Terrific guide, Jackson. We enjoyed the beautiful hike to Monoa Falls and were treated to incredible views of the area from the top of an awesome hilltop. The lunch and lunch stop were both fantastic!

This was amazing!! George is a great guide! After the recent storms the trail was rough and steep. George stayed right with us and offered a hand when it was needed!! He even brought walking sticks for the group, they helped a lot with the climb! The waterfall was stunning and well worth the hike up!

Great way to spend some time

We really enjoyed this excursion. We were lucky that we traveled on a small tour. There were only 10 of us. It was a nice drive to the park and out guide JAC was fun, entertaining, knowledgeable and gave us helpful ideas of spots to try. JAC knew his stuff. He identified many plants and fruits for us. He allowed us to go at a pace that felt safe for us. We never felt rushed. I say this because there are parts of the trail (especially when we descended) that was wet, rocky and very slippery. Happily, the team provided us with walking sticks as well! Some reviews wrote that you can do this on your own. Absolutely, you can but the walk would be without the expertise of the guide. JAC made the trip for us. All in all a great day and a great guide!

Jason and Anon

Laurie_K, Jan 2026
Jason grew up in the area so had great stories as well as restaurant recommendations. Anon translated for the Japanese guests. The rain made for some slippery spots on rocks and mud. The guides did bring walking sticks for us and there were cut-outs in the steps that were steep. There were stops for restrooms and small gift shopping. The sandwiches were very good and a bottle of water was provided at lunch.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Aloha, Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We’re so glad you enjoyed Jason’s local stories and recommendations, and we truly appreciate Anon for helping translate for our Japanese guests. We’re happy to hear the guides provided walking sticks and support along the trail — and that you enjoyed the lunch as well! 😊 Mahalo for joining us, and we hope to see you again on another adventure!

Great guide. George was lovely. Took the time to talk to all members of the group and was very knowledgeable. The walk to the falls was amazing despite the rain but that did mean the falls themselves were spectacular.

Response from Host, Feb 2026

Aloha, Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re thrilled to hear that George took the time to connect with everyone and made the experience special. And sometimes the rain makes the falls even more spectacular! we’re so glad you were able to enjoy it! 😊 Mahalo, and we hope to welcome you again soon!

Enjoyed our experience

Julie_J, Oct 2025
Follow the directions given by the tour company--they make the hike easier and more enjoyable. It is not a tough hike, but be ready not only for the elevation gain, but the rocks and uneven path. A rain poncho is handy, too. Appreciated the group we were with as well as our guide--took rest breaks when needed and was encouraging. The sandwich lunch after the hike is fabulous! We enjoyed the entire experience very much! We would book with this company again. Thank you!

Fun Adventure

Lisa_A, Oct 2025
The hike was fun. It can be a challenge for someone who has balance or unsteady issues. Steep inclines. If it rains it can be muddy and slick in spots. Walking sticks were great to use. Lunch was very good and much needed after the hike.

More nature hike than waterfall

Kris_S, Oct 2025
Overall, this was a great excursion. It was more nature hike than waterfall given the lack of rain in the area, however, offered some beautiful views. The lunch at the park afterwards offered amazing overlook of Waikiki and Honolulu.

It was a great experience. Manoa Valley is beautiful although the walk can be a little slippery. Bring good walking shoes. Lunch was perfect after the hike to the Falls. Jack & May were awesome!

Love it

Hoki was the best tour guide we have ever had. Made us feel very comfortable. By the end of the tour, we felt like family. He gave us so much information about the city we were passing by, which was nice for someone like me who had never been to Hawaii

Great tour, gorgeous falls

Melissa_Z, Sep 2025
Juni was a great guide and kept a good pace. In terms of strenuous walking hikes, I would rank this an 8 out of 10 because there were uneven bits and some areas got pretty steep. The falls were lovely, albeit a little underwhelming, but it was still a nice tour and the sandwiches were delicious.

Best tour guide ever

Our half German and half Japanese fun tour guide was amazing. If I can give millions stars I would. He is fun and care environment pick up all the trash on our way. I am here for two weeks vacation and get every tour adventure done and he is the best.

Best Hiking Experience

The tour guides are amazing , very informative and patient . They took their time to explain things about Honolulu and the time at picnic area was amazing . The lunches were very nutritious and tasty . This excursion is must do when visiting Honolulu . It also give a full overhead view of the diamond head volcano and entire Honolulu area … totally amazing

This was our best tour of our vacation. Josh was our tour guide and he was amazing. He had a lot of historical knowledge and his experience with living in Hawaii was very interesting. Enjoyed every moment. Recommend this tour 100%

Awesome guides!

Crystal_M, Jun 2025
Our tour guide Jason and Mei were amazing. They did a great job of knowing the area and answering questions about the waterfall and the island!

Great experience! Highly recommend!

