Be careful when using Viator

I booked a tour with Viator for 6 people for Colosseum in Rome. Five days before I canceled one of the guests. However, when we showed up for the tour, the wrong guest was canceled as there was a mix up between Viator and their third party vendor. Our guest was not allowed in the tour and therefore, didn't get what she paid for. Viator is refusing to refund us our money for her ticket and we are still fighting with them and will do a credit dispute.

We booked with City Wonders following lots of positive online reviews. This was my favourite tours and this was 100% down to tour tour guide. Our guide for the colessuem was Sylvia. She was so knowledgeable, passionate about the subject, funny and brought the history to life. We had a mixed group and she went that extra mile to make everyone feel comfortable and included from the youngest in our tour 4 to the oldest and less mobile. We would highly recommend booking with city wonders we used them for some of our other tours too.

Great tour and Andy was the perfect tour guide! If you're looking for something easy, this is not the one for you. It was pretty strenuous and uneven walking ground. Make sure to wear tennis shoes!

They need to invest in wind proof microphone. Very difficult to hear with the wind blowing. A couple showed up with 3 people who didn’t pay and our group was delayed waiting for them at times.

This was a fabulous tour, but it was a very hot and humid day. There are many more steps than we expected. Some people left in the middle of the tour, but we finished it out. The tour guide was very informative and tried to give talks in the shade when possible. Highly recommend.

Sofia was our guide. She did an outstanding job of providing just the right amount of detail for the many amazing sites. She was very knowledgeable about ancient Roman history as well as the historical places we visited. We wished we could have made this tour our first stop in Rome as we had a perfect view of the city during the tour. Sofia made sure to point out many buildings around the city that we could see from the overlook. She also pointed out items and details that would connect with Vatican tours. She also made sure that everyone was ok during the tour as it was exceptionally hot. Sofia was a wonderful guide. We learned so much from the trip and Sofia. We would highly recommend this trip!

Great ancient and contemporary history of Rome and the Colosseum that ties together archaeology, military history, ancient home building, civil engineering and the dual track evolution of Romans pagan culture to Christianity and the Colosseum from an ancient sports stadium for violent spectacles to a museum. Also touches on how archaeology had a role in the the formation of the modern Italian State after the fall or Napoleon.

Like walking back in time! Hisam (the Egyptian) guide was so great!!! He really brought you back to the gladiator times with his vivid descriptions and had such a deep knowledge of the ruins. The scope of the ruins and collesium was unreal. It was so special to be able to walk through and envision all the history of that area and Hisam was the best guide to spend the morning with!
