Laura our guide was amazing. She was knowledgeable and fun. We learned so much about Michael Angelo and also the artworks. The statue of David was incredible and so were the bright sacred paintings adorning all the walls which i particularly loved.. and also musical instruments from the past a bonus. Fantastic gifts hope too.

Christina Maria was one of the best guides we had on our 23 day trip and would recommend the tour WITH HER to every one i know going to Florence!

Terrible tour guide

We went on the Florence: Skip-the-Line -THE DAVID- Accademia Guided Small Group tour today and we were really disappointed. Our guide who never introduced herself, or asked us a single question, or even bothered to give any sort of overview before entering the Accademia was the worst guide we’ve ever had. She was simply walking through the museum and gave a narration without looking or speaking to us. Often times she would walk away mid-sentence without mentioning anything, leaving us startled that we could no longer see her. She made no effort to engage the group nor was she able to share the backstories of the art and artists, admitting at the end that she wasn’t an art-historian. There was very little history, and a lot of irrelevant opinions offered, including some disparaging comments about previous Jewish tour groups she had been assigned. For nearly $70 per person, the tour lasted 1 hour and, frankly we were glad to see her go so we could enjoy our time in the museum. Cannot recommend this tour over doing it self-guided.

Our tour guide was excellent. Seeing Michaelangelo's unfinished sculptures was a great lead-in to his masterpiece, David. We booked a 9:15am tour and by 10:00am we were still able to closely approach the David and easily see so much detail present in the figure. One hour later, the crowds had grown considerably. Highly recommend an early start to make it worthwhile!
