We booked with Viator 5 months prior to this event. We were notified that we were confirmed. Then, the night before the event were told the trip did not make so it was cancelled. We were booked on a Pearl Harbor tour as a replacement. We did not get to go see Poly Cultural Center or Dole Plantation as a result of cancellation.

Our tour guide Papa P with Aloha Sunshine Tours did an excellent job and give us the 5 star treatment. It was a full day of activities and no time was wasted. Very well coordinated by Papa P. We learned a lot at the USS Arizona Memorial and the Polynesian Cultural Center.

Our guide was really good but we haven't done all things which we paid for. No movie in pearl harbor and we reached Dole 5:05pm 25min we they closed. No use going there. Not well planned.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Aloha Jos 🌺,
Mahalo for taking the time to share your feedback. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed your guide and appreciated their efforts throughout the day.
We're sorry to learn that some parts of the tour did not meet your expectations. The film at Pearl Harbor can occasionally be unavailable due to operational changes, capacity restrictions, or timing beyond our control. Regarding the stop at Dole Plantation, we understand your disappointment in arriving close to closing time and not having enough time to fully enjoy the experience.
We truly value your comments, as they help us improve the timing and overall experience for future guests. Thank you for joining us, and we hope we'll have another opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future.

Loved this tour. Got all the good spots of Oahu. We ended up doing a private tour and our guide Will was awesome! We all had the best time. We learned a lot about Pearl Harbor and the island. We ate a lot of great foods. Because it was a private tour we were able to stop at fruit stands and a malasada truck. Oh and the nut house. Will was such a great tour guide. Highly recommend this tour.

We had a wonderful day and an excellent tour with Summer and Uncle Frank. The day was perfect and Summer even went off route to show us some additional things not scheduled on the tour. My son left a souvenir on board and Uncle Frank made a special trip to bring it to us. These are wonderful human beings and I will suggest a tour with them to everyone I know. I hope to see them both again when I return in December!

Oh boy where do I start. What a great day by Papa P! The best tour. Long day but we were still on East coast time so the early start was worth this day. 12 hours and we loved it. Papa provided drinks for hydrations and snacks. Pre ordered lunch (not included, which was known) Impromptu stops along the way. Dole plantation was nothing of anyting but we wanted to stop. Polynesian center was awesome. He knew when to move from on show to the next to get great seats. We had time on our own as well. He was prepared at lunch with things to wash our hands and also keep the bugs away.
Thank you Papa Paulo for the best tour!!
Thank you Barbara

Mahalo nui loa for your wonderful and detailed review! We’re so happy to hear you had such an amazing day with Papa P 🤙 It’s great that the long journey still felt worthwhile and that you enjoyed the drinks, snacks, thoughtful preparation, and those special impromptu stops along the way.
We’re also glad to know his timing and planning at the Polynesian Cultural Center helped you make the most of the shows and your overall experience. Papa P truly puts a lot of care into making sure guests are comfortable and having a great time.
Mahalo for choosing Aloha Sunshine Tours, and we hope to welcome you back to Hawaiʻi again soon 🌈
Randi_T, May 2026
This was an immersive cultural and historical experience thanks to our guide, Pappa P! He is a wonderful storyteller and history buff who shared some incredible things about his own family's experience during the Pearl Harbor bombing and life after. He guided us on where to go at Pearl Harbor and ensured we all had seats to the two main shows at the Polynesian Cultural Center. The shows are only once a day, so this was incredibly helpful. The Dole Plantation was underwhelming, but Pappa P had warned us about it. He also allowed us to choose which quick stops we made along the way. Our group voted on ice cream at the coffee bean farm instead of stopping at the fruit stand! He also ensured we had food and even had a huge box of snacks and cold drinks for everyone. The tour itself was lovely, but Pappa P made it an incredible educational and immersive experience.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you so much for your amazing and detailed review! 😊 We’re thrilled to hear that your experience was both educational and immersive.
Pappa P will truly appreciate your kind words—his passion for history and storytelling, especially sharing personal and meaningful perspectives, is what makes his tours so special. We’re glad he was able to guide you smoothly through Pearl Harbor and ensure you didn’t miss the Polynesian Cultural Center shows—those moments are definitely highlights of the day!
It’s also great to hear you enjoyed the flexibility in stops, the thoughtful planning, and of course the snacks and drinks along the way 😊 We always aim to make the experience comfortable and memorable for everyone.
We appreciate your honest feedback about the Dole Plantation and are glad expectations were set ahead of time.
Mahalo for touring with us—we hope to welcome you back again soon for another unforgettable adventure! 🌺
GLORIA_M, May 2026
We did not get to see all of Pearl Harbor because of time restrictions. We were moving fast and broke up our group to get photos. Did not see any museums.
Was a good place to see at a slower pace.
Only had 20 mins at the Dole plantation enough time to go to the bathroom.
The lunch was unnecessary and wasted more time from a trailer with awnings to eat under. It poured down rain and the awnings leaked. The Polynesian center was wonderful and could have ate here. Better choices too!
Our driver summer kept coughing and telling us not to talk as we were being disrespectful to others who wanted to hear the history. I was listening to his history and enjoyed that. What I did not like is Summer insisted you hug after the tour and I do not hug. Sexual abuse is real and affects you all your life. We all have issues in life and just want to enjoy what we can. Summer was yelling at a couple passengers and at the end got upset because they did not hug. then almost hit another vehicle pulling out because he was upset with them. Almost hit another pedestrian. Our tour ended up 12 hours mostly because it’s a long drive. When our group got off and did not hug, we gave Summer a tip, left to go back to the van and ran back and said she does not take tips from people who do not hug. What the hell. Then we all got sick from the quide being sick. lol
How do you write a review about all of this.
Response from Host, May 2026
Aloha Gloria,
Mahalo for taking the time to share your experience. We are very sorry to hear that your tour did not meet expectations and that parts of the day caused discomfort and concern. This is not the level of professionalism, safety, or guest care we expect from our team.
We take all guest feedback seriously, especially regarding communication, conduct, and safety. The behavior you described, including interactions with guests and driving concerns, will be escalated immediately to management for a full internal review. Guest safety and respect for personal boundaries are extremely important to us, and we do not take situations like this lightly.
We are also sorry to hear that the timing at Pearl Harbor and Dole Plantation felt rushed and that weather impacted the lunch experience. We understand how these factors affected your overall day and appreciate you sharing the details so we can improve.
Mahalo again for your feedback. It will be reviewed thoroughly as we work to address these concerns and improve future guest experiences 🌺

