This foodie tour was fabulous. Victor, our guide, was very knowledgeable regarding the food, history, and cultures of not only Chinatown but of Hawaii. Food ranged from buns, to fresh local fruits, to lots and lots of fish. Everything was prepared beautifully and the pace of the tour was perfect. By the end of it, we were all ready to skip our next meal. :).

Come with an appetite! Victor, our guide and driver, is SUCH a good host and communicator! Checked in with us two days prior to confirm pick up location and to learn of any food allergies. Anyway, we enjoyed the variety of foods (and large portions)...no worries if you can't finish, it can be wrapped to go! Highly recommend this food tour with Victor...what are you waiting for!?!

One of the best tours we have been on! Tour is in China Town, food shops are small family owned and the food is incredible. TJ and Victor were incredible, informative and hospitable guides. We highly recommend this tour.

The tour was great. TJ did an excellent job as he was attentive and knowledgeable. I will say the food was fresh and very tasty but in order to finish to the end you have to pace yourself.

The best tour by far!

If you want to get a good idea of what true Hawaiian food is like you need to take this tour! It was worth every penny and the tour guides made sure we had everything we needed during the hot day. Would do it again and again if I could.

Hidden gem foods are the best!

Victor and TJ were the best. They were very knowledgeable and all of the food spots were truly local! Transportation from our hotel was also included. I would highly recommend this tour.

A must if you're a foodie!!

We were on a cruise from LA and decided to do this food tour. They picked us up right from the cruise terminal and took us to the meeting point near Chinatown. TJ and Victor were our tour guides. We stopped by quite a few places for delicious food. Make sure you bring your empty stomach because there are a lot of yummy food to try out.

Great time! Highly recommend this tour!

Knowledgeable, fun, accommodating tour. TJ and Victor were absolutely amazing. They looked after everyone, making sure everyone had enough water along the way. The walking was easy and not far and a great experience of seeing that area of Honolulu. There were so many different foods on this tour! We had a mixed group with a vegetarian, a chef, and someone who was not a big seafood fan but there were plenty of options for all and we all had a great time. Highly recommended.

A blast if you love fresh fish and fruit 🍍

Tiffany_E, Jun 2026
Pros: - Incredible selection of both raw and cooked foods. - If you love sushi and poke, this is absolute heaven. - Lots of unique local finds you probably wouldn’t discover on your own. - Knowledgeable, friendly, and laid-back hosts who make the experience fun and approachable. - The tour length felt just right; never rushed, never dragged on. Cons: - Be prepared: it’s a lot of food! Thankfully, the hosts and participating restaurants provide to-go containers and ice packs so nothing goes to waste. - If you’re traveling with someone who isn’t a fan of fish, raw foods, or is generally picky, bring them anyway! There are still plenty of delicious cooked dishes and fresh local foods to enjoy. Overall: This tour is absolutely worth the price. Considering what it costs to eat for a day in Waikīkī, I thought this was an excellent value. You get generous portions, a wide variety of foods, local insight, and a genuinely fun experience. I’d recommend it without hesitation. Bring a bag to carry your leftovers 🐠

A must do tour!!

A Great Taste of Hawaii

My family is more receptive to different foods than I am but I was even enlightened on the varies types of seafood eaten in Hawaii. We have learn to start with food tours when vacationing, great ideas follow on where and what to revisit. Our tour guide, TJ, was great.

This food tour was excellent. We tried several interesting local foods and learned a lot about the area’s history and hidden spots along the way. Victor was a great guide who took excellent care of the whole group. He kept things organized, made sure everyone was comfortable, and shared his knowledge with a friendly style that made the experience fun and memorable. Highly recommend him for an authentic food tour! Thank you, Victor.

Victor was an awesome guide and very accommodating. We highly recommend him and the tour. It is a must for foodies. Come hungry and bring a bag for leftovers. There is no shortage of food. Pickup was in a new clean van and great communication before pickup.

FANTASTIC first time food tour experience

alyssa_r, May 2026
Absolutely fantastic experience. Explore tiny hole in the wall eats that you would have never found without a guide. Weave through hidden food courts and back alleys so bring comfy shoes! Everything is included, guide made sure we stayed hydrated, clean with wipes, and together with call check-ins (I got distracted and wondered off haha). Guide was very knowledgeable in history, food preparation and shop owners backstorys. Really appreciated how he only brought us to local hidden gems, no touristy bs. My favorite part was checking out the fish market and fruit stands. Make sure to bring your appetite because I left STUFFED. HIGHLY recommend this food tour company. They also do free walking tours on Tuesday and Wednesdays I believe but could be mistaken so definitely be sure to inquire on that… 10/10 would recommend these guys!

Perfect Hawaiian food tour

He was personable and knowledgeable and made it fun and exciting! I was very happy with the selection of Local Foods and would highly recommend this to anyone! A must do when visiting hawaii!!

This was an authentic experience. Supporting local businesses in Chinatown, learning the history and meeting the people who run these businesses was such a privilege. Vic as our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and made the experience special for everyone. The variety of food was vast, delicious and I even tried new items. A must do if you are a foodie and want to experience something unique and special.

This is a walking food tour through the actual markets. There is plenty to see, smell and taste! Much of the food is amazing local fish and fruit. Victor is an excellent guide! We learned about the many cultures that have influenced the cuisine of Hawaii. Be sure to come hungry and wear comfortable clothing and shoes!

What travelers should...

Geneva_C, Apr 2026
What travelers should know (and our guide, Victor told us) is to wear comfortable shoes because most of the tour you will be on your feet. Our guide provided water and hand wipes for our hands after we ate. There is plenty of food, so don't eat beforehand if you are not a big eater.

The best way to actually experience Chinatown

Ryan_M, Apr 2026
★★★★★ 5 / 5 The best way to actually experience Chinatown Downtown Honolulu Chinatown Food Tour • Visited with kids (ages 11 & 13) I've walked through Honolulu's Chinatown plenty of times, but this tour genuinely changed how I see it. Taking it with two kids — 11 and 13 — I wasn't sure what to expect, but it ended up being one of the most memorable food experiences we've had on the island. The curation is what sets this apart. This isn't a tour of the obvious stuff — you're tasting fruits you've probably never seen before, trying meats prepared in ways that'll make you rethink what "comfort food" means, and actually understanding the cultural context behind what you're eating. The guide knew their stuff and made every stop feel intentional, not just a random walk with snacks. The kids were all in. I'll be honest, I expected some resistance — but they were the ones pushing to try the next thing before I'd even finished mine. There's something about the energy of Chinatown and the variety of flavors that just works for curious, adventurous eaters of any age. If you're the type who plays it safe on vacation, this tour will stretch you — in the best way. If you're already an adventurous eater, it'll reward you. Either way, it's a fantastic way to spend a few hours in a part of Honolulu that most visitors walk past without really experiencing. I highly recommend
