This “tour” is very short, and is definitely not worth the price. Just buy tickets and see it yourself.

    Response from Host, Aug 2025

This tour's duration is 2 to 2 and half hours. But you have an opportunity to stay longer without guide.

Too many people in the group. Guide spent to Much talking and less walking especially in the heat. Could not understand him

    Response from Host, Jun 2025

Our group size is not more than 15 people. Our guide should explain about the Sistine Chapel in advance as it is a holy place and silent zone. Perhaps you didn't like this explanation.

    Great service and tour!

Extensive tour, can get strenuous. Tour guide was excellent, her knowledge was amazing. I don't think we would've seen as much without her.

    Alex_W, Mar 2025
The location and guide were in 2 different places and we seemed to be an add on. They were also 30 min late for a timed entry. The guide, while knowledgeable, was very hard to understand and didn’t slow her speak after 3x requesting.

    Response from Host, Mar 2025

Thank you very much for your review.

    Beware the stairs

    Ronald_S, Oct 2024
No where in the tour description does it mention that to see the entire tour you had to climb 5 flights of stairs. My wife cannot climb stairs. When I learned this, at the tour desk, I asked before we got tickets if we could get a refund. Of course the answer was NO. So buyer beware. We would have selected a different tour if this were advised in the Viator description. Very unhappy with Viator on this one. $197 wasted

    Response from Host, Oct 2024

Yes, there are some stairs in the Vatican Museums. We clearly mentioned that visitors need moderate physical conditions. Also we don't accept disabilities. Don't blame Viator and the supplier. It's your responsibility to read the booking voucher clearly in advance. Also, last minute refund is not possible.

    Great Tour

    ED_D, Oct 2024
Easy way to see these remarkable sites. The guide was informative and the art was amazing. The only issue was there were just too many people at the sites.

    Response from Host, Oct 2024

People love to visit these Museums

    Guide was helpful and knowledgeable

    Martha_C, Oct 2024
Overall, a great experience! VERY crowded day and tour guide only had time to point out the major attractions. We did have ample time to take in wonder of Sistine Chapel. One drawback was quality of headsets. Some breaking up.

Thank you so much for your review.

too many tourists and a greed vatican make poor partners

    DAVID_S, Oct 2024
The sistine chapel is something everyone from every faith should see. But the amount of people they let in, I assume for profit, makes it impossible to spend any more than a few seconds on the many sculpters and only a few minutes in the chapel. Terrible experience

    Response from Host, Oct 2024

The Vatican is very busy. You have to admit this situation. We can't control this situation. It's completely dependent on the Vatican. Anyway we tried our best to provide the service.

Good tour, just not what was expected

    Lisa_G, Sep 2024
We were under the impression from the description thatvthis would be a skip the line self guide tour. That we would be provided a map, a brief description then set our own course. Not the case. This tour is led by an english speaking guide. No map provided. Most of the vatican museum was passed through quickly. Had 15 minutes in the Sisten chapel. When we reached the Basillica, we were left to our own course though and were able to spend as much time as we liked. The guide spoke english well and gave good descriptions of each area we passed through with the aide of an ear piece. Skipping the lines was worth it. Rating average overall.

    Response from Host, Sep 2024

Vatican map is available in our office. May be you didn't ask it or we forgot to give you. We did our tour as we described. Without guide you could visit the Museums and Sistine Chapel but you missed the St. Peter's Basilica. With a guide you did all 3 parts at a time without any line. That is the advantages of a guided tour.

    Definitely worth it.

    Carla_G, Sep 2024
The good: The Vatican is absolutely beautiful. Very cool experience. Definitely a must see. The bad: the host didn’t seem all that thrilled to be there. They didn’t have a bathroom we could use at the tour office. Overall: I definitely recommend this tour overall.

    Response from Host, Sep 2024

Thank you very much for your review. Our washroom was broken. We are sorry for this.

    Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel

    Kathleen_D, Aug 2024
Tour guide was too slow and spent too much time explaining the paintings and looking for people. We didn't have time to see the Basilica.

    Response from Host, Aug 2024

Explaining about the Sistine Chapel is the part of this tour. You should listen her. It is an educational tour as well.

    Amazing and educational

    lucia_j, Aug 2024

Viator miscommunicated with agency and my tour was canceled. They ended up giving me entry tickets without the tour guide which is not what I paid for. Terrible organization.

    Response from Host, Jul 2024

Dear Sir/Madam, you asked for refund and tried to cancel this tour just 7 hours before your tour start. Your this try made many problems what you didn't try to understand. At the end you got the tickets. You should appreciate that. Please don't try to push your fault on others shoulder.

    Must see

Our tour was excellent! Anna was a wonderful guide. She had great insight and information and took great care of our group. Our time with her was well spent. Great way to experience the Vatican. Thank you Anna.

    Poor vatican tour

    Zalman_S, Jun 2024
My mother and daughter had a poor experience with your guide. The guide was not good. Ran through the museum, spoke fast and didn't even enter the Raphael rooms. They landed up going back after the sistine chapel. And than couldn't get through the door (only for groups) to St. Peter, so walked around and missed st. Peter. The tour was poor. And very disappointing. I am a licensed tour guide all over the land of Israel. I have a degree in history and comparative religion- so don't expect my level. But they said the guiding was not good at all. This is the first time in my life I have ever given such a review. When I was there the guide was excellent and it was the highlight of my time.

    Response from Host, Jun 2024

Felling sad for your daughter and Mom. Next time don't buy a group tour. Try to buy a private tour. So that you can do as you like. We were not committed to go to the Raphael room. To visit the Vatican Museums you need time but to cover most important highlights, you have to walk fast and follow the guide. Otherwise you will miss the Saint Peter's Basilica entrance. We have nothing to do if you leave the group or don't follow the guide. Our. guide knows his/her job very well. They are licensed from the Vatican.

    Interesting tour

    Kathryn_M, Jun 2024
This tour was pretty good but the guide had a heavy Italian accent so it was different to understand everything she was saying. The Vatican Museum headsets were not the greatest.

    Response from Host, Jun 2024

    Thank you very much.

Excellent tour. Tour guide very knowledgeable. I would recommend it fir anyone. It is certainly better option than waiting in long lines. Personal attention given.

    Great Tour and tour guide.

    Francesco_D, Jun 2024
Overall we had a good time with the tour. Our guide was nice and knowledge. The advantage to a skip your line tour is you get a guide who knows the museum and Sistine chapel and provides a good overview and explanation. We did the 10 am tour. AT 10 it was crowded and lines to get in are long but we were able to get in in our time slot. One thing to remember bring your official ID a passport is best as they do check when you first get in. Because of crowds they do make adjustment to the flow through the museum. Our guide took us to areas that were little less crowded like where they display to official cars and she made sure she kept pace to get to the chapel. Walking though the museum is pretty amazing even before you get to Sistine Chapel. I found some of the art work and sculptures even more interesting the Chapel. The Sistine chapel is definitely crowded and no pictures allowed. You don’t get to stay too long but still worth it. Because we are with tour group go out a different exit which lets go get into St. Peters Basilica with having to go back wait in the main line. By noon there was easily a 2 to 3 hour wait to get from the main square. We went straight in and took like 5 minutes from the chapel. That alone is worth it. The Basilica is also amazing and you can stay there are long as you want. The guide showed us some area so the church and explained some key feature and her time was done. We were stayed to walk around and enjoy the church. For the convenience of the not waiting as long in line and ability to get to the church from Chapel made it worth it. Overall would recommend do the tour.
