The description promised "skip-the-line" priority tickets. This was not what was provided. There was a long wait queuing in the street under the sun with the tour agent. The tour agent purchased regular museum entry tickets for the participants once inside the museum. We were handed over to a guide, who procured audio equipment from the museum to distribute to the participants. All in all, it took about 75 min from the indicated starting time to actually begin the tour. The guide was engaging and told many interesting stories, but there was not so much time for details or questions. It was a whirlwind tour since the museum was closing in 1 hour 20 min after the walking tour started, and entry to the Sistine Chapel closed 30 min before that. So all in all, the actual walking tour lasted for about 40-45 min, followed by about 30 min visiting the Sistine Chapel on your own and time for gift shop visit.

Terrible experience! Tour started late, museum was so packed, even with the ear piece you couldn’t hear the guide. The group kept getting split up, so we were always waiting for people; with all that it ended up being rushed.

Sorry for the inconvenience you faced.
However, this days is the busiest day for Vatican and the maximum people came to visit. Hence to take all people together is the guide duty too if anybody left we are always ready to help them.

The tour was long, crowded and hot. Many treasures to be seen but 3 hours of slowly walking through the museums was tough with no A/C in there and little air movement. Our guide was pretty good but the headsets were not the best in that the earpiece was in one ear only and there was a lot of extraneous noise from the throngs of people packed into each room. When the tour guide got too far away reception was lost. It became overstimulating. My only goal was to see the Sistine Chapel. This was interesting from an art history standpoint but not close to as impressive as St. Peters Basilica. Were I to do it again, I would appreciate St. Peters Square, wander around St. Peters Basilica and definitely do the dome climb. Absolute highlight of the day for only 10 euros. I would save the money put toward the Vatican Museum tour for another purpose.

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly but unfortunately I don’t think many people could understand him he spoke too fast. We were rushed through the whole thing and didn’t get to enjoy much of it. Money absolutely wasted.

We were told it would be a 2:15 hour tour starting at 3:30pm; tour was closer to 1:30 hours (1:45 tops) including the 20-30 mins it took to get into the Vatican. What’s great is they are somewhat organized about getting you passed the line and into the Vatican. Our tour guide then spent 30 minutes outside in the courtyard walking us through some of the text of the signs. Then she obviously mismanaged our time and we had to brisk walk (I’m talking not a single stop, just walking as fast as possible) through the Vatican museum so we could get to the Sistine chapel before it closed. We spent less than 90 seconds in the Sistine chapel (which is unbelievably beautiful) so we didn’t even get to enjoy this thing we rushed to. Also you could barely hear the tour guide as she had it the mic pinned to her shirt instead of holding it and speaking into it.
I’m giving 2 stars since the people / tour guide were nice; but this was just clearly mismanaged. Felt a bit ripped off.
The Basilica steals the show over anything you’ll see in this tour.

Sorry for the inconvenience you faced. However, Vatican have their rules and regulation related to timing.

We were in a group of 24 people, started from one of Rome tour office. Walked to Vatican city entrance where waited about 15 minutes in the skip-line queue till we got in. It was rather smooth and things were well taken care. The tour guide lady was explaining every steps via radios we got at entry point All in all it was a nice experience, though the area is huge and it takes lots of time to go through, so we had to skip some parts. One improvement would be to use some sort of microphone holder so the .mic would stay closer to the guide's mouth, since it was a bit difficult to hear her time to time.

The tour company personnel were not very friendly, noncommunacative, and disorganized. We waited for half an hour at the museum ticket office while they argued with the staff about our tickets. The tour guide was difficult to understand and did not share any interesting information and mostly just pointed out museum art, never stopping for questions. We were left to go in the Sistine Chapel on our own and we had to see St. Peter’s Basilica on our own afterwards.

It was crowded coz it's peak but the guide was knowledgeable and booking tour just makes everything easy

Extremely bad and unprofessional company.
Out time was 12:30 pm, they changed to 2:30 pm, later they changed to 3 pm. The guide was also not well versed with English but he tried, I appreciate him but everything was rushed because there was very less time and Basilicas door closes at 5 pm, so in order to reach there the guide completely skipped the Sistine Chappel explanation, which is not his fault but the tour company’s fault. We paid so much money but were not satisfied.

I’ve booked numerous tours through Viator in several different countries but unfortunately I was extremely disappointed with this one. While touring the Vatican our guide was extremely slow paced and kept yelling at our group to “stay close”. We were clumped together and moving so slowly that several of the guards in the museum also yelled at us for clogging up the flow of traffic and stopping at inappropriate places. This made the experience extremely distracting. Our guide spoke more about staying together as a group and moving slowly than he did the museum. Completely not worth the money spent and really unsatisfactory. I’m going to think twice now before booking guided tours.

Explanations of the.selected art …guide was very accommodating re older people in the group… guide was clear and concise …
Baozhu_C, May 2023
Had a late start but that was still counted as the tour time so the whole tour was less than 2.5hrs and felt really rushed. Had not much time to enjoy and look around.
Lowell_M, Apr 2023
Guide was fantastic, but I paid for a small group tour. How does a tour that has over 20 people qualify as small?
Bonnie_H, Apr 2022
This tour was a disaster from the beginning. They changed the time and then wanted more $ which I did not pay. In the end the basicilla was not even included in this tour as promised.
Response from Host, Apr 2022
hello, you booked the tour which has written very clearly st. peters Basilia is free to visitors in your voucher *before you go * section the reason is also mentioned in the voucher, so it's a clear instruction was provided then if you don't read the information it's not our fault. the door closed since the pandemic to pass the travelers inside the Vatican. it fully depends on the Vatican's authority. nothing depends on us. I hope you understand and next time kindly read the voucher instruction and then post your opinion. thanks

Joyful to have a guide as passionate she was so pleased to be able to share the joys of the Vatican with us post Covid. An intense full on cultural experience loved every minute of it thank you.

We enjoyed our tour with Viator. The tour guide was very informative. I did feel we were rushed & would have liked more time . The guided tour of the Basilica was not included due to covid restrictions 😩 but our guide kindly escorted us there.

I loved it all the guide was lovely too very knowledgeable.
The only thing is you have to queue separately for St. Peter’s basilica and it’s not guided.
Response from Host, Feb 2022
