Leo is the BEST tour guide for the Vatican!
Our tour guide Leo was amazing!!! He was very knowledgeable about the art and history of the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. His energy and passion were so engaging and he made our tour a truly enjoyable experience

See an icon without the long queues.
Brilliant way to see St Peter's Basilica & the Sistine Chapel, without the queues. The guides took us right through the line-up without having to wait. The commentary by Francesca was fresh and interesting. Our party of 2 was late, but Franceska welcomed us when we caught up with the rest of the group. We saw so much, and then had the opportunity to go back and see more in further detail. A great tour of a landmark attraction.

Informative but too short and too big a group for the price
The tour was very informative, but in order to really take everything in, a smaller group would have been nicer. In addition, 3 hours is really not enough time to see and look at everything. The best part of this tour is the skip the line access and the ability to get into St Peter’s Basilica right after the Sistine Chapel. It was also a bit difficult to understand the guide’s English at times.

Great tour.
Excellent tour and great way to skip the lines and see the museum, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica. If your primary interest is the Vatican Museums, I recommend finding a separate Museum-specific tour, as it is impossible to spend all the time needed in the museum during a three hour tour which also includes the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s. Silvia was a fantastic guide and I appreciated all her excellent insight.

Vatican City
St. Peter's Basilica on a sunny day, Rome
  • Be prepared for security lines similar to those at airports, including metal detectors, bag scanners, and potentially long waits.

  • This is one of the most popular attractions in all of Italy, so crowds are nearly inevitable.

  • The Basilica of St. Peter has a strict dress code—no bare shoulders, midriffs, or knees—and you won't be allowed in unless you adhere to it.

  • A skip-the-line tour of the Vatican Museums that includes St. Peter's enables you to bypass the basilica's long entry lines; you still have to go through the security check.

  • Climbing the dome atop the Basilica to take in the fantastic views over St. Peter's Square, requires a ticket.
