Leo was our group guide. Absolutely fantastic your. Leo is very friendly, knowledgable and and funny with it too. Was the best part of my trip.
Really good, in detail tour. Wish we got time to walk around the Palestine hill to explore outwith the tour
Sandro was extremely knowledgeable, very kind, and had the best tour with him! Highly recommend to take it
1000 out of 10 would absolutely recommend this tour!! Sandro went above and beyond in taking us along around the forum and Colosseum, giving descriptions everywhere we went all about the history and what we were looking at. He was also very attentive to us, making water stops and finding shade in the roaring heat, while also making sure we could all hear him in the audio headphones and that we stay together as a group. He was super knowledgeable and personable, worked really hard, and it was a really really fantastic tour!
Wow wow wow amazing from start to finish, our tour guide was amazing,
She made the whole experience so
Exciting and she was so well informed about everything it was an amazing experience I would highly recommend !!!!
Overall, we had a very good experience and enjoyed the tour. One thing to be aware of is that this company appears to be a reseller rather than the actual tour operator. They assign your booking to another local company, so your experience may vary depending on which guide and operator you ultimately get.
In our case, everything went smoothly. The meeting instructions were clear, the transfer to the guide was seamless, and our guide was knowledgeable and engaging. The Colosseum and Roman Forum were incredible to see, and having a guide added a lot of historical context that we wouldn't have gotten on our own.
My only suggestion would be to make it a little clearer at the time of booking that another company may actually conduct the tour. Other than that, everything was well organized, and we were happy with the experience.
Our tour guide Alessandra was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history. It was very hot in August, but she was great about making sure everyone had plenty to drink and took breaks.
The colosseum, palatine hill, etc. were amazing to see up close, and they sell themselves. The guide was nice, and had a PhD, but wasn't the most personable, and it felt more like a data download than an engaging learning experience. In contrast, we had other experiences/tours in the past few days where the host really makes the event.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, and gave a fantastic tour of the Colosseum. Our transportation from the port of Civitavecchia ran late, so we missed the Forum and Palatine Hill. Thankfully, we were able to connect with our tour operator and join in for the Colosseum. We appreciated them being so accommodating!!
We loved the tour, and Leo was a great guide. The only thing that stressed us out in the beginning is that no one was waiting for our group with a pink flag at the meeting point like they were supposed to. Someone in the company just didn’t show up that day. We were looking around for about ten minutes, seeing all other tours gathering at that meeting point except for ours. Thankfully, our group members found each other, and then the administrator found our group and introduced us to our guide Leo who gave us a fantastic tour. So it all worked out well in the end despite the original scare.
Great experience and we learned a lot! We booked this tour last minute because our original tour moved us from 8am to 1pm. Aphrodite was a great tour guide!
The tour was amazing. Alessandra made it come alive. She was humorous, engaging and very knowledgeable!
Our tour guide, Aphrodite, was excellent! We learned so much and she made sure to keep us together and answered all our questions.
Aphrodite provided great insight into all of the history surrounding the Colosseum and Roman forum. It was a memorable and educational experience… She was incredibly knowledgeable and a wonderful guide! She was even thoughtful enough to provide us with several dinner recommendations nearby for authentic Roman meals.
This morning I had a tour booked with this company. As soon as I walked through the security check, my child fell ill. This was unexpected and not something I would have foreseen.
After showing proof to the company ( as initially they were asking for this, ) they chose not to refund me for an experience I paid for and never received. The manager was extremely rude, did not want to hear or what the actual situation was and chose to provide poor customer service and turn me away.
BEWARE before booking with them!
Response from Host, Jul 2026
Dear customer,
We are sorry that your child felt unwell during the tour. However, it is important to clarify the facts.
You did not miss the tour because of an issue caused by our company. You arrived, met the guide, passed the Colosseum security check, and entered the monument with the group. The service had already started and was being delivered as booked.
