Exciting tour to Haleakala! Amazing views and such an incredible sunset. Michael is the best!! Very informative and we learned about the history of Hawaii, the plants, and the wildlife on the island. Food was excellent with lots of choices. Michael truly cares about his guests, refers to us as his ohana, and makes the tour a fun experience for all! We even saw amazing stars after the stunning sunset. This tour is highly recommended, a must do when in Maui!

Michael has tailored this experience down to the last detail. From the moment of pickup, he related information about Hawai’i and Maui. History, geology, botany - he knew it all.
Dinner was delicious and the added treat of hot chocolate after being outside in the cold was most welcome. Stargazing after sunset was gorgeous and having time to do so is an excellent end to the time up the mountain.
Highly recommend!!! We will probably do it again next time!

We had originally signed up for a sunset dinner tour with different tour group who never showed up. However, this turned out to be a blessing as we had such an amazing experience with Bike Maui / Haleakala Ecotours. We were in a group of 8 and Michael was our tour guide and van driver. He did a fabulous job in providing us such interesting historical information and about Hawaii in general. He also made sure we got an extraordinary stargazing experience. When the weather changed at the top of Haleakala he stopped at 7,000 feet. The weather was still bad, so he stopped at 5,000 feet and — what a show of stars!! He also provided us with hot chocolate or tea after the chilly sunset. Michael definitely earned a 5 PLUS stars! We would highly recommend this tour.

Our tour guide Mike did an incredible job. While expertly navigating the road up the 10,000 foot mountain, Michael entertained us with his vast knowledge and warm sense of humor. We stopped at a wonderful bistro along the way. My lunch which was included in the price of the tour was the most delicious crabcake sandwich that I’ve ever had. I enjoyed eating it while gazing out at a fluffy layer of clouds and the sun glistening off the Pacific Ocean and the Maui coastline. Mike helped us get our cameras ready for a spectacular sunset. The highlight for me was the stargazing where I had to look closely to find the constellations in an amongst the thousands of stars.

Very disappointing we didn’t get to see the sunset or the stars. Michael was an awesome tour guide & tried very hard to make the best of it but weather did not permit food was great pricey excursion only to be disappointed

Amazing tour! The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, the scenery was breathtaking, and the entire experience was unforgettable. Bring warm clothing is SUPER COLD!!!!!

We had such a fun time learning about the history of Hawaii from our guide, dinner was DELICIOUS. We were unsure if we would get to see the sunset, because of clouds, but at the very last minute everything cleared up. We are used to the cold Midwest, so we brought sweaters and blankets, but could have used something heavier (and water resistant). The hot chocolate was so nice. And the sunset was something you just knew was special and not something you would get to see often. If you are reading this, DO THE TOUR!!!

Unfortunately, could not do this trip because of the wildfire the national park was closed but the tour company was excellent in keeping us informed about the situation and flexible in even rescheduling it. We were not lucky enough to do this trip but will definitely do this in future

Mike was wonderful he has soo much knowledge about Hawaii and he was so sweet he made it exciting hearing the hawaiian legend stories. He kept us alert, and aware of everything he's a great tour guide and story teller. Food/Dinner was very good as well enjoyed also the star gazing...never any dull moments. Thanks Mike and Mahalo!😉😊

This tour was more than I could ask for. Everyone always does a sunrise tour, but sunset is the one. Mike is very knowledgeable, considerate and very passionate about Hawaiian culture. He takes good care of all his guests and goes above and beyond. Dinner is honestly very good and better than I thought would be. Views are breathtakingly beautiful, you won’t regret this tour.

My wife (27 weeks pregnant) and I booked this tour for our trip last week. The day before the trip, my wife started to get worried about being at altitude with the baby, so I called the tour operator and inquired about cancelling for a refund. Admittedly, this was within 24 hours of the tour start time, so we were not officially eligible for a refund, but I was asking for an exception and hoped they would be understanding of the situation. I left the call with the tour company under the impression they would issue a refund, but to do so, I needed to go through Viator to request the refund. After calling Viator, they sent a cancellation request to the tour operator as expected. However when I called the tour operator the next day to see what that status of the refund was, they told me they said no such thing about approving a refund, as we were not within the cancellation window. The tour operator was very animated (bordering angry) on the phone with my wife, and at this point my wife and I had already skipped the tour. After a number of back and forths with both the tour company and Viator, we're basically out of our money and have no tour to show for it. I wish I would have known we were going to get shafted, because I might have been able to convince my wife to take the tour despite the altitude (with a lot of effort), but based on the promising phone call with the tour operator, I didn't think it was necessary.
