Excellent sightseeing and information. Food was authentic and delicious. Guide, Mat was personable and full of knowledge. His dashing good looks and pleasant personality didn't hurt either. Would def recommend and loved the small group size.

I am not disappointed there was no tasting in Chinatown, just surprised since it was the only info listed on the itinerary. Matt was upbeat and engaging anyway. We ate local treats . There were really limited vegan options but Matt did let us know ahead of time.

Lanai was a wonderful tour guide, very knowledgeable about Hawaiian history and the food scene in the area. He was a pleasure to spend time with, would highly recommend if you want a authentic Hawaiian food experience.

This was one of the most enjoyable adventures we have ever been on! Lanai was fantastic, taught us so much about the history and culture of Hawaii. Took us to places we never would have discovered on our own. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone that enjoys learning through food.

We had a wonderful time and the food was fantastic. At first, we were disappointed that the original host of the tour was not available. But Travis did a great job. He took us to a ton of places and told us lots of great stories about the history, food and culture of Hawaii. We feasted on a range of dishes and they were all delicious!

In a word, Wow!! We typically take food tours when we visit a new city. Our trip with Lanai was such a fantastic opportunity to learn some island history, Hawaiian culture, and, most importantly, to grub some AMAZING local food. Highly recommend this experience!!

Great tour! Food was awesome and Lanai shared a ton of history, facts and stories about Hawaiian cuisine. Lanai also gave us tons of recommendations and made sure we were well taken care of not only on the tour but after it as well.

It was a wonderful tour with Lanai. He shared history of the area and of Hawaiian food. We very much enjoyed the food at each stop and recommendations for additional restaurants. Lanai gave us a personal tour to local Hawaiian and Hawaiian-style restaurants that we would never find on our own. It was an awesome experience, not only for the great food but for his historical insights on the origins of the different dishes. It was the high point of our trip. As a bonus he gave us a list of numerous other local eateries that we an explore in future Oahu trips.

Local Food, Local History, and Fun with a Local Celebrity Chef

Had this food tour booked for four on Monday. On Sunday afternoon watched TV cooking show with local chef (Lania) and helper. To our surprise Lania , the chef ,met us to lead our food tour. We spent several hours being toured around Honolulu sampling great local treats and learning their importance to the islands. We spent time in Foodland getting the scoop on all kinds of local fruits and vegetables that were new to us. At lunch he took us to a local restaurant and filled the table with local dishes and explained the ingredients and preparation with the admonition to try everything.We did and were truly amazed at the flavors we would have missed. Along the way we got a history lesson when Lania was being stopped for an autograph. In short --a wonderful experience enjoyed by all with a true local who was easy going and proud to show off his home and cuisine.

Lots of fun! We got to experience real Hawaiian food and because it was at the beginning of the trip, it was even better! Poke is amazing! My son ate loco moco all over Hawaii. Thank you for showing us the real Hawaii!
