Start this exhilarating San Francisco RocketBoat ride from Pier 39, where you’ll board your 70-foot (21-meter) watercraft, considered the fastest vessel on San Francisco Bay. Be greeted by your captain who wields his expertise at the wheel during a thrilling 30-minute ride.
Buckle in and prepare to soar across the water at speeds of up to 55 mph (81 kph). You’ll zip past the Embarcadero, AT&T Park, Treasure Island and Alcatraz — even travel under the Bay Bridge — while you listen to live commentary on these famous sights. Settle your nerves with a fun rock ‘n’ roll soundtrack and the occasional stop so you can grab your camera for one-of-a-kind photo ops of San Francisco landmarks.
Arrive early for a prime seat at the front of the boat, which tends to stay drier, or sit toward the back if you don’t mind getting wet. Complimentary ponchos are available upon request. You’re dropped off back at Pier 39 at the end of your exciting ride.

- Tickets are general admission. Boarding is on a first-come, first-served basis
- For front seats, please arrive early 30-45 minutes ahead of time
- Guests must be at least 40 inches (1 meter) tall to ride. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult
- Departures may be cancelled due to inclement weather or rough seas. You may choose to wait for next available departure or request a refund
- Guests can get wet on this ride. Seats in the back of the boat are the most likely to get wet. Free ponchos are available upon request to anyone who is concerned about getting wet
- Operator is not responsible for damage to personal property
- Guests should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, osteoporosis, motion sickness or other conditions that could be aggravated by this ride
- Not wheelchair accessible. Guests must transfer from their wheelchair or electric convenience vehicle to the boat by themselves or with assistance by members of their party
- To ride alone, you must be at least 54" tall. You may ride if you are 48" tall and are accompanied by another rider who is at least 54" tall.
- This tour/activity will have a maximum of 30 travelers

This was such a blast! My only complaint...it wasnt long enough! Thats not really a complaint, just me wishing to keep going at the end! We definitely got our moneys worth though, so much fun!! Id do this again!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The boat is big and colorful and so fast. I felt like I was on a roller coaster with all the fast turns. Going under the Bay Bridge was awesome. We did get wet but it was fun. We all laughed a lot for the great thrill ride.It is amazing.

Hi Viator we never got to go because it was out of season they only run this boat from May to October so once again we were let down by this western by not having the correct information given to us so another couple of hundred dollars down the drain ver disappointed in Viator

So much fun. My children 10 and 15 loved it. Beware though it is very cold. Sweatshirts and sunglasses highly recommended.

The Rocket Boat was exhilarating! The speed did not disappoint. However, I wish we had covered more area. We never got close to Alcatraz or the Golden Gate Bridge. Photo opportunities were very limited.

The boat was broken and out of order but I was not informed about the same...........When I reached the counter and waited for 30 mins I came it know about it. Viator should have informed me about it. However the lady at the counter was kind enough replace it with the Bay Cruise.

My family and I really enjoyed the ride...I have been to Ssn Francisco many times but never had done any of the water excursions...I highly recommend it.

30 thrilling minutes. We had an absolute blast. The water was quite choppy so it enhanced our trip and we came off pretty wet thanks to a couple of clever manoevres by our 'pilot/driver.' Unfortunately we were unable to take a second trip for the bargain price of $10. Highly recommend it.
