Amazing and passionate...

Sara_P, Nov 2025
Amazing and passionate tour guide can’t recommend enough! Gave me so much appreciation and seemed so enthusiastic and genuine about sharing her knowledge. 10/10.

Vatican tour

joann_o, Sep 2025
This is our first time to Italy and of course you have to see the Vatican just cause. Our tour guide was great and very informative. We learned a lot about the artwork and history of the Vatican and the church, of course; each of the buildings are there for a different purpose, and the Sistine chapel is truly worth seeing; the artwork and detail is really unbelievable and hard to believe a human could actually paint with such precision and detail. If you’ve never been, it’s worth going at least once and this was a great tour. Definitely wear comfortable shoes. It’s a lot of walking as it’s a huge place. Thankfully, we did the after hours tour and it was still crowded. I could not imagine going earlier in the day. Carry light as you don’t want to be carrying a lot of stuff and you do need to go through security Interestingly enough, this is a Jubilee year and we were concerned it would be excessively crowded but every tour guide has told us that people are staying away because they were worried about the crowds this year. So if you’re thinking about making a last-minute trip do it ….it’s just not that crowded

Very impressive guide

Laura_S, Sep 2025
Our guide was brilliant. He distilled the Vatican Museums into a manageable, yet powerful presentation and then focused on people's questions and interests. He had the knowledge to answer every question in depth. Very impressive.

Roberta rocks the Vatican!

Marita_V, Apr 2025
Roberta was great! She was very knowledgeable. Also, we wanted to mail our postcards from the Vatican and, even though there wasn’t really time allocated for that, she made that work for us, I REALLY appreciated her for that.

Go on the tour!

Marianne_D, Oct 2024
We had a lovely experience at the Vatican with this tour. The museum was breathtaking, and Apollo is back on display! The Sistine Chapel was beautiful. I would not have enjoyed it as much without the tour to help fill in the details and better understand just how amazing the collection in the museum was!

Sev was the best tour...

almorris30, Oct 2024
Sev was the best tour guide we had. He engaged everyone including the kids, we learned a ton and a lot of fun! Thank you Sev!

Not a great experience.

Elizabeth_M, Oct 2024
Our guide Enzo began the closing time tour with excellent explanations of the work of Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel. Unfortunately she was slow in moving through the galleries giving long explanations of her favourite pieces whilst many other tour groups passed us by. Consequently we had little chance to soak in and appreciate one of the world’s most significant pieces of art in the Sistine Chapel.

Response from Host, Oct 2024

Dear Elizabeth, We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. While we are glad to hear you enjoyed the explanations about Michelangelo’s work, we are sorry the pacing of the tour didn’t meet your expectations. Our guides do follow a set itinerary to ensure all highlights are covered, with each group allocated 20 minutes to appreciate the Sistine Chapel. If you'd like to discuss your experience further, please reach out to us at feedback@walks.org. Thank you again for your input, and we hope to provide a better experience in the future. Best regards, Jhonas. Walks & Devour Tours.

The crowds didn’t get the memo

Julie_D, Oct 2024
I was initially excited to take this tour with reduced crowds. It didn’t happen. Our guide was wonderful and she was also very upset at the crowds. It was mayhem. I’ve been on this tour twice before at peak times and this was no different. It was my husbands first experience and we were disappointed because the name of the tour set our expectation.

Response from Host, Oct 2024

Dear Julie, Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your guide, but we are sorry to learn that the crowd levels did not meet your expectations. The Vatican Museums are one of the busiest venues in the world, and even during off-peak times, there will always be a significant number of visitors. We always strive to provide the best experience possible, and we appreciate your understanding. If you have any further feedback or concerns, please reach out to us at feedback@walks.org. Best regards, Jhonas. Walks & Devour Tours.

Highly recommend the end of the day tour

Martha_H, Sep 2024
So much more relaxing & so few people at the end of the day. The peace you enjoy in seeing the art & especially the Sistine Chapel.

The Small Group Tours are Well Worth the Expense

CareyKirk, Sep 2024
As advertised, we took the "closing time" tour of Vatican City since it was supposed to be less crowded. Well, it was absolutely mobbed. It is September afterall, which is no longer a shoulder season for tourism in Europe. Despite it, we had just 14 in our group, and our tour guide Jeb was outstanding. He navigated the throngs really well, was courteous and respectful of his fellow guides. His knowledge was vast and deep, and he took pleasure in relating his knowledge to us, his is not a rout reciting of the facts.

You will NOT miss the crowd on this tour!!

Cassandra_C, Sep 2024
Don’t be fooled! You will NOT miss the crowds on this tour. Our guide was pleasant and knowledgeable but she often lost some of us during the tour because there were SO MANY other groups. She didn’t have a clue. Other guides were also inconsiderate and several times broke our group up. Because this is the last tour of the day everything felt very rushed. The crowd was insane. I can’t imagine what it’s like during the day with even more people. Ugh.

