What are people saying about Washington DC

Alan is extremely...
Alan is extremely knowledgeable about history and encourages questions. He turns what could be boring history into really interesting stories. This was particularly good for our group, which included two teenage kids. He was great about engaging them throughout the tour. We also loved that we could fully customize the tour to our particular interests. This is in no way Alan's fault, but it was in the 90's the day of our tour, so we were all wilting by the end of our four hours together. Having resided in DC myself, I know that DC is an impossible town to park in. You definitely will have to do some walking in between monuments but Alan does a good job of strategically parking so you're closet to the car on the way back, when you're wiped out. We would highly recommend Alan. He is knowledgeable, entertaining and thorough!

Great trip and worth the time
This was a great trip. Our driver and guide Johnnie was outstanding. His commentary along the way was educational and interesting. I have visited many caverns and i thought this might be the same as the others but it was very unique and different. The car museum was awesome. Shenandoah National Park was awesome. Johnnie made all the right overlook stops to see the park. We did stop at the visitor center and I was able to get my passport stamp. The 1 mile hike Johnnie took us on was fun. (Note: a little uphill but not hard). Very fun trip and a great day

No Fluff, Just The Facts
I thought that the tour to the Madison was very thorough. The guide Marjorie was knowledgeable and gave detailed information. She took the time to explain all facts. The driver and guide Halper was knowledgeable about the facts of Thomas Jefferson. His driving ability was highly skilled.

Washington DC has a seemingly endless supply of museums, monuments, and major landmarks. Due to this glut of attractions, it's tempting to stay in town, but there are many reasons to explore beyond city limits, too. Washington DC day trips cover the gamut, including history-themed trips to former presidential abodes in Alexandria, vineyard adventuring in Virginia (one of the country's fastest-growing wine regions), and commemorative visits to Arlington. Then there is the colonial history in Williamsburg, wartime monuments in Gettysburg, and the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The moral of the story? Explore Washington DC—but don't stop there.
