This hike is definitely a must-do, and I highly recommend getting there for sunrise. Jonah was a wealth of information during the ride, from history to best spots to eat. Once dropped off at the entrance, you're on your own for the actual hike, but there are always tons of people and the trail is well marked. They also provided flashlights which was KEY. Im not a big outdoor enthusiast but id consider it a moderate hike, with stunning views along the way. Highly recommend!!!

Friendly driver. Instructions were clear and helpful. It was a climb of various levels but the climb was worth the awesomeness at the top. Recommend doing early morning tour
Great driver gave us lots of information about Honolulu and Diamond Head was very prompt on picking us up and returning us to are hotel
Take water and take your time to admire the view as it is very hot and a long way up but well worth it
We went when it opened and it was jam packed. Too many people hence taking away from the enjoyment of the scenery.
It’s quite a hike but it’s gorgeous, totally worth the sweat! Do it or regret it-it’s a total must do just for the view! We went in as it opened and it was still hot but the sunrise was perfect!
A must do in O‘ahu, takes about 1 1/2 hours, If going try to get the 6am slot as it gets brutally hot. Great viewa.
Worth the effort and early am time slot. Very manageable hike that you proceed at your own pace. Driver was patient and timely.
The early morning Diamond Head hike was absolutely worth it! We definitely recommend going early before it gets too hot and crowded. The cooler temperatures made the hike much more enjoyable. The views from the top are breathtaking and make every step worth it. Standing there and taking it all in was a beautiful reminder of how wonderful the Lord is and how incredible His creation is. If you're visiting Oahu, don't miss this hike it was an unforgettable experience!
Perfect activity to do with my teenager. Beautiful views! Hike is moderate but short to do. Def worth it!
Great way to hike diamond head and have someone else figure the logistics. Driver picked us up at our hotel. Drove to entrance at sunrise and had our tickets all set. Also explained the hike so we knew what to expect. There are two different trail options. For most people take the easier route. Well worth it to have a guide especially if your first time. Beats taking the bus. It may be easy to Uber to the park but it might be difficult to get one back.
Wear comfortable secure shoes. I am not a hiker nor do I walk. Should exercise more. Was actually embarrassed about how out of shape I am. With all that said, it is a moderate hike for someone like me. Absolutely STUNNING views. You have olenty of time to take breaks, catch your breath and enjoy the views. Highly recommend the first tour of the day for the views and temperature. There is a short tunnel with minimal lighting so may need a flashlight if its dark outside or if it makes you nervous. Food trucks at the bottom were great. Also, no bathrooms on the trail itself so if you are taking your time and drinking lots of water...beware...lol. Great experience.
Stephanie was an amazing tour guide! She was friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating facts about Hawaii on our way to Diamond Head. She went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a great experience and even kindly dropped me off at my hotel, even though it wasn’t part of my itinerary. Her exceptional service and genuine care made the tour unforgettable. Highly recommend Stephanie. Mahalo!
Fantastic views - well worth the hike! Early morning provided ample opportunities to catch the sunrise. Good walking shoes are a must. Parts of the trail are wet and slippery. The terrain is in-even - and there are plenty of hand rails. Lots of areas to stop and take spectacular photos. Worth the money to have transportation to and from the park - makes entry a breeze. The air is heavy first thing in the morning. If you have breathing challenges such as asthma - a medical inhaler would help.
Wonderful hike, amazing views. I highly recommend this to any traveler. The hike is uphill with a lot of stairs, so certainly not for the frail traveler.
Great morning activity!! The driver and tour guide was fantastic and told you just what to expect! Highly recommend doing this hike. The view is totally worth it!
We wore hiking boots and really enjoyed the hike. Took about 2 hours since we took lots of pictures. We even saw a rainbow! We did the 5:30am pickup and it was already daylight by the time the park opened at 6am. We went in late June 2026.
The hike was amazing. I would consider it an easy - moderate trail. It's paved, but there are some portions that are steep. Epic sites and go early in the morning to beat the heat.
Everything was right on time. Our driver dealt with the traffic on the way into the park so we could relax.
Pleasant early morning hike. Communication was fantastic from the tour company. Plenty of time to complete the hike and take some pictures, even with the early morning crowd.
John was our driver. He was on time and very knowledgeable. He gave us tips for the hike. Must do while you're visiting Waikiki.
Our driver was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He provided us with just the right amount of information and he was a great resource for our questions.
This was a super convenient way to get to and from Diamond head without having to book separate rides or reservations to the park. Plus providing water was great! So happy that this tour started early and got us there and done before the heat of the day set in! Highly recommended!!
The bottom line on this experience is that you can probably hike Diamond Head more economically, but this package makes it super easy. You’ll be among the first in - which is a must because the “trail” and staircases are narrow - and you’ll get friendly tips on how long each of the three segments of the hike might reasonably take. You might even make friends who will take turns taking gorgeous photos for you!
The hike itself is very worth it, and booking this experience was motivating and made it easy to accomplish.
Plenty of time to complete the hike. Tour guide does not go on the hike but that is not needed -- he picked me up at my hotel, took pictures we requested at drop off site before hike started, and shared info about Waikiki on the way back. Perfect for what I needed.
Jonah was great! Good communication and smooth driving! I would definitely book Diamond Head hike again. 🙂
Bring water, take your time if you’re over 60. I’m 62 and had recent knee replacement 16 month age. I did it. I was slow, but made it
It was a great hike. The driver Jonah was courteous and friendly. He recommended a few local spots to eat and drink that were outstanding!
Making it to the top is invigorating and the most beautiful view of Honolulu- go at the earliest time available
It was a great experience I’m so glad I did it! The view was worth it! Our driver jonah was great. The steps was alittle challenging but I did it so proud of myself!
Exhilarating views. 3 hr total length and hike & rest length, perfect. Hike is moderate to medium level, but can easily pace yourself. Fun Group/Jonah was great.
Very timely both side. Pick was perfect . Driver was very knowledgeable and provided helpful tips! Highly recommended and do it at 5:30 . Views are spectacular.
