It's a fair walk from the Piazza del popolo.
It was interesting though I wouldn't go out of my way to visit it. The artefacts on display were somewhat repetive, as this site used to be kiln( about 2500 yrs ago).

Un vero peccato che abbia visto solo la fornace (che si trova nella prima delle 9 stanze visitabili e che è medievale, quindi non ha più di 8oo anni e non 2500 come ha scritto...). La prossima volta, se avrà più tempo da dedicare, potrà vedere il pozzo (enorme, quello di 2500 anni davvero, che dà il nome al complesso archeologico, davvero singolare che non se ne sia accorto!!!), i butti e le cantine medievali, la muffola rinascimentale, i resti di sepolture etrusche, per non parlare della cisterna etrusca e dei ritrovamenti dell'ultima grande grotta, alta ben 14 metri (chissà se ci è arrivato...). La invitiamo a tornare e a fare il giro completo (da quello che scrive pare che abbia visto solo le vetrine osservabili dal bookshop, senza biglietto!!!) e a scoprire tutte le bellezze che hanno fatto inserire il nostro complesso archeologico nella Rete Mondiale dei Musei dell'Acqua dell'UNESCO... Se non crede a noi, legga le altre recensioni, che lodano la varietà dei ritrovamenti e delle epoche coperte.

Most interesting place. It’s certainly worth the visit also with kids interested in history. Even if not famous like St Patrick well, I think it’s more interesting

The history behind Orvieto is fascinating. Very knowledgeable guide. Well worth the money. If you are claustrophobic don’t go!

This is a self-guided tour of the cave. It was nice a cool on a hot summer day! I learned a lot about the Etruscans and early Rome settlers, as well as information about pottery. There is a nice older man at the end of the tour that sells the pottery he makes. I was happy to buy an adorable holy family figurine set.