After entry, your child unfortunately felt unwell. While we understand this can happen unexpectedly, this is a personal circumstance and not a failure of the tour operator. In such cases, a full refund is not possible under the cancellation policy, especially after the entrance tickets have already been used and the service has already begun.
Our team asked for information only to better understand the situation, but this does not mean that a refund was automatically guaranteed. We cannot accept the accusation that you were “turned away” from a service you never received, because the tour had already started and you had already entered the Colosseum.
We also reject the claim that our manager was rude. During the phone call, our team explained the policy and the situation clearly, while also trying to manage the matter professionally. Disagreeing with a refund decision does not make the service poor or unfair.
We always do our best to assist customers, but we must also apply the same rules fairly to all guests. For this reason, we cannot issue a full refund for a tour that was attended, entered, and started as scheduled.
Kind regards,
Rutas Romanas
We had Aphrodite as our guide, she was very knowledgeable and I would highly recommend her
The trip was 2.5 hours long and Rome was hotter than hell, she was very mindful of that, took breaks and was accommodating. I would definitely recommend Aphrodite for your tour guide
Our tour guide was Aphrodite. The tour was at the end of June 2026, temperatures around 37C. The tour was excellent, lots of historical information, she shared rendered images of what the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill looked like when they were in active use. Plenty of breaks to take pictures and refill water. For people who want to hear about a bit of history as theyre looking around these types of sites, this is the operator to go for.
Our tour was amazing, despite the scorching heat of the summer afternoon! The meeting point to start the tour is very clearly communicated and easy to locate. We were introduced to Henry, our guide for the tour and were given earbuds with an audio device to clearly hear him while he was describing the Colosseum’s rich history. Henry was awesome! It is obvious that he is very passionate about history, and he explained everything in a way that even our 9 year old child was fascinated by. We took a short break after going through the Colosseum before moving on to the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill. Both my wife and I had done self guided tours of the Colosseum on previous trips to Rome, and this tour was 100% worth it. I can’t recommend this tour highly enough!!
Great tour and great tour guide. Informative experience. Guide also did well to help group keep hydrated and in the shade during tour.
One of the best tours I've ever been on. So interesting and Aphrodite was by far the best tour guide I've ever had!
Lots of stairs; can be hard for older individuals.
Tour director was great and very knowledgeable. Great tour!
Leo our guide was very courteous to our needs. He was very knowledgeable and made it very interesting!! Leo made the tour interesting and fun!!!
Aphrodite was super friendly and made sure everyone had a wonderful time. Provided really clear facts about everything we visited and waited for the entire group before proceeding.
The tour was very informative, expect a lot of walking and steps, but you'll get much more out of it than visiting on your own
It was very good tour. Check in was easy but took us a while to locate the meeting point so give yourself plenty of time to get there. Luckily we had copies of our passports on our phones as we didn't realise we needed them to gain entry into colosseum. The male staff member at check-in was very nice and deserves a medal for how he handled a lady who had no ID and was extremely vocal, impatient and dramatic. He was kind patient and offered her many solutions to resolve the problem. The staff member who took us on the guided tour was also lovely to all guests, very passionate about her job and good humour
We had a fabulous tour of the Roman Forum and the Colosseum. Alice was a fantastic guide, so knowledgeable and funny. She gave plenty of time for questions, bathroom breaks and shade breaks to make it easy during a very hot day. Definitely recommend!
Daniella was knowledgable and charming. She knew all of the best places for views. Her English was easy to understand. We found the tour very interesting.
Wonderful way to experience the vast historybof Rome. Our guide, Lio, was amazing. Knowledgeable and funny. So much information to share with the group. Best tour guide we've had. Mille grazie Lio.
Our tour guide was wonderful, knowledgeable, and friendly. We learned lots about the history of the Roman Forum and Colosseum. The pace was easy despite the heat. I’d definitely recommend this tour!
Tour guide was great and filled in a lot of additional information about the history of Rome and Palentine Hill and the Colosseum. It was a hot day and he made sure that we got plenty of water, bathroom, brakes, and most importantly, shade.
