Great tour for newbies to Oahu. Thought it would be more of a food tour but where we stopped was great fun local foods!

The tour hit some fantastic sights on the way to the North Shore from Waikiki. Our tour bus operator was really nice and seemed to be providing some very cool knowledge about the island as we drove by important sights. Unfortunately, almost no one on the bus could hear him. I want to say it was because he has a monotone voice that is very low, but the headset didn’t do him any justice either. Both of these factors, in addition to jet lag, made it pointless for commentary to be provided if we couldn’t hear 90% of it. We could have just sat in silence or with Hawaiian music playing. As a result, most of the shuttle bus passengers were talking or sleeping- regardless of whether they were Japanese or English. The And You tour company should invest in the driver microphone equipment because the sound quality was the worst we experienced of the six tours we did while in Honolulu. Another option would be to pre-record some of the commentary for the sights along the route and play it on the screen in the front of the bus. No one had any issue hearing any of the b-roll tour snippets that were played while in North Shore traffic. Commentary aside, the stops were great and the tour guide was a wealth of information when we spoke to him outside at the stops. The tour company was very friendly when we stopped at their offices at the start of the tour. So I’ve only removed one star for the ride commentary audio portion. I have to keep the review honest for anyone considering the tour. Book it for the stops, not for the travel commentary. Also, don’t book anything in the evening before 7:30pm. It will be a long day.

However, we sincerely apologize for the difficulties you experienced with the audio commentary during the bus ride. We understand how important clear communication is to fully enjoy the tour, and we regret that the microphone and headset issues prevented you and other guests from hearing the commentary properly.
Your suggestion about upgrading the microphone system or using pre-recorded narration is greatly appreciated and will be shared with our operations team as we continually work to improve our guest experience.

This tour should have been described as Scenic Stops & SHOPPING. The LOCAL FOODS were a minor part of the tour, compared to the Shopping component; we stopped at THREE souvenir shops before noon. Some of the local foods (Kona coffee, macadamia nuts, cookies, and shave ice) were available ONLY at souvenir shops or at our own expense. This was NOT a food tour. Small samples were offered, but only as a component of the souvenir shops. The scenic stops were worthwhile, and our guide, Jason, gave nice commentary as we circled Oahu. The included malasada and plate lunch were delicious, but it’s very misleading to mention “local foods” in the title of this tour.

The bus was not really air conditioned as advertised. It was difficult to hear the driver speaking. even after he asked could we hear him, we told him, no adjustments were made.

This tour will expose you to other areas of the island that you will not experience in Honolulu or Waikiki Beach. Our tour guide ways knowledgeable and was from this area. I would do this again.

Food tour and scenic stops were great. However, half of the narrative was in Japanese so we could not understand what was being said. You could also not hear well from the back of the bus. Even the English was mumbled.

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable of the island and took very good care of all his guests. You get to see majority of island in one day and experience variety of food which were all excellent.

Jason and Mai were great tour guides. Jason is amazing with his stories, I learned so much about the Hawai'ien culture, so many Hawai'ien words and of course about the island. The route and the food were excellent. It was a great day. MAHALO
