- Dress appropriately. Viewing whales is often best done outside on the viewing decks. Wear sunscreen, secure hats and belongings and dress for breezy "on the water" conditions
- For comfort we cap capacity at 80 passengers; Coast Guard Certified for 145 passengers.
- Tour operator reserves the right to substitute vessels, routes and destinations based on vessel operations, weather and sea conditions without notice
- All passengers must be able to provide identification upon the request of vessel personnel as proof of his/her identity. Due to these changes it is imperative that each guest have a valid ID with them at all times.
- Check-in minimum 30 minutes prior to departure of tour at the lighthouse at Lahaina Harbor. Look for a crew in a blue Hawaii Ocean Project shirt.
- Tour boarding begins 30 minutes prior to departure and closes 5 minutes before departure.
- Departures leave promptly at designated times to avoid delays on return times.
- Full refunds are eligible with 24-hr notice. Less than 24-hr notice due to medical circumstances a doctor visit note may be required for a full refund
- Restrictions • Generally this activity is considered wheelchair accessible. Call us for further details before booking.

This was handicap accessible which was most important to us. The crew was friendly and very knowledgeable. We saw so many whales, it was unbelievable. Love the top deck to be able to look out. Would definitely do this again, highly recommend.

This whale watching tour was good, but we left feeling like the tour was done with the least amount of effort. The boat just went to where were 5 other boats and we stayed quite far away the whole time. Other boats were up close or would move on after awhile and we stayed pretty far away but in the same area the whole time. I would have liked to follow so many of the other whale sightings but we just stayed there. I just feel like they didn’t want to waste any gas or not try to see anything else. On the positive side we did see one whale interact up close with so many other smaller boats around us.

We are sorry you feel we did not do what we could to make this a great trip. As explained by our Captain and crew, we can't legally drive within 300 feet or 100 yards of the whales. We have to stop our engines and wait for the whales to come to us. Most of the time, they do. The rubber rafts that drive right over to the whales are breaking the law. It is disheartening that they make us look like slackers and from now on, we will take videos of them and turn them in. The decision to not drive right over to the whales was not about wasting fuel.

This whale watch tour was fun. The captain certainly seemed knowledgable about where to find whales; however, it was late in the season and we saw a handful from a distance. We appreciated that the captain offered we could stay on the boat for the next 2-hour tour. I would recommend this tour during peak whale season (mid-Janiary through March).

Thank you for supporting a Lahaina family business. We really love what we do. We have a 300 foot/100 yard law to not drive up on the whales but wait till they come to us. Usually, the whales are really friendly. The small rafts that drive up to the whales are breaking the law. We work really hard to make this a great trip.

Boat was a suvivor of Lahaina Fire in 2023. Only boat to survive.Crew and Captain were very knowledgable and work the full two hours. Best time for whales is mid February, but we did see some active Mom and baby groupings.. Weather was great!

Many tours do not have a large boat to allow for you to move around for comfort or views. Captain and crew were accommodating and knowledgeable and kind. We saw whales the whole time (end of March). Wonderful experience for my family 5 aged 10 - 50.

Amazing trip!!! Dave, Michelle and Capt Andy helped make the experience so much fun! It was my first time seeing whales and it's one I will not forget. I would totally do it again. So glad the harbor has reopened and the Kaulana is sailing again.

This was a great experience as the captain of the boat had been doing this for many years. We went out of the harbor and headed towards where the whales normally hang out and saw a mother and her baby breaching the surface. While the boat was only at 1/3 capacity, there is plenty of room to move around and be able to see where the whales are once spotted. We had a great experience.

We had a great time :). The check in was easy and quick. There’s lots of room on the boat for viewing. The captain and the crew provided lots of information about the whales. We were able to see a momma with her baby and escort pretty close to the boat as well as a lot of others. This boat has been out of commission for awhile because of the fires in Lahaina a few years ago; they did a great job, and we were happy to help them get their business going again. We’d highly recommend this trip!

This whale watching tour exceeded every expectation. From the moment we set out, the crew was welcoming, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. We were lucky enough to see multiple whales up close, including some incredible breaches and tail slaps it truly felt like a once in a lifetime moment.
The boat was clean and comfortable, and the guides shared fascinating insights about the whales and marine life throughout the trip, which made the experience even more meaningful. You can tell they genuinely care about both the animals and their guests.
If you’re even thinking about booking this tour do it. It’s an amazing adventure you won’t forget!

We had a fantastic time. We arrived late season and the captain and crew knew exactly what to do and where to go to get us up close and personal with a momma wale and a baby. We have been on three tours before this in various “HOT SPOTS” around the world and we never saw a thing. This trip we saw several wales breaching in the background while a momma and baby entertained us for a full two hours.

The captain and the crew were fantastic!! Very knowledgeable about the whale and its population. We saw our first sitting within 10 minutes after undocking. It was a mother and her calf. He communicated his experience and why he was rated so very high. His understanding of the island, nature, and the species was so insightful.
My family and I will definitely use his company again. The captain took us out further just to see a few breaches and schools. Even after our time expired, he kept going to give us more site time.

Fantastic adventure! Saw so many whales breaching, and two of them swam over to check out the boat! The captain was knowledgeable and fun to listen to. The larger multi-tier boat made viewing so easy. Glad we didn’t take a little raft boat.