Response from Host, Sep 2024

Dear Cassandra, We are sorry to hear about your experience during the Closing Time Vatican Museums & Sistine Chapel tour. We understand your frustration and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. We strive to schedule this tour during a time when there are typically fewer visitors to provide a more relaxed and enjoyable experience. However, it's important to note that the Vatican Museums are known to be one of the busiest venues in the world, and even during less crowded hours, the volume of visitors can still be substantial. We appreciate your kind words about our guide and acknowledge your feedback regarding the challenges posed by the crowds. We will definitely take your comments into consideration to improve the tour experience for our future guests. If you have any more feedback or would like to discuss your experience further, please feel free to contact us directly at feedback@walks.org. Warm regards, Jhonas. Walks and Devour Tours.

Tour worth doing

Leonie_A, Sep 2024
Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. There was a lot to see. I loved the explanation of the art works previous to the Sistine Chapel but, maybe too long as felt a bit rushed through the museum. Having said that would still recommend 🙂

Closing Time Tour of Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel

Alexa_C, Sep 2024
The Vatican Museum is huge so for our first time we loved having a guide show us the highlights and give her insight into these pieces! Our tour guide (Valentina, I believe) was so great, she was a fountain of knowledge while navigating us through the museum and into the chapel. While this tour does not include St. Peter’s Basilica because of how close to closing time it starts, being able to walking through the museum without the wall to wall crowds was well worth it! We were even able to see the floor of the Sistine Chapel that’s how less crowded it was from the day times. Highly recommend!

Great tour guide

Nicholas_D, Aug 2024
Good tour guide, would recommend if you want to learn more about the history of the Vatican and want to make the most of your visit

Thumbs up

Lee_K, Aug 2024
Good way to see the Vatican, a little crowded but that is to be expected. Easy to meet up with the guides at meeting place.

Holy Tour, Batman!

Brian_S, Aug 2024
Our guide (Rosanna, I believe) was excellent and knowledgable, and patient when dealing with a bored child. She explained everything in detail and was able to get us in the back door of St. Peter’s Basillica. The museum was massive, but she seemed to know about every piece. The Sistine Chapel seems to be somewhere you go to say you went. It was chock full of people milling around and taking pictures when they shouldn’t have been.

Recommend, But…

Miroslav_S, Jul 2024
The tour was good and small. It was later so not as crowded. The guide Gigu was extremely knowledgeable and smart. He had a PhD from UCLA and knew the history of EVERYTHING. That being said the tour felt a little rushed; and he spoke extremely quickly. I think he had another tour to get to after us. I think he did the best he could with the timeframe. I wish we would’ve be able to go with him to St. Peter’s basilica. Nice guy, but I wish they would not have given the allotted time as we ended only after 1:40, not the advertised 2-3 hours. I would recommend this if it’s late in the day, you want to see the Vatican, want to skip the line, and it’s last minute. Otherwise I would go with another tour.

Terrible refund policy

Margaret_M, Jul 2024
Because of flight cancellations we had to cancel our tour. Even though this was out of our control, Viator refused a refund.

Response from Host, Jul 2024

Dear Margaret, We understand the frustration caused by flight cancellations and the subsequent impact on your travel plans. Unfortunately, we cannot refund tours canceled within 24 hours of the departure time as we have already incurred costs for venue tickets, guides' fees, and other arrangements. For unforeseen circumstances such as flight cancellations, we recommend reaching out to your travel insurance provider, as these situations are typically covered under their policies. We appreciate your understanding and hope this information is helpful. Best regards, Jhonas. Walks and Devour Tours.

brilliant

Stacey_B, Jun 2024
fantastic tour with guide Sev would highly recommend.. informative, interesting with so much to see great for families, metro only 10mins walk away.

Great tour with Franco!

Breeana_G, Jun 2024
Franco was a great tour guide. Provided paper references and taught us about the Sistine Chapel before we headed out from the meeting spot as he lets you wander on your own once you reach the chapel. Very knowledgeable as he led us through Vatican museum.

Tour of the greats with a expert guide

Patricia_Z, Jun 2024
I have been to the Vatican Museums quite a few times but took the tour to have my guest start to know it in a concise but extensive enough way. Jeb our guide did a great job of explaining and taking us to the historical highlights and also explains Sistene Chapel

Good overview of the Vatican

Nirav_S, May 2024
This was a thorough tour of the Vatican museum and the Sistine chapels. Our tour guide was Hillary and she provided a good overview of both sites. At times, I felt that the tour was rushed, but that was mainly because of the museum staff, not the tour guide.