Only got to spend 45 minutes at the Dole Plantation. Would have like to spend less time at the PCC and have more time at Dole.
Would have rather ate at the PCC instead of the mobile truck stop.
Shuttle Driver, Summer, was great.
Response from Host, May 2026
Aloha Joy 🌺
Mahalo for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed Summer as your shuttle driver and that she helped make the day enjoyable 🤙
We also appreciate your comments regarding the timing at Dole Plantation and your preference for dining at the PCC. Feedback like this helps us continue improving the overall tour experience for future guests.
Mahalo again for joining us, and we hope to welcome you back to Hawaiʻi again soon 🌈

Pearl Harbor was very interesting. Learned things I didn’t know.
It was raining so we didn’t get to tour the Dole Plantation. That was a little disappointing. The Polynesian Center was nice to watch some show and learn about the culture of Hawaii.
Response from Host, May 2026
Aloha! 🌺 Mahalo for your feedback! We’re so glad you found Pearl Harbor meaningful and enjoyed learning more about its history. We understand the disappointment about missing Dole Plantation due to weather, but happy to hear you still enjoyed the Polynesian Cultural Center and its shows. We appreciate you joining us and hope to see you again soon 😊
Kelley_T, May 2026
Very good tour - our guide Papa P was full of educational tidbits and some good jokes too. We had never been to any of the destinations - Pearl Harbor was smaller than expected but well done. We still aren’t sure what to think about the cultural center - it was a bit theme park-ish but very clean and staff were very nice. We made a few extra stops - macadamia nut farm and coffee world and also had a great drive by of several north shore spots. Lunch stop was a shrimp truck (they had chicken and veg options too) - we thought it was great but some people on our tour were not thrilled. All in all - a long day but packed w a lot - good tour especially if you’re short on time and won’t get to a lot of these spots otherwise.

Aloha! 🌺 Mahalo for your detailed feedback! We’re so glad you enjoyed the tour with Papa P—he’s full of great stories and humor 😊 We appreciate your thoughts on the stops and lunch as well. Happy to hear you had a full and memorable day with us!

It was a great tour. Pappa P was a great tour guy. He went out his way to make our tour fun and make it very comfortable for all of us. My friend was in a wheelchair and he gladly helped us to push her around. I do recommend this tour to friends and family.

We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you and your ʻohana back to Hawaiʻi again soon 🌈
Emily_C, May 2026
Our guide Summer really made this 5 stars. It’s a long day but she knew just how to keep things light ans interesting and quiet at the right times. All the stops were as expected but I do wish there was a tour that just did Polynesian village and dole and maybe the macadamia farm I would’ve liked more time at those stops and could skipped Pearl Harbor I’ve been before.
Response from Host, May 2026
Aloha Emily 🌺
Mahalo for your kind review! We’re so happy Summer made the day fun and enjoyable 🤙 We also appreciate your feedback about wanting more time at the Polynesian Cultural Center, Dole Plantation, and macadamia farm stops.

Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you so much for your kind words! 😊 We’re glad you enjoyed the hike and e-bike ride. We’ll be sure to pass your compliments to Ryan. Hope to see you again soon!
Dolores_P, May 2026
It was , IMO, inappropriate to refer to the Dole Plantation as a "stop". It was insulting and disappointing. It was merely a brief stop at the gift shop! Absolutely nothing about pineapples. You needed an hour to take the Plantation train. Did note even see a pineapple plant. Waste of time and false advertising.
Response from Host, May 2026
Aloha 🌺
Mahalo for sharing your thoughts with us. We’re truly sorry the Dole Plantation stop felt too short and not what you were expecting. On group tours, time is limited so we can show many highlights across the island in one day, but we understand how that can feel rushed.
We really appreciate your honest feedback and will share it with our team so we can improve the experience.
We hope we can welcome you back again to Hawaiʻi for a better experience next time 🌈
Wanda_H, May 2026
This tour takes you to many wonderful places. If you like to spend a lot of time exploring a location, such as Pearl Harbor, this tour is not for you. You're on a time schedule and can't explore everything
Response from Host, May 2026
Aloha,
Mahalo for sharing your feedback. We appreciate you highlighting both the variety of places visited and also your honest perspective about the time constraints at each stop, including Pearl Harbor.
We understand that some guests prefer a slower pace with more time to explore each location in depth, while this type of island tour is designed to provide a broader overview of multiple highlights within a set schedule. Your comments about pacing and expectations are helpful and will be shared with our team for review so we can continue improving how we communicate the tour experience in advance.
Mahalo again for your review and for joining us. 🌺

Papa P. Was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and places we went. He went out of his way to ensure we were having a good time & kept things on schedule. He kept us entertained with stories and songs on the ride between places.
Pearl Harbor was very educational & enlightening, Polynesian Cultural Center was super interesting and entertaining & Dole plantation was beautiful and the pineapple ice cream delicious!!

Mahalo nui loa for your wonderful review! We’re so happy to hear that Papa P made your experience fun, entertaining, and informative 🤙 It’s great that his stories, songs, and knowledge helped make the journey between stops just as enjoyable as the destinations themselves.
We’re also thrilled you enjoyed visiting Pearl Harbor, the Polynesian Cultural Center, and Dole Plantation along with that famous pineapple ice cream 🍍
We truly appreciate your kind words and hope to welcome you back to Hawaiʻi for more unforgettable adventures soon 🌈

What a wonderful experience! This was my second time in Hawaii and my first time traveling solo, and the tour was an amazing way to experience the island! Papa P was fantastic, and as a local, he provided detailed history about our stops and the sights we passed. His commentary and jokes helped to make the long commute between destinations entertaining and fly by! Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona are a must have stop. The place provides many was for people to learn about the our history, even providing interactive reading and activities to bring you into what people had to go through. The Arizona always takes your breath away when you are stood across from the names of men who passed during the bombing. You even get to see the parts of the ship that are still visible after it sunk. It really makes you realize the impacts these events and wars have on everyone and makes you take a second to be grateful that you are here to share these experiences with the loved ones in your life. Papa P was always thinking about how to give our group the best experience, and he took us to the Polynesian Cultural Center (PPC) before Dole, allowing us to experience the canoe parade that could otherwise be missed if going to the Dole Plantation first. PPC provided entertaining yet insightful way to learn about the Polynesian culture with displays of dances from the islands across the world, a canoe ride with a worker to provide history, interactive activities, and museum tours with works to give history on the items! They also have small shops to buy food, drinks, and souvenirs. The workers are incredibly kind and insightful on sharing their culture. We stop for lunch at Shrimp Da Bomb, and while I’m allergic to shrimp they had a chicken option and a vegetarian option, which I chose. Papa P was thoughtful to set up the tables to allow us to eat family style, providing sauces, sanitizers, and even fly swatting fans. He was always considerate on making sure everyone was included, always trying to talk to everyone and learn about when they’re traveling from and what brings them! Papa P also includes a few additional stops to what was advertised, one of which included the Macadamia Nut Farm! It’s a lovely little place that has great souvenirs and local vendors that are lovely and very good at their jobs 😭! The farm provided free samples of their local coffee, macadamias, and various beauty items before purchasing. I managed to get lovely local jewelry from a vendor for gifting and even beautiful and inexpensive post cards! The vendor was very kind and even provided me with a free bracelet with my purchase! Papa P drove as past sights such as where’d they filmed scenes for big movies and even some landmarks where we had the options to get out for pictures! The Dole Plantation has a big store, but it’s items are definitely catered to tourist. Some of the items seem a bit tacky in my opinion and seemed like you’d be a walking advertisement with the items. Besides that, they have a great variety of snacks to choose from! They also had activities such as a train ride around the plantation, a maze, and a self guided garden tour. We were not able to do those though, but Papa P did ask if anyone was wanting to do the train ride so that he’d know how much time to allow us to explore. The plantation also provided trucks with dole whip and some food options. I didn’t go for it this time though because Papa P was very kind and brought us to a local coffee and ice cream shop that is actually one of his favorites. The place had delicious ice cream that is made in Hawaii and coffee that is roasted at the location! The staff were very warm and welcoming, and the shop even provided free samples of their coffees and tea before purchase. The shop has a small gift shop inside if you wanted to get souvenirs. The shop’s decor was lovely and felt down to earth with lots of artwork and posters and a door filled with stickers, business cards, and even posters for events like concerts. Papa P was always thinking of us and how to provide us with the best experience while making it entertaining,
even pulling out his guitar to sing for us! I was a bit nervous traveling solo and doing a tour, feeling like I might be back of the group, but Papa was wonderful and making everyone feel included. And I was grateful to have wonderful people in my group to talk to me when they saw I was standing alone! Overall, the tour is a must do on your trip as the all day experience allows you to learn so much about the culture and provides good opportunities for photos and gifts/souviners!
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed and heartfelt review!
We’re truly honored you chose to spend part of your solo trip with us, and it means a lot to hear that the experience helped you feel comfortable, included, and able to fully enjoy the island. Traveling solo can be a big step, and we’re so glad your group—and especially Papa P—made it such a positive and memorable adventure.
It’s wonderful to hear how much you connected with the history of Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial. As you said so beautifully, it’s a powerful place that leaves a lasting impact and gives perspective on the sacrifices made.
Papa P will be absolutely thrilled to hear your kind words. His passion for sharing local history, culture, and hidden gems—along with his humor and personal touches (even the guitar!)—is what makes his tours so special. We’re glad you enjoyed the thoughtful stops, from the Polynesian Cultural Center to the macadamia farm and local coffee shop, as well as the care he took to make everyone feel included.
We also appreciate your honest feedback on places like the Dole Plantation—it’s insights like yours that help future guests know what to expect and help us continue improving the experience.
Thank you again for joining us and for recommending the tour so highly. We hope to welcome you back to Hawaii for another unforgettable adventure!

