I was disappointed with the tour experience overall. The tour company needed to change the time due to rolling road blockages for bike races and marathon. The night before I got several unknown phone calls, one from a Royal USA Tours, a text close to 11pm asking if I was there and alright, and a difficult to hear voicemail. None of this was flagged as Viator. The morning of the tour I get a phone call from Signature Tour with a voicemail. When I called back, I asked if they were Viator. They were. Ended up we were the only ones on tour. Tour guide nice enough but he left us at the Library of Congress tunnel after the capitol tour with a photo pass. Was that part of the program or was he in a hurry?
Our guide, Dwayne, was full of enthusiasm and knowledge. It was amazing to learn about the history and details about the symbolism and thought that went into the beautiful architecture.

There is some walking and the Capitol building can be crowded. Can be hard to see the statues, as the room is crowded.

Also, go straight to buy your library card and then you can go into the library without a times admission.

Take the early tour, that way you have time to visit the gift shop. Use clear bags you make it thru security faster. It was a great tour. Our guide was friendly, personable and very, very knowledgeable, could answer any question he was asked.

This "tour" of the Capital Building is total scam. Don't waste your money on it. The tour guide gave us a 15 minute speech about the history of the building. Then we I had to wait 40 minutes in 100 degree heat to go through security. The tour was conducted by an federal employee and my group was abandoned by the Viator guide during the tour. Never saw him again.

Our tour guide Dwayne was ver knowlegable about the sites and everything in them. He was very friendly, super clear with the instructions and happy to answer questions during the tour. He was really happy to tell stories about the statues and different areas of historical importance inside the buildings. I would take the tour again with this company and this tour guide. Five stars!

This was hands down one of the highlights of our trip to Washington, D.C.! The U.S. Capitol and Library of Congress tour, including the Rotunda and the Crypt, was incredible, but what truly made the experience unforgettable was our guide, Vernon.
From the moment we met him, Vernon brought an incredible amount of energy, enthusiasm, and personality to the tour. His years of experience working in the U.S. Capitol gave him a unique perspective that you simply can't get from reading a guidebook or taking a self-guided tour. He shared fascinating behind-the-scenes stories, little-known historical facts, and details that most people would never notice, making every stop even more meaningful.
Rather than just pointing out landmarks, Vernon explained the history, symbolism, and significance behind everything we saw. His storytelling made the Capitol, Rotunda, Crypt, and Library of Congress truly come alive. We walked away with a much deeper appreciation for the history, architecture, and people who helped shape our country.
He also kept the tour engaging for everyone in the group, answered every question with patience and expertise, and made sure no one felt rushed. You could tell he genuinely loves what he does, and that passion made all the difference.
If you're visiting Washington, D.C., don't miss this tour. And if you're lucky enough to have Vernon as your guide, you're in for an exceptional experience. I would recommend this tour to anyone looking to go beyond the typical sightseeing experience. It was educational, entertaining, and absolutely worth every minute.

Decided to tour inside of Capitol in at breakfast one day in DC and official government website showed tickets were sold out. Went to Viator and multiple options were available for that day. Booked 11:30am tour and was very happy with how super informative and efficient it was. Tour guide Dwayne was fantastic.

It was canceled due to “National Prayer Day,” after waiting for hours and before being told we would be waiting for 5 minutes. Someone finally showed up to tell us that. They do not respond to messages in the app. And after all this time, the man seemed to turn his back to me when talking, even when I adjusted to hear! He adjusted to keep his back to me…

The original time was cancelled due to an “event” at the Capitol. We got nothing official to let us know it was cancelled. We did get a text from an unknown number and with poor grammar and we thought it was Phishing text. We were able to come back after the event and re book our tour. We were told this by the friendly guards at the visitor center, when we showed up at 8:00 in the morning

We include our company phone number in the confirmation email after booking so guests can easily reach us if needed, and so our number can also be recognized if we need to contact guests with important updates about their reservation, such as unexpected site closures.
We were greeted by our guide who was knowable and very enthusiastic about US history, US Capitol and the Library of Congress. He was succinct and direct in his instructions. We quickly reached our destination, but along the way he was inspiring trek with many tidbits of knowledge. He adeptly help to us through the strict guidelines and rigors into the Us Capitol. His knowledge and enthusiasm was infectious as we worked our way through the Capitol rotunda and crypt area. As we finished our Capitol tour he directs us to the library of Congress and the his recommendations of points of highlights. Overall, the guide was wonderful and knowledgeable. However, the trip is hurried and rushed somewhat akin to being herded like cattle. Too bad our congressmen do not work with the same amount of enthusiasm and care for his group as our guide!

Informative and very helpful. but the group was too large. Inside Capitol tour, led by Capitol guides, felt very rushed and even larger. Time ran out (this was 2 pm tour) and guide did not take us into Library of Congress although providing good tips for brief time there. Did not get close to Grant equestrian statue nor a few others, in part due to late start (after 2pm). Guide was very pleasant and answered questions.

Started off great. Duane was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. When then waited in line for 50 minutes. He handed us off to the Capital Guide, to join the crowd. Never saw either Senate or House Chamber. Toured Library of Congress on our own. Very disappointed

Review the list of items the are prohibited from entry into the Capital. There are strick security vetting upon entry. But don’t let these deter you, the tour was just wonderful. Do be prepared for a lot of walking. Dwayne was the best tour guide you could ask for. We would love to spend a whole day with him. To say that he is knowledgeable about Washington DC is an under statement. He was awesome.

Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. However, he only stayed part way through our tour because he went to get another group. We were given a ticket to also see Library of Congress as a group after the Capitol tour. When we got to the tunnel to head to the library of Congress, we discovered it was closed, and that the ticket we were given was for two days prior to the date we were on. I called because it felt like a scam, and was told they would give me a ticket for tomorrow instead. But there are no tickets for tomorrow. Save your money and book your own ticket.