More insights please

Marianna_L, May 2024
For the price I was expecting a tour guide with more insights to share. More then “In that room there are many important works of art of great importance” . He told a few stories but I was expecting more. And not reading information right out of the pamphlet word for word!!! Come on!!!

Response from Host, May 2024

Dear Marianna, Thank you for providing your feedback on the Afternoon Vatican Museums Tour with Sistine Chapel. We are sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. All our guides are highly experienced and have received consistently positive feedback from our guests. Your review is unusual, and we take such concerns very seriously. We aim to provide informative and engaging tours, and it is disappointing to hear that this was not reflected in your experience. In order to help us investigate this matter further and ensure it doesn't happen again, please contact us at feedback@walks.org with your booking reference number. We would like to address your concerns directly and make things right for you. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide you with a more enriching experience in the future. Kind regards, Jhonas. Walks and Devour Tours.

Great tour with wonderful tour guide

Bridget_Y, Apr 2024
Francesco was the perfect tour guide for this in depth tour of the Vatican Museum and Sistine Chapel. He was informative and has a wealth of knowledge, but was also entertaining and had a great sense of humor. The tour involved a lot of walking and the Vatican Museum is vast, but Francesco kept the pace comfortably moving forward and ensured we saw a mix of the most iconic exhibits and things that were new to all of us. We would love to do another tour with Francesco!

Afternoon Tour of Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel

Joe_S, Apr 2024
While the tour covered the highlights of the Vatican Museums, it was obvious that it would take days and days to do them justice. Even so, the tour didn’t leave sufficient time to see the Sistine Chapel. The guide took more time explaining the paintings in the courtyard that we were able to spend viewing the paintings before being ushered out at closing. While I realized the tour would not be entering St Peter’s Cathedral, I was surprised not to even have spent any time in the plaza between the museums and the cathedral.

Response from Host, Apr 2024

Dear Joe_S, Thank you for sharing your insights on your recent experience with our Afternoon Vatican Museums Tour with Sistine Chapel. We understand your perspective regarding the vastness of the Vatican Museums and the challenge of fully appreciating their depth within the confines of a single tour. Indeed, the sheer magnitude of the Vatican's artistic and historical treasures is awe-inspiring, and it would indeed take an extensive amount of time to explore every aspect thoroughly. Regarding the pacing of the tour and the allocation of time, we apologize if you felt rushed during your visit to the Sistine Chapel. We strive to strike a balance between providing insightful commentary and allowing guests sufficient time to appreciate the masterpieces within the museums. Your feedback regarding the need for more time in the Sistine Chapel is duly noted, and we will review our tour itinerary to ensure a more balanced experience for future guests. If you have any further feedback or questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at feedback@walks.org. Best regards, Jhonas. Walks and Devour Tours.

Fantastic Tour!

Luke_M, Sep 2023
This was an amazing experience. The Vatican is already a special place with a ton of history spanning back thousands of years. Our Tour Guide, Ambra, was super knowledgeable and had a lot of insight. She was also really lively and kept the tour engaging and interesting. I would recommend this tour to friends and family.

so disappointed

kellect1298, Aug 2023
the location, organization, tour itself were great. our guide was kind of awful. he was knowledgeable, which was nice, but he was very very negative. he gave a sour taste mocking the guards, the pope and the vatican. I wish i had never taken my teens on this tour as it left a horrible taste in their mouths for the church, I am really disappointed. the ear piece was awful and had a lot of static making it hard to understand him many times. although, given his pessimistic views and negativity, i wish we hadnt heard him at all. however, the climb to the top, the views, the sistine chapel were all beautiful. this company really needs to find guides that can relay history without so much negative commentary. most people wanting to see the vatican probably dont want to hear how much the guide hates and resents it. so so disappointed.

Brilliant works, brilliant guide!

Caryn_C, Jul 2023
One of the highlights of our trip to Italy! Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable about art history and the Vatican. She was able to get our group into otherwise crowded spaces while always managing to somehow find a quieter place for us where she could explain the highlights of the works we were viewing. She was very passionate and enthusiastic in talking about the art and it’s master artists, and even our 13-yr-old thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Highly recommend!

Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s

Patti_T, Jul 2023
Our tour guide Sev was outstanding! He was full of information, insights, and had a great sense of humor. The tour itself: St. Peter’s was incredible, the museums while interesting seemed a bit rushed - of course due to the crowds. Overall, it was a wonderful tour and I would highly recommend it!

Great guide. Amazing place

Carolyn_S, Jul 2023
St Peter’s basilica was amazing. Entire Vatican incredible. Our guide was absolutely wonderful and was expert at avoiding crowds and lines, thank god. Crowds were incredible.
