Artistically overwhelming experience; like trying to drink from a waterfall. Every square inch of the building and its contents is a historical marvel. One could stay here for days, perhaps weeks, and not sufficiently appreciate the works of the famous Italian masters displayed within Galleria Borghese.

We met a tour guide and skipped the line and were walked right into the building and left us there to roam as we wish. Audio devices are available for rent however, if the Sistine chapel is all you want it do then walking through the museum is a must, since each room lends to the next and the Sistine Chapel is at the end. FYI This ticket doesn’t include the St. Peter’s Basilica ( which is free) but skip the line pass is needed to enter the church. Without the pass the line is an a 2 hr wait. This must be purchased on site at a tent outside the the basilica. Best excursion of the trip!.

Andrea is a very knowledgeable guide who speaks excellent English, and has a knack for explaining complex things so the average Joe can understand them. She was pleasant and polite, never rushing us, and I learned a great deal about history! This was a first-rate experience and an intro to the wonders of the ancient civilization of Rome.
