Visitor sold ticket and then changed time. Sent text messages but no mention of time change. Text didn’t include code for ticket. Couldn’t find code. Emailed and called Viator with no answer or reply. Turns out time was changed to 4+ hours earlier and we didn’t know so tickets were invalid. We are very unhappy about our experience with this company. Over $500 in dispute. We went and bought directly at the pier and extended our stay to use the new Alcatraz tickets. We suggest you go buy direct and avoid the stress and loss of funds.

Guests who can not afford these packages are advised to plan 6-8 months in advance.
When Alcatraz is sold out it isn’t about how much you pay it’s about how we can be there for you to make magic happen!
The value of ticket access is in the eye of the beholder. Guests should always book 6-9 months out to save the most money.

Amazing experience, highly recommended. Be prepared to walk up steep inclines. Wear a jumper as it gets quite cold on top of the hill.

Brilliant! Very well organised trip - very informative tour provided with a personal phone set which you can pause at any time. Alcatraz itself is a very steep climb but a golf cart was available every 15 mins to take people up if unable to walk. Fantastic views of the city. Prompt boat shuttle back whenever you wanted to return do no time limit

We state to go early to the Aquarium before Alcatraz to make sure you are able to do both. If you wait until your late in the day Alcatraz then it makes your visit to Aquarium short.

Alcatraz was great but the combo deal is a complete rip off. I paid 137 dollars per person. When I got to the bike shop where we rented the bikes there were no bikes available. The boat to Alcatraz went on 1:00 pm. So no time to come back for another time to do the biking and even then we were assured we were gone get some bikes. A lot of money for just visiting Alcatraz. So the tip has cost us 411 dollars for something that should only cost you 150 dollars for three people. I hope viator is given us a refund for this.
I rented bikes somewhere else so it has cost me really it of money that day.

The tour of Alcatraz itself was great. However, leaving San Francisco at 3:50pm did not allow enough time as the last boat returned at 6:30pm. We purchased tickets for the combo package with a bike rental and were not able to rent them as the bike rental office closed at 5pm and we were leaving San Francisco the next morning. We did NOT receive our actual tickets or any information about the location of the bike rental office until only about 1 1/2 hours before the boat left for Alcatraz Island. Consequently, we were not able to take advantage of the bike rental even though we paid extra for it. This occurred even though we requested information continually for the previous day and a half. When I called Viator, I was told to message them. I did several times. I called a few more times and was abruptly cut off and even hung up on. I couldn't get the information I needed to plan for our bike rental in time to actually do that.
I would NOT ever attempt to book anything from Viator again. It was a rip off to say the least!

Had a great time! Lots of steep hills so my legs were a little tired but there was lots to see! Hubby was super excited! It was interesting to read the inmates stories as well. Lots of history! Awesome visit!

Activities were as described. Was able to see the aquarium before boarding the ferry to Alcatraz. The lines were very long at the aquarium due to social distancing. Recommend going when it opens as the lines are shorter or at least move faster.
Lines at the ferry were organized and we were able to see all parts of Alcatraz.

We agree the social distance line does make Aquarium visit extend a bit but it is best to go early to be able to have maximum time inside this attraction. We know it is challenging but that is our covid world these days. Thank you for understanding!

The Alcatraz tour was excellent! We purchased this tour, which included Alcatraz and a ticket to the Aquarium, because the Alcatraz tickets were sold out well in advance. We did not use the aquarium tickets as there was a HUGE line to even enter the aquarium (This was on a Sunday). It would be nice if the tour operators offered a tour that did not require us to purchase something we didn't need to get what we wanted...

Aquarium does have a long line due to social distancing which is out of our control. This is their regulations and we have no say as to how many people are let in at one time.

Well worth the money spent to see the historic prison. My husband and I enjoyed our time touring Alcatraz. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area. The view of the city from Alcatraz is also amazing!
