to tell him where we wanted to go. We had him take us to the Pantheon. He asked if we had tickets. I said no we thought you would have them, as we paid for them in the package. We walked around took a few pictures and then moved on. We had him take us to the Trevi Fountain. Again we got out on our own looked around and got back into the car. Never went to Piazza Navona or got our gelato that we were supposed to do on this trip. We ended up at the Spanish Steps. We again walked around with no guide. Finally went back to the car and told him to leave. Our hotel was close by and we could walk. I contacted Viator and basically told that I signed up for a tour that I did not. I sent proof of what I signed up for and received fraudulent sign ups that I had never seen before. I received a $118 refund for an almost $600 tour. Totally unacceptable. Why would I ever recommend this tour or this company City Wonders?????

Excellent for the highlights on Day One!

Me and my mum did this tour on Sunday, the day after we arrived. Fabio guided us expertly through the city, showing us all the prime spots and sharing incredibly in-depth knowledge about the history, architecture, and provenance of everything. The Rome Half-Marathon was on that same day and sometimes we had to wait a while to cross the running track, but that time was well used for more interesting tidbits about less prominent things to be seen in Rome, such as the personal vendetta of artist Bernini and his rival Borromini. Having ear-pieces with a radio was very practical. Rome is a busy city at the best of times, not to mention Sundays. The radios enabled us to spread out a little, to approach things or look from a different angle for photos, etc, while still listening to Fabio. The stop in Trevi Bar for a Gelato or coffee - and a bathroom break - was also a very good idea. In general, I can recommend this tour for length and locations, as well as Fabio as a guide in particular due to his knowledgeable and humorous commentary.

Nice tour, the guide was easy going and fun. Do the tour in the morning, it gets busy and that can make it hard to stay with the group. You don’t get time to wait in line at Trevi fountain, just be aware. If you don’t want the guided tour with history, you can easily walk to all these places on your own.

Small group experience. Guide spoke English well and was understandable. Sound equipment was very good. Francesca (sp?) was our tour guide.
