This tour was a quickie but definitely worth it, the Pantheon is a historic marvel and being able to skip the bigger lines was nice. Our guides met us at the meeting spot, helped us with our tickets, and gave us sound advice. Very happy to have done this one

Don’t book it through Viator. It’s not a guided tour. Smart Roma tour provided an acceptable meeting place and provided a recording to WhatsApp that wasn’t worth the money spent. Better off purchasing a $7 ticket an spend 20-30 minutes on your own.

A tour with no tour.

I was disappointed to learn that it was not a tour at all. It should not be sold as a tour, but rather as "express tickets and download of information about the Pantheon." The tickets could just be emailed, rather than having to meet with someone who will only end up sending a WhatsApp message with your entry tickets.

Meeting point was super easy to find and there was very clear communication. I arrived closer to the time than expected and the tour operator kindly walked me to the entrance so that I wouldn’t waste any time. A couple arrived around the same time as me and were having trouble finding the tour provider they’d booked, and even the other tour providers seemed to have not heard the company name before. Can verify that this provider is legit. Seamless booking experience.

We may have as well have done this ourselves. We met, collected the tickets and were given a link to an audio page to download on our mobiles, however none of us had a head set to play it and you cannot do it without or you would be disturbing other travellers. Of course you could read about it to, but the experience is not the same.

Your booking is as an entry ticket with an audio guide Headphones are not included in the offer, as stated in the product's "Not Included" section. Why didn't you mention in the review that you arrived late? Why didn't you write in the review that we were the ones who contacted you to inform you of the date and time of the tour? Unfortunately, some customers seem to travel only to criticize others. Travel is an opportunity to relax and enjoy yourself. Stop criticizing others and enjoy your trip.

We booked a tour of the Pantheon with an audio guide. Tiger, the staff person from the tour operation company, was punctual and helpful. His job was to meet us, check us in, help us download the audio guide on our phones, and give us instructions on how to find the correct line to enter. He did a great job, reminded us about pickpockets, and set the expectations very well. The Pantheon is easy to see on a self-guided basis with an audio guide downloaded to your phone, and I would definitely recommend this tour company and certainly Tiger.

Angry and disappointed

I received an email canceling the tour the morning we were to go with no explanation. Very disappointing as I had ordered my tickets weeks in advance. The local operator picked up the phone once, said they would call me back, and never answered my call again. Viator refunded but that’s not the point. When you make a family trip and a key visit is taken away from the experience, for no reason given, and no opportunity to reschedule, Families spend thousands to get to their destination and can’t rely that when they pay for a booking in advance, they may not get in, that’s ridiculous. it’s unprofessional. If Viator can’t be relied on, then people should stop booking through them. They said the local vendor canceled it without reason, which they’re not allowed to do under contract, but Viator should be held accountable for those they contract with. I’ll be seeking further redress and posting this online for others to read.

Rip-off

Rip-off!! They charged $38 for handing us two 7 euro tickets and telling us to stand in the same line as everyone else. The audio guide tour comes free with the 7 euro tickets. Just go to the Pantheon website and get the exact same experience without lining Viator's pockets and save yourself some money.

The meeting point was out of the way from Pantheon . Good if you want to stay away from crowd but not great on a hot day. Especially as this is a self guided tour and you are meeting purely to pick up tickets.

The meeting point is 150 meters from the Pantheon, just a two-minute walk. This meeting point is also a historical site, featuring the elephant statue by the great artist Vernini and located opposite the Church of Minerva.

Visiting the Pantheon was great, it was beautiful. The audio tour was just ok. I was glad it didnt cost anything additional. It didn't work on my son's phone and stopped working on my phone for a bit because the internet was spotty inside the building. I wish I would have known that the first 5 minutes or so of the audio tour started outside the Pantheon. We started the tour once we were inside, so it was off a bit. Also, it made you walk back and forth across the building, which was difficult given all the patrons.

We were late to our tour for the Pantheon due to another tour that we were on running behind schedule. Tiger could not have been more accommodating. Not only did he call to make sure we were on our way, he also waited 20 minutes for us in order to give us our tickets. This is all in 94° heat. We could not be more appreciative of him and his patience and kindness!

Very easy to find the meeting point to download the audio guide and have them take us to the front of the line. Highly recommend or else we would’ve waited an hour plus…which wouldn’t have been fun with a baby! Audio guide was 20 min which was the perfect amount of time. Glad we booked this!
