Great tour of the highlights of Pompeii! You will enter through the gates closest to the ocean, see the market stores, houses with beautiful frescos. Would highly recommend doing the tasting after!
Our tour guide stopped and talked way too long at each building and repeated similar facts multiple times. The first 15 minutes were spent handing out headsets and making them work when everyone was at the meeting point 15 minutes before tour started so no reason headsets weren’t given out when we first checked in. Wasting 15 minutes on a two hour tour isn’t ok. After 45 minutes of the tour and hardly seeing anything, my group split from the tour so we could maximize what little we had. Maybe our guide wasn’t as good as others but I wouldn’t recommend due to the issues we had. You would be better off just renting an audio guide. Pompeii is huge and the guide should have been walking and explaining things at the same not, not standing in one building and talking for 5-10 minutes. 45 minutes in we had seen 4-5 buildings was all

Our Pompeii tours are designed to combine the main highlights with historical and archaeological context, so our guides sometimes spend additional time at certain locations to help guests better understand the site rather than simply moving quickly from one building to another. We understand, however, that every visitor may have a different preference regarding the pace and level of detail.
We are also sorry that the headset distribution took longer than expected on this occasion. The equipment is intended to help everyone follow the explanations clearly, especially when the site is particularly busy.

Unreal tour. Great tour guide and it was so much better than we thought. We learnt so much! Don’t recommend middle of the day as it was super hot (we booked 1pm) but regardless, 10/10 tour and experience!
Great highlight tour seeing the forum, domes and theme.
Going at 4pm does mean you miss the crowds

A guided tour through Pompeii is crucial!! Our train was very delayed getting to Pompeii and we missed our scheduled tour. Our guide graciously got us into a later tour. We appreciated the flexibility and highly recommend Viator to all our friends. Pompeii was awesome - thank you!!
Francesco our guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and kept us entertained. We would highly recommend this tour. It was long enough for a quick overview of Pompeii. We stayed another hour to explore after the tour.

Wonderful your with an expert guide. I didn’t love the type of audio earpieces they used compared to other excursions I’ve been on but that’s just a minor issue. I would recommended that they move to the more traditional headphone connection in the future.

The Pompeii guided tour was wonderful. My family and I enjoyed it very much. The archaeological site itself was fascinating, and our guide made the experience even better with their extensive knowledge and engaging explanations. We learned so much about the history, culture, and daily life of ancient Pompeii. The tour was well organized, informative, and enjoyable for both adults and children. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Pompeii.
There is a lot of uneven walking. A lot. One woman had an asthma attack.
It moves pretty fast and there’s so much more to see than what the 2 hrs covers. So you can see the rest after the tour.
Antonio was an excellent guide, explaining things clearly including the options at end of the tour. He also involved different members of the group by asking questions and asking them to demonstrate such as how the road would have been crossed when it was raining.
Francesco was friendly, knowledgeable and had a good sense of humour. We saw a large portion of Pompeii and he gave directions for how to continue on your own.
Where comfortable shoes due to rocky, and uneven terrain throughout the site.

This was such a great experience. It’s a HUGE city and this tour gives you the 2 hour brief highlights (PERFECT for those who lose interest or grow tired beyond a few hours). You get the history and the fun, but since the city is huge, it would be so hard to navigate and enjoy alone. Do this trip!! And our guide, I believe her name was Marilyn & I apologize if I’m incorrect, was so fun and great at her job!! Loved it

It was good to be able to stay on the park for longer than the 2 hour tour as well. Really needs a full day at least to see everything. Fascinating place.

Interesting and enjoyable experience. The guide was a little hard to understand which was challenging for our kids, but definitely worth doing a tour as Pompeii is large and it helped to know the history while walking around.

This is a must do for a trip to Pompeii. They take all the stress out of traveling to Pompeii from Rome. As a matter of fact, the day of my trip, the local train from Naples to Pompeii was on strike. If I didn’t pick this service, then I may never have been able to get to Pompeii.
Would recommend the tour to everyone! Alessandra (archeologist) gave a great tour bringing us back to the day of the eruption and explaining to us the lifestyle of that time as we walked through the ruins.
Paolo was very experienced in showing us around vast Pompeii. He guided us through various parts of the preserved city highlighting how the community once lived. 2 hours was definitely not enough time to take in this experience. The tour is slightly up hill and on rocky terrain so prepare appropriately.

Guide was very informative. Two hours is great for an overview then you can explore at your own pace.
Rushed at the end.....guide provided to many details( talked too much) and we didn't really see much of the ruins....maybe a square city block. Disappointing
