Itinerary

Your bike tour begins at your morning or afternoon meet-up time. After getting fitted for a bike in just your size, you’ll set off on a mellow 2-hour ride past blooming cherry trees and led by a professional guide.

Views along the way include the reservoir between the Potomac River and the Washington Channel, dubbed the Tidal Basin. In addition to exploring East Potomac Park, you’ll easily spot Jefferson Memorial, Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial, and the George Mason Memorial.

The blossoming pink and white cherry trees make a marvelous photo backdrop. Snap photos while your guide explains how the many cherry trees in Washington DC came to be. The annual National Cherry Blossom Festival celebrates the longtime friendship between the United States and Japan.

Old Post Office Pavilion is the ending point of your tour.

Note: Peak cherry-blossom blooming dates are April 3-6, according to the National Park Service. If you book your tour before or after this blooming period, you’ll still enjoy some fabulous views and photo opportunities while learning interesting history on this nicely paced 2-hour spring bike tour of Washington DC.

Excellent! Our guide Matt...

Rhonda_B, Mar 2026
Excellent! Our guide Matt was awesome! Very knowledgeable and personable. We had no idea what to expect and it was the best decision we made to learn our way around Washington DC! Highly recommended!

Awesome Cherry Blossom Tour

Mike_K, Mar 2026
We did the Cherry Blossom tour and had a great time. We go to see Cherry Blossoms as well monuments we had only seen driving by. Adrian was our tour guide and was very knowledgeable and got us safely to all the best sites! I would highly recommend this tour.

Not great for kids and groups

Monique_N, Mar 2025
The tour size was too large to be enjoyable as the tour guide was speaking, we couldn't hear anything she said since we were in the back of the pack (13 bike riders). Also, because it was so crowded (not the tour's fault), we were often getting cut off from our group, losing sight of our group, and trying to cross dangerous intersections quickly to not fall far behind. It would have been better to find alternate routes that were more bike tour friendly.

Do NOT do this tour during the cherry blossom rush

Srijata_C, Mar 2025
My review is primarily about the experience, nothing against the tour operators. I booked it hoping that it gives us a fast and easy way to cover the Tidal Basin area with all the cherry trees in blossom. In reality, with hundreds of thousands of people milling about due to the cherry blossoms and the kite festival, it was impossible to bike. I was constantly worried about hitting a stroller or hitting a car — cars were also totally gridlocked. Half the time we were walking with our bikes or rolling along with pedestrians. This tour should not be operated on the busiest weekend, and also not so late in the afternoon. You will do far better coming in early morning and walking a couple of miles along the tidal basin for photos. About the operators: the bikes were good, the setup was fantastic, no complaints there. We should have been given more instructions about the traffic rules to follow (locations of the bike lanes weren't always obvious). I was also hoping for more storytelling from our guide about the history of the trees, or the monuments we visited. However, he worked very hard to make sure we all got around in literally stampede-level crowds, so maybe it was just not the day to stop and talk.

Nice tour on bikes.

sharon_c, Mar 2025
Very easy paced bike ride, plenty of stops for cherry blossom viewing! Much of ride was on the sidewalk, so you had to be very careful in the crowds there for cherry blossom festival.

Great ride through the DC cherry blossoms

Yohlaunda_B, Mar 2025
We had a great ride with Aiden through DC stopping to see a few monuments as we took in the cherry blossoms at their peak. Interesting facts, a moderate pace, and good safety protocols. Aiden even quickly helped another bike group with a bike chain issue. Great service, great ride, great day!!

Fun & Infornative Evperience

Cathy_K, Mar 2025
Our tour guide Wally was easy going, but safe, and he brought us on a fun and interesting route and gave us interesting information about it. I was with my high school aged son but there was a 10 year old on it who did great and adults of all ages. Very fun way to see DC.

Beautiful Tour

Tamara_M, Apr 2024
Our tour guide was knowledgeable and patient. She guided us expertly through the crowds around each location. The blossoms were beautiful and we felt like we had enough time at each spot to take it all in. Thanks for a lovely time.

Cherry Blossom Tour

Diane_G, Apr 2024
Guide was very knowledgeable and the tour was very manageable. The cherry blossoms had bloomed early so we’re not as spectacular but we were still able to see trees with blooms.

Not great.

Robin_A, Apr 2024
Our guide was lovely but young and inexperienced so when a bike needed to be fixed she was a little panicked. Also it was very busy and we should have been on bike lanes instead of weaving in and out of pedestrians. Dangerous.

Great family experience!

Laurie_S, Mar 2024
The cherry blossoms and other flowers were gorgeous! The bikes were a great way to see the monuments and scenery. Our guide Bianca was friendly, knowledgeable and organized!

Loved the Cherry Blossoms

Stephanie_J, Mar 2024
Lots of walking the bike in this tour because pathways too busy. I wouldn’t recommend, I think walking would be better.

Soggy, but spectacular!

Wendy_R, Mar 2024
It was cold and rainy, but our guide did a great job navigating us around the puddles and monuments. It was a fun way to experience Washington's iconic cherry blossoms!

Do NOT sign up during cherry blossom season.

ELIZABETH_L, Mar 2024
This tour should not have been an option during Cherry Blossom peak season. Biking the tidal basin is impossible with the massive crowds. The tour group was much too large (15+) for the guide to handle. She tried but she needed at least another person to help make sure the group was okay. We ended up losing two people in the tour…they ended up turning around and leaving. The tour was limited to the tidal basin. So if you wanted to see other known areas for cherry blossoms, it is not included. Maybe any other time of the year would have been okay. But not during cherry blossom season.

Too many people to actually ride the bikes.

