This hike is definitely a must-do, and I highly recommend getting there for sunrise. Jonah was a wealth of information during the ride, from history to best spots to eat. Once dropped off at the entrance, you're on your own for the actual hike, but there are always tons of people and the trail is well marked. They also provided flashlights which was KEY. Im not a big outdoor enthusiast but id consider it a moderate hike, with stunning views along the way. Highly recommend!!!

Beautiful experience, rain or shine!
Make sure you bring comfortable shoes. Tour guide Stephanie was great- she gave us a bottle of water and poncho in case we needed it.

The bus was clean and pick up right on time. Our driver, Stephanie, was so kind and had lots of good information. We had enough time to enjoy the hike, see the views, and return to the “base” to pick up a souvenir.

Great experience. Worth the early morning wake and hike around 6:00am. Views are breathtaking of the ocean and waikiki. Driver was knowledgeable, but they only drop you to the parking lot. You then follow the crowd. There are rough terrain, narrow tunnel, and hundreds of steps to climb. Be prepared and wear hiking shoes.

What right away in the morning. It was a big hike if your not a hiker. The view was amazing. Some of the family didn't make it to top but most did. Don't know if I could do later in the heat of the day

Pick up time was stated a day before and was right on time! Your guide Jonah was great and gave us some info about the areas we were driving to. Hike was stunning with amazing views. Was picked up at the meet up spot on time

Hike takes about 1.5 hours including paved walkway, rough path, a tunnel, and lots of stairs. Make sure you wear good hiking sandals or walking shoes. The views are amazing on the sunrise hike. Enjoy the Aloha.

It is a steady up hill walk, lots of people, but totally worth it. Try to get there to enjoy sunrise towards the top.

This hike provided amazing views of the Honolulu skyline and the ocean and lighthouse! It was very crowded (even at 6:00 am) but it’s still worth doing because of the views. The tour guide, Jonah, was great! He picked me up on time at my hotel and shared some facts about Honolulu.

Very easy pick up from Outrigger Beachcomber with a very friendly driver. We were there for sunrise and absolutely beautiful. I would considerate this a moderate hike up.

The hike is rugged in some areas and definitely need a flashlight if going in the am to see the sunrise. It’s a beautiful hike!

AMAAAAAAAZING pre dawn hike up Diamond Head! Jonah was FABULOUS: good information and timed our arrival PERFECTLY: we were at the gate at 5:57am (opened at 6) and I was able to be at the summit for sunrise.
KEEP IN MIND, this trail is a strong moderate if you start out super early in the dark to catch the sunrise, an average moderate in daylight.

Slightly challenging to walk unknown trail in the dark. Our flashlight wasn't helpful . The trail isn't a gentle walk quite herd for me and my abilities. But the view was fantastic. Very crowded at the lookout so expect to wait for your photo opportunity. The return walk was much easier but still not a gentle walk.
Make sure you get the return time clarified. We weren't specifically told and Unfortunately left our driver behind in getting his next group. So remember the 3 hours is door to door not at the crater.
We actually did make it back to our hotel in exactly 3 hours.

We did the Diamond Head sunrise hike, and it was absolutely worth it. Starting in the dark was a little nerve-racking, and we needed flashlights for part of the hike. I was definitely out of breath halfway up since we are not hikers, but taking our time helped.
The reward at the top was incredible—the sunrise was beautiful and the views were unforgettable. We were so glad we pushed ourselves to do it. Finishing the hike with fresh pineapple juice at the bottom was the perfect ending.
Even if you’re not an experienced hiker, I highly recommend the sunrise hike. It’s challenging but doable, and such a memorable experience.

Very cool adventure even if you’re not into hiking like me. Just follow the crowd and you will be fine. Bring bottle of water with you up there as there are no shops. Also use a toilet on the bottom as well before you start climbing. Tour guide was very informative as well about the area driving through and Diamond head. Forgot her name but Sammy is ringing the bell for some reason.

This was such a great way to enjoy the Diamond Head trail early in the morning. Easy transportation back and forth from Waikiki. We got there right when the park opened. Our driver Jon made sure we had water and flashlights for when we needed them!