Stephanie_C, Jun 2025
Our guides Jason & Mei were wonderful! They were very informative & passed on some of their knowledge about the island’s history & culture during the shuttle ride & during the hike. The hike itself was absolutely beautiful! It had rained the morning of, so it was muddy & we had to be careful not to slip on any rocks.. Our guides provided walking sticks & bug spray which was very helpful & we made stops along the way to take pictures. Once we reached the waterfall at the end, we turned around & hiked back on the same path. After the hike we got back into the shuttle & we made a quick stop for one of the guides to run out and grab our freshly made sandwiches at a local sandwich shop and then we headed to the state park for a picnic with a beautiful view & ate them! They were delicious and everything about this experience was amazing!

It’s great that the extra touches — walking sticks, bug spray, photo stops, and the picnic — helped make the day special. We appreciate you joining us and hope to welcome you on another adventure soon. Mahalo!

Jason and Tomomi, our guides, made the experience worth the workout. The hike was a great way to see the forest and the waterfall. Enjoyed hearing the life experiences of the island through Jason‘s eyes.

Response from Host, Jun 2025

Manoa Fallen tree

MariaAnaLea_E, May 2025
Thank goodness I opted to have a walking stick. I think it really helps on the return so that you don't lose your balance and slip on the rocks. It was a slight challenge but weather wasn't too hot and manageable under all the tropical environment. There was an unexpected tree fall which we had to do a somewhat limbo dance to get through. Thank goodness no one was killed But overall it's worth seeing.

Response from Host, Jun 2025

Thank you for your feedback! We're glad to hear you enjoyed the experience overall and that the walking stick was helpful on the trail. We'll be sure to share your comments with our team as we always aim to keep the hike safe and enjoyable for all guests. We appreciate you joining us and hope to see you again. Mahalo!

Easy Hike with amazing local guide

Jennifer_C, May 2025
This was an easy hike with great views of the waterfall. But what made it above and beyond was our tour guide, Jason, who had so much amazing local information. He was fantastic!!

Awesome again

Claudia_H, Apr 2025
The hike was just perfect, no mosquitos, easy hike. Lunch was great, the ride there was very enjoyable.

Excellent tour highly recommend.

Jason was an excellent and fun tour guide! He not only guide us to the waterfalls but dived in the history and culture of Hawaii. Highly recommend this tour. Mahalo Jason!

Great Experience definitely worth it!!!

Evelyn_C, Mar 2025
Wear compression socks and boots definitely recommend using hiking sticks and bring water and snacks

Bilingual tour mainly in Japanese

Hannah_C, Feb 2025
Advertised as English but it's actually a bilingual tour being primarily in Japanese. A steep hike with beautiful views nonetheless. Recommend hiking shoes and bringing water! Walking sticks provided still a 7/10 difficulty all uphill the way to the Waterfall. Rocky and muddy

Fun in the air.

Boycho_Y, Feb 2025
Great and fun experience First time ever flying with helicopter Me and my wife absolutely loved it We enjoyed the island view from the sky , beautiful scenery. Recommend it to everyone. Thank you Magnum Helicopters 👍✌️👏.

Nice hike and overlook, but you can save yourself 2-3 hours on your own

Charles_D, Feb 2025
The trail was beautiful, the overlook fantastic. The sandwich for lunch was tasty. You could do this on your own, one hour to pick everyone up, a stop at the office for souvenirs, the trail is a 30-40 minute hike you can’t get lost, and you can Uber or taxi saving you 3 hours. We had planned to go to the beach in the afternoon but the tour ran over by an hour, so we missed out.

Response from Host, Feb 2025

Aloha. Thank you for your feedback, and we are glad to hear you enjoyed the trail and lunch! While many trails on Oahu can be accessed independently, we believe our guided hikes offer a unique experience, allowing you to learn more about the area and enjoy the hike with insight and support. We’re sorry for the timing inconvenience that caused you to miss out on your beach plans. The duration of the tour can sometimes vary depending on group size and traffic, but we always strive to keep things on schedule. We have shared your feedback with our team to help improve our operations moving forward. We truly appreciate your understanding and hope you had a chance to visit the beach afterward. We'd love to have you join us again for another great adventure! Mahalo!

Perfect day away from the city

Carey_N, Feb 2025
This was a great event! You feel so outside of Honolulu but it’s really a short drive and not too long in the van! The hike is 1.5 miles round trip (in and out) gravelly with some incline but pretty easy if you’re fit and have good shoes. The tour provides walking sticks if you think you need some help. Lots of places to stop for snacks and drinks and restrooms during the day. Lunch is at a different spot and was tasty but the view was INCREDIBLE! A 180-degree view from Diamond Head over to Pearl Harbor. Jason was our guide and he was the best! A true local with intimate knowledge of Manoa, the local plants and animals (we saw a mongoose!) and nearby sites and restaurants. He was a great guide who clearly loves his job!

Response from Host, Feb 2025

Mahalo for sharing your experience, and we hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon! 🌿✨