Nichole_E, Mar 2024
It was too crowded to actually ride the bike and it felt unsafe- crowded with both people walking and our bike tour group had over 13 riders in it. It was also very cold and not being able to ride the bike, made it harder for us to warm up from the exercise. After 20 minutes of waddling with our bike between our legs, my daughter and I decided that we would not do the tour and returned our bikes. We were not given any refund.

Cherry blossoms are beautiful but NOT on a bike in the crowds!

Gita_L, Mar 2024
With cherry blossoms come large crowds. You are shoulder to shoulder on the pathways, so you can imagine what biking through that feels like. A 10 am bike ride is a complete no-no. They should offer this to start at 7:30 or 8:00 am. That way you could enjoy the ride but not with throngs of people at 10 am. On top of that we had an inexperienced tour guide. Almost no content or descriptions were provided. She just kept biking on without looking back to see what was happening to the group. Many people dropped out of the ride along the way. On top of no descriptions, we also did not stop at key spots which would have resulted in great photos. All in all - either go super early on a bike to avoid crowds or walk. Biking at 10 am is dangerous with all the stopping and going and a tour guide who insists on biking through areas where signs clearly say you need to walk your bike.

Scam

Shannon_D, Mar 2024
So crowded on this tour route that walking would have been a challenge (it was like sardines on the sidewalk) let alone biking, there were no bike paths! You are expected to bike in extremely heavy foot/car traffic on sidewalks and grass and many people on our tour were unable to do this. We had people trying to walk extremely angry with us the entire time. We lost many people as there was only 1 tour guide responsible for leading about 20 people in the masses. About half the tour left angry before the halfway point/due to safety issues. The tour guide did their absolute best to accommodate the poor route/number of people they were unfairly given. I noticed the entire tour that both mine and my boyfriend’s breaks were rusty. Then on last leg of the tour my bike fully fell apart, causing my boyfriend to have to attempt to repair it in the crowd, and us getting left behind … Despite half the people returning before the halfway point to give their bikes back and us showing up late, alone, and covered in grease the shop manager would not admit any fault with the offering. Moral of the story - save yourself 65 dollars pp and walk the cherry blossom route, it is not meant to biked. Viator and Unlimited Biking are scamming people on this one.

Biking the Basin was fab!

Stacy_K, Apr 2023
We loved the bike ride around the Tidal Basin. Beautiful path and was a pleasure to see MLK monument. And guide's info about FDR monument very interesting. Only suggestions - we stopped at the tulips for way too long. Everyone didn't know what to do with themselves. When stopping to talk about a site - gather everyone in the shade. And it is so hot - should make water bottles available for purchase and highly recommend them before heading out. Highly recommend!

Good Spring-time Blossom Tour

Ben_P, Apr 2023
Good tour around Potomac park and the Tidal basin with Bianca. Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful with pictures or an impromptu stop for cherry blossoms.

See the City, Sights and Spring blossoms!

Victor_E, Apr 2023
A very fun way to see the city and spring blossoms! I don’t think anyone needs an electric bike, the terrain is flat and easy to bike. Cherry blossoms all but gone now but still fun to see the few left and all of the tulips! Would love the tour to include the White House and capitol building but in the time we had we saw all the best monuments. Located by the wharf, there are many great restaurants to grab lunch or dinner. About 5.5 miles of biking. Greg S was a great guide!

Blossom

Deborah_M, Apr 2023
We booked a cherry blossom tour however the first thing the tour guide told us was that there was no blossom in DC and that we should lower our expectations. We were informed it was too late to view blossom which contradicts the visitor info when we booked. Very disappointing

Great!

Alicia_T, Apr 2023
The bike tour was great. Our tour guide Greg was very energetic, informative, and you can tell he likes what he does. Would definitely recommend 👍

Potential to do better

Teresa_Y, Apr 2023
We came during the tail end of blossom season, and we were well aware that we would end up biking to sites (rather than trees). However, the tour just led us to the common/popular monuments without much history or background to much of what we were seeing. We could have easily just rented the bikes on our own and toured the National Mall leisurely. Suggestion to the tour company: give your customers headphones and train your guides to be real tour guides. That way, regardless if the blossoms are blooming or not, customers will feel like they still benefited from the tour.

10/10 Would Recommend

Aiyanna_H, Apr 2023
I went solo on this bike tour while waiting for a friend. There were three families there and they were all super welcoming. 10/10 would recommend and go again!

Just the right tour!

Charlene_K, Apr 2023
We only had a few hours to spend in DC so I booked this tour hoping to see the cherry blossoms and some of the historic sites around the Capitol. The tour accomplished both. We were delighted by the abundant blossoms and inspired by the monuments. Our guide Greg S. clearly loves the city and its rich history.

Bike riding the tidal basin

Tish_B, Apr 2023
Bike riding around the tidal basin could be fun. But not during cherry blossom season. There is not room for a bike with all the people and cars.

Great and enjoyable experience

Charlie_L, Mar 2023
Out of the 4 -5 stops, I had not been to 3 of them. That's a bonus for me. Dave, the leader of our group, was very good, very knowledgeable and personable.

Pretty ride. Bad bike seats.

Valerie_T, Mar 2023
The guide was very good. He knew the city and the history. The one improvement I would recommend is explaining how the electric bike “works” I was definitely not getting assist on hills etc. The seat was the worst bike seat I’ve ever used. I’m not going to sit comfortably for a week. I’m a biker who has done many long rides 30-40 miles on a decent bike with a good seat without getting sore.

Great blossom tour and guide

Marjorie_D, Mar 2023
Greg H. Was our guide. He was energetic, knowledgable, entertaining, and accommodating. The blossoms were beautiful and awe-inspiring. Would highly recommend this tour.

The girl who checked me...

Maria_C, Mar 2023
The girl who checked me in was very rude and they were very disorganized. Wasn't better than doing it on your own.
