Do NOT purchase. I paid $30+ for a download that is unusable. It is NOT made clear up front that this map doesn't work with Android Auto. I'm in an unfamiliar location in a rental car... of course I need to see a map and get turn by turn directions. If you know exactly where you are going and how to get there, this MIGHT tell you highlights of each destination... I needed a navigation program to follow so I plugged in my Android phone. This useless narrative of what's ahead cannot be run simultaneously- therefore a TOTAL WASTE OF YOUR MONEY.

Shaka Guide is a GPS-triggered audio companion, not a turn-by-turn navigation app like Google Maps, and due to Google’s policies it doesn’t run in Android Auto. Our app plays audio and narration from your phone (or you can send audio to the car speakers without using Android Auto) and give stories plus clear heads-up directions as you follow the route. We are a big fan of these audio tours. They were a great way to get info we wouldn't have known otherwise, and fill some space on long drives. It also helped distract my kids on some of the hair raising, white knuckle curves around the north side of west Maui! Our only wish was that the tours could be run in any direction, as we didnt always drive the direction they expected.

Best way to travel the Road to Hāna

This was excellent! In the end we only had time to use the Classic Road to Hāna but it was worth the cost! We learned so much about what we were driving past plus history of Hawaii and travel tips for the Road to Hāna it was a huge help. The tracking of my location so that it knew exactly where I was and could guide us accordingly was outstanding! The Road to Hāna experience would have been terrible without the app and guide, it reallly made the experience top notch!

It was a good tour. I liked it. I was amusing and informative. I'd say the 6 tour bundle was a bit misleading. It's 3. There's a tour, the opposite of tour going in the opposite direction. A sunset and sunrise going to same places and 1 unique one. It's also a bit dated. I wished there was more info in the area that had the fire. It has recovered but the tour just talks about it and bypassed it. It's odd that it doesn't navigate during the tour, just to the starting point. During the tour the navigation is on the audio and you can see the map That said, for the price and everything. No regrets, good tour. We enjoyed it

We ended up ding a road to Hana tour with a guide. The road is narrow and extremely curvy. If you really want to drive ask locals about road conditions and closures and try to stay or camp near Hana, reservations will be needed. It was definitely beautiful 😍 🤩

We really loved this! The tour was informational and told us stops we would have never know about. We needed to get to Wai'anapanapa in 2 hours so we drove straight thru and then do the reverse road to hand tour. We forgot to use it when driving the west side but I wish we had.

Great GPS Initiated Island Tour

Good tour. Interesting stories to go with the tour and the narrator was easy to listen to. The tour is linked to GPS so that was handy for triggering the upcoming turns or description for an area. The tour worked well for us.

It was one of the best app, useful, glad it draws attention to almost everything that you can think of while going on a road trip. We enjoyed the road trips in Maui with our little one and all of us were able to follow along and enjoy some music as well. I only wish we had Shaka guide for all states…

Well worth it

We were super impressed with this audio tour and really glad we opted for this instead of going with a tour group. It gave us tips that we would have not known if we went without it which would have caused us to miss out on beautiful stops.