Fantastic tour that I highly recommend! Papa P as the tour guide is a win-win situation. He is a native and extremely entertaining and knowledgeable! He told us history along the way, sang, played his instrument at a stop and added a few bonus stops along the way. It truly is an all day adventure worth every penny and more! The polynesian cultural center has so many experiences and Papa P made sure we got to the best spots inside such as the canoe celebration, the canoe voyage, and so much more! Each stop on the tour provided a new experience, and we got to see a turtle from a distance, some of the most refreshing ice cream and delicious shrimp dinner which we ate family style with added condiments thanks to Papa P! We stopped at the dole plantation along with the macadamia nut farm where there were so many awesome samples. We were not just driven but truly guided along the way at every location which was great for a 1st timer such as myself. There was a peaceful calmness at the Pearl Harbor and a joyous vibe as we rode in the van. Papa P provided nice refreshing drinks, snacks, candy and made sure to adjust air condition to our comfort. This was an absolute amazing tour so if you are considering then let this be your sign to go for it! Trust, you will be satisfied and glad you did as it is a samll intimate group with memories to last a lifetime!!!!

What a fantastic way to experience Oahu if you have limited time but want to see as much as possible. The tour operator Papa P picked us up promptly at 0555 hours from Hilton Hawaiian village. We had a total of 21 in our group. The first stop was Pearl harbor museum and USS Arizona memorial. What a somber sight but necessary to remember our history so we learn and teach our future generations. Next trip was to grab lunch at shrimp da bomb on the way to Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC). The food was average at best and very expensive but we were hungry so anything would have been sufficient. The PCC was a fantastic experience which incorporated not only Hawaiian culture but Aotearoa, Fiji, Samoa, Tahiti, Tonga. This was reminiscent of Disney World with restaurants of the world all together. Each section had its own styles from the specific representative culture, with not only traditional shows like dancing, music and fire but hands on immersive experiences. The Dole Pineapple plantation could have been better as it was just the shop for us. We didn't have time for the train ride through the pineapple farms or the maze. Along the way, Papa P planned numerous short stops to popular touristic destinations like Kualoa Ranch where many movie scenes were filmed on location including Jurassic Park. Other brief stops included but not limited to the Banzai Pipeline, Sharks Cove and Turtle Bay for photo ops. Along the journey, we stopped at some roadside food and shopping places for coffee, fruits, jewelry and knicknacks. Papa P also narrated the trip which was quite interesting in learning the historical aspects of where we passed on the way. All in all, a great excursion and Papa P should get be praised for his interest in our personal experience.
